PMS stands for Perempuan Merdeka Seutuhnya [ women who are completely independent ] The lyrics contain a protest against discriminatory and judgmental attitudes which are often directed at women who have mindsets, perspectives, attitudes and desires or dreams that are different from the general norm in the mainstream. VOB made their new song a celebration for women who have succeeded in breaking down this stereotype and represent the voices of women from various regions that are still heavily influenced by social norms wrapped in patriarchal values🖤 This single was written by Marsya (vocals and guitar), Widi (bass), and Sitti (drums) when the three of them were still in high school in 2017. “We wrote this song with the leftover energy from school. The thing is, at that time it happened that school activities were hectic. So after school, we gathered in the studio for a workshop on this song," Marsya said in a press release🖤
This song has an incredible riff sound and lots of different vibes going on, but also have a touch of nostalgic era of 80's - 90's. I love how Widi always adds such a kick-ass baseline after Marsya's solos. Meanwhile Sitti, as the beat commander, always faithfully controls the tempo. What stands out the most to me is the harmony when everybody singing together on the chorus. 😍🔥🤘
