This video is genuinely one of the most horrifying videos I’ve listened to in my life. I been listening to Mr. Nightmare for well over 7 years but this video is easily one of my top 5 most scariest, especially since I enjoy hiking that makes this video scary.
The Second story scared the living hell out of me. The horrific twist with the bears den, the horriffic wailing, it all sent a shiver down my spine. I swear, the added sound effects make these videos so much scarier!
If you think this one's scary then make sure to check out his video: "Compilation of Stories That Genuinely Freaked me out the First Time I Read Them". That'll for sure freak you out.
The second story struck something in me. I don’t know what it was, but the thought of hearing a noise so alien that the closest thing to it is a whale’s roar completely terrifies me. Holy shit Mr. Nightmare outdid himself with this one!
The person said it sounded more like wind, which is why they said their rational explanation was wind or a breeze. So it must have sounded similar... Mr nightmare just added a sound effect that sounded fitting so that we could imagine it ourselves.
It was probably a Bigfoot, the way the noises were described matches up with what a Bigfoot is believed to sound like, a Bigfoot might mess with a trail marker to scare you off its territory, Bigfoot is believed to leave territorial markings and scratched off tree bark would make align with that belief, also alleged Bigfoot activity has caused towns to be abandoned such as Portlock Alaska
The third story is one of the only stories I’ve heard on this channel that the police actually give the family an update after. Crazy though that him and his friends witnessed bodies being disposed and were chased because his cellphone rang lol.
I would say that woods in Europe are safer, only people who I had encountered were other hikers and bikers, and I’ve never heard about any tragedies. It’s normal here to not walk around armed with a pepper spray for example.
I was hiking in the woods once without bear spray or a GPS, and a bear jumped out in front of me. Thankfully he let me borrow his GPS and I was on my way.

I’ve heard about Dudley town, most of the people around supposedly say they have no idea why people say it’s dead silent, they hear all kinds of animals. It’s history says people “go insane” there; it’s blown out of proportion but it doesn’t get a lot sun, which affects vitamin D and what not, so it might explain why people felt the place was evil.
There's vitamin D lack in all of Norway, not much evil though. I think there's Mercury in the waters around Dudley town, which is why they went insane...
For the second story, it could be an Aztec death whistle, it's loud as hell and sounds a mix between human and animal. They used to be used by the Aztec warriors to basically scare the crap out of their opponents when going into battle. For being able to blow through it for that long while running the whistle uses almost no air to produce such a loud noise and the person might have had some contraption that could push the air through the whistle without them having to actually blow through it.
My thoughts exactly. I have been watching camping videos and campers tend to stay in the car during extraordinary circumstances for protection. Climbing up the hill to get signal when someone around you slashed your tires seems against all survival instincts.

Best advice for hiking in random places..... DON'T. you never know what's out there and you have a good chance of getting lost (no matter how experienced you are). That's really bad advice. If you are actually lost in the woods STOP WALKING. You're making yourself harder to find when search and rescue has to go looking for you.
@@cheesefries7436 you are correct, staying in one spot is definitely the best option, if you know someone is looking for you, if no one knows you're missing, chances are that people will not start looking for you from anywhere around a couple hours to possible days. One of my favorite Mr Nightmare videos in a LONG time. Each story was genuinely really unnerving, but as a New Englander, the Dudleytown story was just perfect. Creepy asf and the noise he used for that whistle/howl sound was atmospheric and truly creepy. Would LOVE to hear more New England stories-- it could be a cool new thing for this channel to do regionally themed videos, ie stories from the South, Pacific Northwest, Midwest, New England etc. Thank you so much for the years of great entertainment and scares, Mr. Nightmare 🖤
NOW THIS IS A HORROR STORY VIDEO! I usually fall asleep to these videos, but this one actually kept me up and had me intrigued and tense. Keep it like this, no paranormal stuff please. Just pure tense filled encounters.
As for the first story, I’m from Utah and it’s well known that the local Ute tribe don’t like people going into those mountains. It’s not Ute reservation territory, but there is a lost gold mine in the area that some of them are protective of. People have gone missing there looking for it before.
Ya us Mormons don’t really care if you hiking in the woods as long as your being respectful. You have the right to enjoy it too, just be respectful to us and we will respect you too.
And to clarify, I’m not saying ALL Utes would do this just that some of them view the Uintah range as their personal property (even though it isn’t) and most definitely slash tires and run people off.
I live in Layton Utah if you know where that's at? That's northern Utah like 30 Mi roughly a half an hour from downtown Salt Lake going north but this area they're talking about I believe it's near Logan or maybe a little past Logan area that's roughly 45 to 47 miles from where I live so that's a good good drive drive from where I live I've never heard of this or have never been to this Canyon they're talking about
@@cowboydan507I'm not Mormon not Mormon at all born and bred USA and in Utah but I'm not Mormon there's a lot of us Born Again Christians here that are not Mormon there's a lot of people of different faiths here it's not just Mormons there's a lot of other faiths quite a bit actually here
lol yep. I think the author is confusing Mormons with some other group here. Mormons are more likely to help you fix any flat tires, give you a bag of garden vegetables and a book of Mormon and wish you well. Mostly pretty harmless people.
Also, the garden vegetables is a sort of cultural joke that in most Mormon wards, we tend to grow too much squash and can’t seem to find ways to use it all come harvest season.
Yes, and the reasons that people somehow might connect to us being a cult have nothing to do with white hooded people in the woods. This cop like most is stupid.
19:18 Being chased in the woods is the scariest thing I could ever think of. With this music it made it much more tense and entertaining! Please do this more in the future Mr.Nightmere!
I work for the Forest Service and that first story kinda rings a little true, I work on a different forest though. Unmaintained access roads like that one and abandoned user made campsites way out of the way in the middle of the woods are things I find a lot
The Stereotype is ridiculous because most of us here are not even Mormons there's a lot of us Born Again Christians here know it's different they're not the same thing a lot of us Born Again Christians there's also people of other faiths here that and I'm from here that tells me you don't know anything about Utah you're very naive on stereotypes

I can’t believe that this year marks 9 years that I’ve been listening to Mr Nightmare. Every time I see a notification from this channel I still feel a sense of euphoria and it never gets old
The scariest thing you can find while hiking in the woods is a dilapidated cabin with a creepy, cobwebbed basement with some ancient flesh bound book lying on a table.
I'm not even 40 seconds in and I'm already terrified. With one of your closest friends. Terrible. Trusting your heart to somebody is absolutely frightening.
Erm, I'm a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (AKA "Mormon") living in Utah and huge fan of the channel. Just wanted to put this out there: I'm equally freaked out at the prospect of white-dressed individuals chasing the first guy and anyone doing that is not affiliated in a good-faith way with our religion -- so it made me laugh that the writer connects them. I don't think anyone loves unfounded concepts tied to their culture / religion. So I wanted to offer that connection, and ask for my fellow fans' respect. Thanks all!
Yeah i’m an ex Mormon/ex LDS member and it’s unfair to make the connection that Mormons are culty scary people living in the woods. That’s not an accurate representation of the religion I grew up in.
Mr. Nightmare, I listen to you at work. Your voice is perfect for these stories and I am grateful for the submissions that keep this channel thriving. We've got a Friday 13th this week---be safe out there, everyone. ;)
Ever since "Rob" stopped showing up in every story, seems like the stories have gotten way better. Keep it up man! The stories have all been top notch lately!
This first guy is statistic waiting to happen "I like to hike alone away from the main trails in areas where I don't have any service." Brother if you wanted to be murdered and never found again you could just say that. It's hard to feel any sympathy for someone that puts themselves in these positions on purpose
I think that story was very likely bullshit. The cop just happened to be patrolling in such a distant area just in time to save him? And sure Mormons may seem a bit odd, but they're not too bad despite the stereotypes. They're just another religion. I live very close to that trail, and it's just like every other stretch of land in that area: uneventful. Word would get around. Everything was too streamlined and convenient, like a fictional story.
I'm glad no one got hurt in some of theses stories. I feel bad for the victims in the last one. I knew the family were going to move after what happened. I've hiked before and nothing scary happened.
Thank you so much🖤 I’m 33 weeks pregnant and I’m in so much pain but your videos always help me relax so much. It’s raining over by me and there’s a faint breeze, so I’m about to take the best nap ever to your playlists🩵

19:00 This is why I always put my phone on vibrate mode
I was watching your old videos a few days ago and your voice has gotten so much deeper 😂anyways, I can’t wait for the halloween videos and the treat or truck horror stories
Yesss !
IKR? But, the oldest ones are from 9-10 years ago, so it makes sense. I encourage ppl to listen or re-listen to those.

TWO VIDEOS IN LESS THAN A WEEK? WERE BLESSED
Nightmare 🖤
For some reason, I love when you show pics of houses & basements. Even like 7 years ago w/ the stories about pool parties & basements!
2:20 hah The AI photo almost got me, that extra door handle was sneaky
I thought that looked wrong.

@@RachelParker-1977I don't understand why you're pointing that out
Oh yeah, scary hiking stories, my all time favorite from one of my favorite channels
NOW THIS IS A HORROR STORY VIDEO! I usually fall asleep to these videos, but this one actually kept me up and had me intrigued and tense. Keep it like this, no paranormal stuff please. Just pure tense filled encounters.
Gotta watch out for those Mormons. They might fix your tires and then send you off with green jello.
When Mr. Nightmare uploads, it's a good day. Especially when you have nothing to watch.
@@ollieminecraft there was Night Time Spooks too, just uploaded 4 hours ago!

As for the first story, I’m from Utah and it’s well known that the local Ute tribe don’t like people going into those mountains. It’s not Ute reservation territory, but there is a lost gold mine in the area that some of them are protective of. People have gone missing there looking for it before.
The Utes? Yes. The Mormons? no. The author of the 1st story needs to do more research! 😂
That's northern Utah like 30 Mi roughly a half an hour from downtown Salt Lake going north but this area they're talking about I believe it's near Logan or maybe a little past Logan area that's roughly 45 to 47 miles from where I live so that's a good good drive drive from where I live I've never heard of this or have never been to this Canyon they're talking about
@@cowboydan507I'm not Mormon not Mormon at all born and bred USA and in Utah but I'm not Mormon there's a lot of us Born Again Christians here that are not Mormon there's a lot of people of different faiths here it's not just Mormons there's a lot of other faiths quite a bit actually here
I don't think the first story had anything to do with Mormons. I'm not Mormon, but aren't they notorious for being super nice and welcoming?
yeah; and usually helpful too. probably meant to be a "culpable by association" kind of thing
@@ty7778 Yeah, I grew up with jokes that you lock your car doors at church because otherwise you'll find it full of extra vegetables.
"Mormons" in the Utah Outback slashing your tires? LOL!
It makes proselytizing easier when you have an audience that 1.) needs assistance and 2.) can't really use the "I gotta go" excuse this time.
Arizona has just as many Mormons as Utah no joke
@@GmoneyGm Are you suggesting that Born Again Christians should be implicated in slashing his tires?
@@GmoneyGmI’m an Exmormon, Mormonism is a sick satanic cult and I’m exposing it

Those were some of the best stories , with woods in my backyard I will be having a hard time falling asleep tonight.

Shout out from Colorado! Much Love!❤
How are those Venezuelan gangs doing?
All be damned! I'm literally in the middle of writing a short story about a guy being stalked by another guy in the woods, then I see this pop up.
I found this channel recently I have lots of great videos to catch up on 😂
Erm, I'm a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (AKA "Mormon") living in Utah and huge fan of the channel. Thanks all!
word 👍
I’m LDS too. Thanks for clarifying that we are a religion, not a cult
Yeah i’m an ex Mormon/ex LDS member and it’s unfair to make the connection that Mormons are culty scary people living in the woods. That’s not an accurate representation of the religion I grew up in.
Thank you👏👏👏
Ok, but this made me angry. You realize that this could turn into a huge conspiracy about our religion being a cult right?
Mr. Nightmare, I listen to you at work. Your voice is perfect for these stories and I am grateful for the submissions that keep this channel thriving.
We've got a Friday 13th this week---be safe out there, everyone. ;)
is it just me or are the stories getting more creepier and interesting lately? anyways keep you the great work, loved it!

Story 2 the "wailing" was probably someone blowing through a goat or ram horn.

Ever since "Rob" stopped showing up in every story, seems like the stories have gotten way better. Keep it up man! The stories have all been top notch lately!
Who is Rob.
rob?
Excuse me? rob
The last story.. wow gave me chills!
