I read once in media, some of their fans critized VOB for being too "feminist", accusing the band as part of Feminism Agenda.
the VOB replied "our music has nothing to do with any political/~ism movement ... we're just trying to sing our feeling out, purely from the bottom of our heart what we feel about (part of) the society (world wide)" ❤️❤️❤️

(edit) btw about the lyric "although I'm not as virgin as Mary" ... since Islam also recognises the Virgin Mary, the lyric isn't about specific religion, but more general opinion ... what I sense the meaning of this lyric "eventhough I'm not a pure/holy/religious/virgin woman (as you think), I'm not a slave of your rotten/facist mindset"
PMS stands for Perempuan Merdeka Seutuhnya [ women who are completely independent ]
This song was actually written by Marsya (vocals, guitar), Widi (bass), and Sitti (drums) during high school around 2017 together with their counseling teacher and mentor Abah Erza.
“We write songs fueled by the residual energy we leave after school.
At that time, we were very enthusiastic about school activities, so basically we had to drag ourselves to the studio for workshops,” recalls Marsya.
PMS is an expression of VOB's antipathy, displeasure, and anger towards their current situation, both lyrically and musically.
Despite the conditions they were in, there wasn't a trace of fatigue in the songs they produced.
The main inspiration behind the lyrics of "PMS" comes from a series of short stories written by Indonesian writer Feby Indirani entitled "Bukan Perawan Maria" [ Not the Virgin Mary ].
This single focuses on VOB's protest against discriminatory and judgmental behavior that tends to be aimed at women who have different mindsets, perspectives, attitudes, and even desires or dreams compared to the norm.
Departing from a region where social norms are heavily influenced by not only religious values but also patriarchy, the VOB has had its fair share of gender-based discrimination in the past. The absence of post-high school life options for many girls other than marriage will be one of them. The same goes for career options, which are limited for VOBs and their peers due to gender discrimination.
"Ironically, it's not just men who would display such behavior, but our fellow women as well!" Marsya commented.

A wonderful song (melody, lyrics) by a very spectacular band. And if we factor in their back story - three teenagers setting out on a stony uphill road to fulfil their dreams (i.e. playing hard rock) - , they deserve nothing but our deepest respect. Fantastic musicians, strong women.
They (and the messages they convey to us) are special gifts to women and all of humanity, to heavy metal and music as a whole, as well as to their home nation and the whole world... Great appreciation to @RegenerationNationTV for participation in globalizing them and spreading their messages.
