I believe Arcadia Quest, surprisingly, may be my fav board game too. I like HeroClix, & this does it simpler & different although still similar. How do you feel about Cyclades? I like it, though it could use more combat at times. (I've yet to play Kemet.) I think I'd also include Blood Rage
I tried HeroClix around 16 years ago but never got into it and don't remember much. The bidding aspect of Cyclades makes me less keen on it compared to other area control games. Kemet is very good for inclining towards combat with out it forcing you to combat as the only option to win.
This is a fascinating list, Michael. Not seeing here the same games everyone else is talking about over and over again (Pandemic Season 1, Through the Ages, etc.) is really refreshing. Some of the games surprised me. E.g., I have not played Dead of Winter, Arctic Scavengers or Arcadia Quest but it is pretty clear, after your video, that I should give them a try :)

This Top 10 is so similar to my Top 10 Games, its scary!!! I love the way you give the short overview for each game and show us close ups. The video quality is so good how do you not have more subscribers???
I have not been able to play much Inferno yet unfortunately, but have been loving Pets. So far I would say it is probably slightly better than the original game for any trying to decide which to get, but not a lot in it.
I much prefer it to Scythe and it was part of why I choose not to keep Scythe, though really there is room for both in a collection, they are different enough if you have the space. I would say that it is a similar weight to Scythe and complexity etc... Depending on your preference on theme there is a space themed Terra Mystica coming out thise year too.
Always enjoy a good top ten list! Haven't played most of these but a few are on my radar. Only one i own is blood rage and it is a blast to play. My number one would probably be descent w/the app. Thanks for the great list!
I solved the problem by buying almost anything that is coming out :D my count on BGG is at 300+ excluding expansions - with an additional 50+ on my medium term wishlist (my user name is monart there). Luckily, I am not too much into fantasy themed games, worker placement mechanics and heavier games. At this level, reviewers like you and the BGG weekly climbers list are of great support to choose which games to acquire.
None that I have played and so am aware of. Some of my top 10 games from last year I no longer own, but that was just due to cost and using them as giveaways (Scythe and Terraforming Mars which fall somewhere in my top 50 probably)

Yay a top 10 without pandemic :) I take my hat off to you. I picked up Mage Knight a few days ago, just need to find the time to learn it now, the rule book looks..... urm..... concise.
LoL thanks Alan, Pandemic is my favourite pure Co-Op, but yeah so many other games I would choose to play more often :) Mage knight is a tricky little devil, I found Ricky Royal's play throughs to be the best thing around for learning it.
Alan Evans if you want to learn Mage Knight pretty easily, watch Ricky Royals box of delights channel, he does a couple different Mage Knight play throughs
not often i agree with only 2 title inside a top 10 list of all time. this time happened. We have very different taste in gaming, specially with kingdomino e codename that are really stupid games.
i'd certainly say mage knight is a deck builder
arctic scavengers, wow, never heard. haven't heard a shout out for mage knight in awhile, but it does seem like an impressive game. unique choices

I've not played it as don't get much chance to play dungeon crawls and it looks fairly standard with nothing special to really make me want to try it.
