Great review! I've had my Irwin's for a few weeks now and love them. Couldn't agree more with your thoughts on how nice they are. One thing I would add is how perfectly they fit on my Rogue rack. They have even an tighter tolerance than my Rogue sandwich j-cups.
that's some really good feedback. thanks for sharing, on the REP rack (1mm smaller) they fit great so like you said even better on the Rogue uprights! Thanks for watching
@@ExpeditionaryRanger for sure. They fit better than all my other JCUPS. Irwin hand makes these so you get much better quality than manufacturing in China.
Just pulled the trigger on the Irwin Rollers in Clear Coat with the Duff Blocks....and the Mac5 code was MUCH appreciated!!! Stoked to get these in the Unfinished Gym!!!
Hell ya Brother!! I just use them pretty much for everything now. I love how beefy they are and I'm never worried about scratching them. Just train and forget it.
I got a lot of value out of this video, especially the reasoning behind the composite vs metal rollers. Thank you! I take it the return to center feature was introduced after your review, so I hope to see your thoughts on it if you get a “next gen” version
These are "return to center" rollers. His new version are flat and allow the bar to float all the place. Honestly both versions work just fine but I like how these put the bar in bar in the same place every time.
Another awesome review, thank you. I'm definitely going to add this to my rack! It's a toss up between this or Rogue's new monolift... which one would you recommend grabbing first?
I would suggest the Irwin Rollers over the mono lifts and for the reason that the Mono's are somewhat specialized and limited where these can be used with all your lifts.
Great review! What are your thoughts on the self centering roller over the fully round ones that Irwin now offers? Im leaning toward round...but don't know the positives and negatives of those two options. Any advice would be appreciated!
I've been using the center roller on the Irwin's and they work great. My other rollers don't have that feature and honestly zero difference. I believe originally Ghost had the roller go to the front return style for the benefit of bench press. The bar is already at the end and easier to lift off. I find I can train with either or without any difference.
Mac Wich do you feel easier on taking bar off rack when Flat benching when doing self lift off. The Irwin roller concaved.. or flat roller option or Ghost were barbell is positioned in front lip?
Never heard of them but will check them out. I see many copy cat roller J-Cups starting to come out now. Personaly I like supporting Garth at Irwin fitness because he's a small Canadian company. cheers!
So you’re saying, if I buy these I can squat over 400lbs?? Sounds good to me haha. Great review! Love the quality of Irwin fitness and of the videos 👍🏽
I would love to get those, but they won't fit a Bells of Steel rack, unfortunately (2.3x2.3"). But I do wish someday I change my rack for one from Irwin Fitness, and I will be sure to get these rollers. I don't mind not having them for squatting, but I think they're a must for benching.
Hi, thanks for the video. How do you compare irwin roller to ghost fitness roller ? I can’t find a side by side review. Also, ghost have the ´´duffalo block’´ that fit on their roller for bar like the kabuki duffalo bar. Do you know if the duffalo block will match on the Irwin or if irwin are planning to produce similar product.
I bought the IRWINs and have had them side by side and compared them. Both great options but for the price the Irwin's just offered more for me. IRWIN is looking at releasing their own Duffalo insert soon as they are NOT interchangeable. Hope that helps!
@@MacStrengthCo thanks I will give them a shot to compare my guy didn't offer uhmw because of how the 3d printer works, but he has a 100 percent fit guarantee if needed he will make adjustments as needed and send out a new set for free.
To anyone who got these, have they scratched your uprights ? Received mine yesterday, tried to fit them on my Rogue and these are TIGHT...i haven't even tried to fit them all the way and put them aside...only to find out that they badly scratched my uprights paint.. I know that some will say that it's meant to be worn out...I'm not too fond of this and may have to shave off some UHMW... J-cups themselves are amazing and built like tanks otherwise.
That sucks but easily solved. Rogue's paint scratches so easily I know exactly what your saying and have had Rogue uprights scratch like that. This is rare but the Irwin's are made to a tighter tolerance which is good but your's might be too tight or your Rogue upright is the issue which is also common. Try them on different uprights to be sure you don't have a defective upright. Above all shoot Irwin a message and they will get your sorted out no problem. If you feel like sanding down the UMHW that will also help fit them on a tight upright. cheers, Rylan
@@MacStrengthCo thanks a lot for your reply...it's a regular rm-3 3x3...i never had any issues with the Rogue attachments or J-Cups, they do wear the finish a bit with use over time...but these are definitely tight as hell, maybe with use they will have a bit more give I'm guessing...we will see
I recommend you remove one piece of the UMHW and get a piece of sandpaper 80 grit and lay the paper flat on a bench and sand the backside(so the area you sanding is hidden) down a little. They won't get much better with use and I would hate for you to scratch the hell out of your rack.
@@MacStrengthCo Thanks..I think that there won't be another way around it... I was surprised, one installation attempt and i damaged my uprights more than 2 years of daily use...i died inside a bit..I know that you like to keep your stuff in good condition as well..especially when you spend top dollar for it. cheers

Certainly seems like a Buy-it-for-life purchase. And I love any company that takes something like this and perfects it. Great share! 🌟💯🌟💯🌟

Solid review brother, I was waiting for someone to review these. I'll have to add them to the list.
Thanks! The list never stops.. trust me! ha ha..

Good review. Those j-cups look good and beefy! Good to see they have a metal and composite option for the actual roller. I still want some Ghosts!
hell ya! That's the best part of home gyms. You can spend your money and build it however you want. Ghost makes some nice stuff.
I've been eyeing the ghosts for a while now but pulled the trigger on these since I live in Canada. Thanks for the 5%!
Hell ya!!💪🏼 won’t be disappointed and long term these will last longer and look better.
amazing review!!!! definitely thinking of ordering a pair
Right on. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching
Great review, thanks. They do look really nice
A really nice option and design. Should last a long time.
Awesome video, I've always loved the Titan ones especially in terms of value, but I bet I'll upgrade to these or perhaps the ghost ones in due time.
For sure. I think it's fair to say the price comes into play and probably not a fair comparison but nice to see the differences. cheers!

New to your channel. Irwin Roller J Cups look amazing. Can I ask what racm you have them on? Don't have powet cage yet.
They are mounted on a REP FITNESS PR-5000
Nice 405 squat Rylan 🙌

awesome, may i ask what rackable depth (jaw throat) for Irwin roller J-Cup, sir?
It's 3" of depth on the roller.

Appreciate it!
I really need some roller j-cups.
Time to get Rollin. lol The first time you just move the bar and center it so easily you won't go back! Thanks for watching.
Will the Kabuki Kadillac Bar fit in these roller cus?
It would be tight on a 47" width rack like REP or Sorinex with roughly 1/2" gap a side. No problem on the Rogue racks.
@@MacStrengthCo My rack is Rogue, so it is fine in the regular J-cups. I think it would rub in a 47” rack.
ya I just went and tried my BOS curved bar and it fits but is tight. If you have a ROGUE rack your golden. No issues.
Will they fit my titan fitness t3 rack
I don’t know much about titan sorry dude
Ok thanks
