Graham Potter deserves respect. I really think he will do very well at a big club in the future. I'm Swedish and what he did with Östersund was nothing but absolutely incredible. I will go as far as to say that run he had with Östersund is the most impressive thing a Swedish team has done since IFK Göteborg won the UEFA cup in 1982 and 1987. Also, he did put Brighton on the map. Damn, Brighton did play some fantastic football under him, and still did a while after him, and still do to some degree. I'd love to see him in the Premier League again. Maybe Everton, Crystal Palace or West Ham?

And online we do not have the benefit of non-verbal visual cues to assist. That's 79.92% of all comments on the internet, to be fair. (I made that last bit up).
It's not necessarily nefarious to use intersubjective language though: More the case that there are too many folks wanting to voice opinions to boost self-estem (most likely reason to post - even me) without the time, empathy or skills to consider the audience or the subject sufficiently.
There are TV programmes doing exactly the same. It's an epidemic. Dumbing down; time pressures; the explosion of individuality; the reduction in personal responsibility for words spoken - all have contributed. On 'hearing what you want to hear' - Psychologists have been known to refer to such intra-subjective truth as a devopment akin to the rise of personal truth. Objective truth is taking a hit.

Honestly I’ll take him at this point. Players folding under pressure, media create that pressure, media like this guy because he’s English, he’s worked with Dan ashworth, we’ve got the support around him. Get rid of tenhag on Christmas while moods are high and bring potter in as an interim and see if he can get something out of the players. If he’s shite then you go again in the summer. Truth is we aren’t attractive to big name managers like we used to be. The board and ineos need something to put us in the shop window again.

By comparison in 2020/21, at Brighton, they had -6 goal difference from an xg difference of +13.91.

The game vs spurs was not the worst since ten hag was employed to coach the men's first team. I think the half when united conceded 4 to Brentford was worse, the 4-0 loss to palace was worse and the 7-0 Liverpool defeat was arguably the nadir.

Potter is on 100k a week, potter is temporarily retired, he’s not bothered about getting another job. They’d have to buy chelsea out of the contract, he’ll wait till there’s 2 months left on his contract and take any job. I like Potter and I think he's a good coach (maybe he'll even be a great one someday), but he seemed very much in "PR mode" on MNF. I guess it's going to always be the way to some extent: managers do some punditry kind of like soft advertising for themselves as if to say "I am still here and am a safe pair of hands", but I was disappointed how every answer seemed like it was prepared beforehand and there was little spontaneity. Not every manager can be a charismatic pundit like Ange or Gary O'Neil, but I was at least hoping to see him relax and lower his guard a little bit.
Anyway, hope he gets a job worthy of his skills soon.
