As usual, I really enjoyed your take on this. Awesome insight and love the nuances you touched on - especially when pointing out the pros and cons of Hybrid Ceramic vs Ultimate. Thanks for sharing! - Markus, Meguiar's Professional Product Manager
Thanks Markus, big thumbs up from me! I'm having a lot of fun with the new line, and for me that's the main point of the hobby - to get out there and enjoy the process, match the products to your preferences and keep at it. Do me a favor and give a high five to whoever is responsible for the fragrances on the Mirror Bright, Hybrid Ceramic, and Ultimate lines for me!
I would like to see a comparision between Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax and Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax. The liquid vs the spray. With and without the new quick detailer.
I'll definitely need to post my test video up between these two. They're both at similar levels of awesome hydrophobics, it's just you're going to have some guys that don't prefer or don't have an environment suited to work with the spray/wipe/rinse application of Hybrid Ceramic Wax. And I don't prefer using HCW without that rinse step. Meguiar's is claiming that the Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax will be the more durable option in the long term, but I think having these separate products to better suit the preferences of the user is a great thing.
Exceptionally well executed. Really liked the added variables of quick wax and detailer as I also have similar questions and concerns over their impact on behavior and properties to the base coat. Nice vid, you're dialed in bro!
I appreciate the feedback! I'm a big proponent of toppers and using them on a regular basis for waxes/sealants, and occasional use for coatings. Expect more topper tests coming up in the future!
Great video👍🤙 saw this in autozone the other day and almost bought both the detailer and liquid wax! Next time! Great information as always man! The hydrophobics on that ceramic liquid is awesome👍
Thanks! So far I haven't seen any negative feedback from the Ceramic Detailer, if you pick it up let me know what you think about it, for me it's working perfect! Great job on the Griot's G8 video!
@@PapaSmurf918Detail I have both hybrid ceramic liquid wax and the hybrid ceramic spray detailer,(the new green bottles), they work awesome as a team! The detailer however doesn't last but a couple or so washes, but then again... It's a detailer and really not meant to last forever. 😆 But both very easy to apply and remove. I find applying the liquid wax to half the car, then coming back and buffing off works best. Both awesome products and compliment each other well! Spreadability, Wipeability?? I love it! 😆!
@@johnwagner4559 John, thank you for the input! Yet another that loves it!! Yeah, still a couple weeks for a detailer isn't bad! Appreciate you taking the time to give me your feedback!
Excellent review... loved the comparison between the two... my all time favorite product is Megs ultimate liquid wax. Tried ethos ceramic pro recently and liked it as well. Will definitely add the detailer to my lineup
Thanks Barry! Ultimate Liquid Wax is a solid choice, I enjoy using it with the DA polisher and then reserving the paste version for use by hand. I have worked with Ethos Ceramic Pro and I'm not sold on it. For $35-40 I'm not seeing enough solo performance to make me want to switch from liquid sealants like Power Lock, Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, Ultimate, Duragloss, etc. Even Lithium Seal and Squeal was showing a bit better performance for me compared to Ethos. If you end up grabbing the Hybrid Ceramic Detailer, check back in with me and let me know how you like it!
Right, I'm extremely excited for the M27 Sealant, I've hyped this up a lot in anticipation of its performance. I'm willing to spend more for M27 if it can be a bit more enjoyable product to work with by hand compared to Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax. Although in general, I'm really trying to narrow down that perfect high performance liquid sealant to replace all of the $30 - $50 sealants that I've worked with over the years that I can apply with the DA polisher. Can't wait.
@@WaxMode Gallon size is available. I'm waiting on the smaller size. I'm generally pleased with old school Duragloss 111 for price, user friendliness application, gloss, and durability. But I would be happy to switch if M27 provides close to ceramic coating water behavior and self-cleaning properties.
I just bought the Megs liquid ceramic and detailer yesterday and waiting on the delivery of my new power washer today. I’ll soon see how this looks on Toyota’s Black Sand Pearl paint. Looks promising
I actually had Ultimate Fast Finish out quite frequently when I was up north earlier this year. I still think this is a great option sealant. When Turtle Wax's Ice Seal N Shine became so popular as a result of its chemical resistance, its heaviness produced situations where you could get into trouble with streaking at a significant level in certain situations. Whereas with Ultimate Fast Finish, this is much easier to work with and when placed in the same situations when Seal N Shine came out streaky, UFF went on extremely clean. I like Seal N Shine, but the market's fixation on chemical resistance as a priority has led people to avoid products that excel in areas that the chemical resistant super sprays aren't able to perform well in. After a full day of polishing and jeweling paint, Seal N Shine would not be my product of choice, I want something with a less heavy footprint that is not going to pose any threat of streaking, and UFF is one of those sealants that would be that choice for me. UFF does need to be maintained or reapplied regularly though, it's not a crazy hydrophobic product.
All of these meguiars products can be layered for greater durablity and extreme shine and slickness!!!!!!! I applied all the megiuars products (hybrid ceramic spray wax, then spray detailer as drying aid, then the liquid wax)in direct sunlight with 88 degree temp with zero issues. It made my white paint really pop.
I have slight oxidation on one door, starting to show that milky color and rough to the touch. I owned an older Honda that was absolutely destroyed by clear coat failure and I dont want that to happen to this car. It can be like a cancer and I want to catch it now. I used Ultimate synthetic liquid wax on the door but its still noticeable. From experience I know what's going to happen to this door. Will the hybrid ceramic wax prevent the spread of this?
Griot’s Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax, Turtle Wax Seal N Shine, Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating, products like these will show more chemical resistance in the short term when agitating Strip Down into them compared to the Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic line.
I need advice on what product to use to remove very fine scratches and swirls. I have a 10 Acura MDX black, I’ve gotten rid of the major defects but the fine scratches remain
Oh wow, Liquid Glass is some old stuff! I last used this over 10 years ago when I was working as a detailer, I may have to purchase some to try out and see if it competes against the new age of products.
@@WaxMode man oh man that would be awesome. They literally just released a whole new batch of this stuff out to the Advance Auto stores early February. Stuff was like finding a needle in a haystack. I'm still using this product on a regular basis, and top it off with Beadmaker. Still an amazing product in my opinion.
Have you tried Jay Leno's Garage Radiant sprayable ceramic sealant? It's a product I don't see anyone talking about and I was wondering if you could check it out. I bought a bottle off his website during a valentines buy one get one free sale and I'm really impressed with the quality and the smell is unlike anything I've ever had the pleasure of smelling.
I haven't tried it out yet! I thought I saw it over at Autozone a few weeks ago, I'm such a sucker for good smelling products, it has been very bad on my wallet.
I've been using the ceramic for about 3months..I mean its good..but it seems to loose its beading and depth after a short time..my kid loves it because hes finding it can hydrate his dipped car..in other words areas of the dip that dried out can be rejuvenated
Thanks for the feedback Aaron, good to know that it plays nicely on the Dip. I agree on the beading, in my last video that I did with the CQuartz + Brilliant Shine Detailer, I had a 2.5 month bare section of just Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax by itself on that video which survived, but it was no where near its fresh short term performance. I would definitely recommend regular maintenance with Hybrid Ceramic Detailer on this wax.
If i use hybrid ceramic liquid.. can i just do 2 coats of it , to achieve a dual layer of it? Or do i need to put down ultimate liquid wax then use the ceramic liquid? I really like meguiars and auto glym. I use auto glym everything then meguiars wax.. but i will be trying the ceramic detailer.. how does it compare to the normal quik detailer?
@@mrlionrocks Fusso is definitely up there, I think the most hydrophobic at the very start that I've tested is still Sonax Polymer Net Shield. Not a fun product to apply and remove at all, but the results are undeniable. CQUK has been the best product I've tested as far as maintaining its crazy hydrophobics for the longest period. Can Coat, FK1000P, and 915 are very good in the short term as well. It's a good topic for a video!
Superb review my friend !! 👍 👍, in addition I like meguiar's products! Especially the new ceramic hybrid line. . For you, in your opinion to use a finishing polish as a "one step or as a cleaner" on a well maintained vehicle, is M210 better than the M205? thank you in advance
I've been liking M210 a lot, I gave my more fresh bottle of M205 over to my brother as he was just getting into detailing, then I picked up M210 and I think it's able to finish down slightly better than M205. After pulling out my older bottle of M205, I was able to get slightly better gloss readings using M210 with the Rhopoint glossmeter. Haven't been able to test the cutting performance yet.
@@WaxMode Cool, thank you for the information! 👍, I'm thinking of buying 32oz of M110 & M210. If meguiar's is true, M205 has slightly more cut than M210 (about 0.5 on their scale), but to see in reality! I also have M105 & M205 and I love them so I should also like the new ones! 😉
@WaxMode....I know Ethos Car Care wanted you to test their new Ceramic Wax Pro...did they ever send you a bottle to try? I'd really love to see how the Ethos Pro Ceramic Wax compares to this Meguiar's Liquid Ceramic Wax. Ease of use, gloss, durability, etc. Those along with Griot's 3 in 1 Ceramic Wax and Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating are tops on my list to use for my primary layer of protection when my full detail rolls around in another month or so.
Still contemplating doing the video on the Ethos Ceramic Wax. I definitely prefer the Meguiar’s because it’s much more hydrophobic than the Ethos, and the Ethos just has too much competition at that price point for a sealant that’s not giving me a big enough of a “wow” factor. I prefer Seal and Squeal from Lithium over Ethos. Love the Ethos branding, bottles look awesome, but not enough performance for me to not just go with Power Lock or even HCLW here.
@@WaxMode Being a detailing fanatic can take a toll on your pocket. I been using it for 6 months now, though I cannot say anything about the longevity of TEC, its hydrophobic property and slickness are pretty great. Just bought Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax. I am about to strip off Wolfgangs DGPS 3.0 from my hood, and see what this wax is all about.
Wolfgang DGPS will blow this away in ease of application and will give better slickness. HCLW will give much better hydrophobics. I still really like DGPS and the rest of the Power Lock based paint sealants. Super easy to spread and buff off, slickness is insane, perfect sealants for applying after a full day of paint correction for absolutely zero headaches in applying and removing.
Hi, can you please tell me from your experience or opinion, how will this product " Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic liquid Wax" or the other one in spray form, work or do on gelcoat, on white or colored saltwater boats (which have be normal polished and waxed before- a old school way). Have and Would you do it on a boat or do you know somebody who have done it? Reason is to avoid classic waxing the boat minimum 4 times per year and do it with this product 2 time per year (before and after the boating season ). I can't find anywhere who has do it on boats and how, and how long does is worth? I am thankful in forward for any information ...........
Gold Class is more carnauba-based that is focused on gloss/depth, whereas Ultimate and Hybrid Ceramic are more based on a synthetic blend that is focused on durability. Ultimate and Hybrid Ceramic will outlast Gold Class in durability, with Hybrid Ceramic designed to outlast Ultimate. All of these are easy to work with on the paint, especially the latest revision of Ultimate, and all of these will be glossy to a satisfactory level, especially if you're polishing the paint beforehand using the right abrasives and polishers. So it's really up to you to decide what you want to specialize in, if you're waxing often on black paint and not polishing beforehand with a buffer, then Gold Class might be the best option. If you're looking for a balanced durability and super easy wipeoff, Ultimate might be a better option. If you're polishing beforehand and want the best durability and craziest water beading, then Hybrid Ceramic might be the best option in that case. But if you want that maximum durability, Meguiar's newest Hybrid Paint Coating will be the best option by a longshot compared to all three of their waxes.
@@WaxMode cheers for your comments. I’m not so bothered about durability or water behaviour. Just wanted to know which wax provided the best finish, and it sounds like it is the Gold Class.
Just got my hands with the hybrid ceramic liquid wax.am loving the water sheeting and the shine too 😬 just wondering how does gold class liquid wax or ultimate liquid wax compare.do they provide a much better gloss?😬😬
I use the Ceramic Wax spray. Haven't got the detailer because every time I think about it, I think of just washing the whole car instead. Do you think I'm missing out?
If you prefer to work with products after the car is fully dry, the Detailer is the one to go with. The Hybrid Ceramic Wax (spray), I only like using this wet and working it in with the towel and then rinsing right off, but sometimes it's just too hot out and sunny to be using HCW, in that case I like to have the car fully dried off, then I'll top up the protection with the detailer. Overall, if the Hybrid Ceramic Wax is working for you I don't think you're missing out.
Love the channel and content...very useful stuff 👍. Hey i just applied Carpro Gliss v2 on my car as a stand-alone. Other than Carpro Reset...would you recommend HCD as a maintenance detailer or Beadmaker as I have both.
Thanks Eric! I would be more likely to use HCD on top of Gliss V2. I have not tested Bead Maker on a fresher section of Gliss V2 so I'm not sure if it would try and reduce that great hydrophobic performance that Gliss offers. HCD though should play really well with Gliss without any reduction.
I just waxed my car with Ultimate Paste Wax 2 weeks ago. Is it okay to just wash my car and after drying apply the Liquid Ceramic wax? Or do I have to clay bar it, and polish it again before?
No need to clay and polish it again, you can apply the new wax right on top of Ultimate. Now, there's all sorts of debate on whether or not this is going to destroy the durability of the new wax if you're applying this on top of another existing wax, I wouldn't worry about this. You can see in my test even after applying it on top of the Glossworkz glaze, Lava wax, V7 sealant/detailer, Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax is not having any trouble sticking and it's not just going to wash right off.
@@WaxMode Awesome thank you. I also bought the Ceramic detailer so I can use it in between washes. and the Hybrid ceramic wax spray to spray on after washing it and rinsing it off. They work great!
Good question, I would mainly be using this after I polish. You could definitely use this as a topper, but Meguiar's already has the Hybrid Ceramic Wax spray, and the Hybrid Ceramic Detailer that work perfectly for topping and maintenance. If you've already got a wax on the paint you can still go over that with Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax without issues.
What are your thoughts on liquid wax vs spray waxes in general. Like for example with Hybrid ceramic liquid wax and Hybrid ceramic spray wax would one out last the other if they estimated the durability to be near the same.
I just sealant with hybrid ceramic spray. Can i top up with ultimate quick wax and maintain with ultimate detailer or waterless wash.an waterless wash smells amazing.
Definitely, you can cross over and top up the Hybrid Ceramic Wax with the Ultimate Quik Wax or Quik Detailer if you already have them. But if you want to better keep up on the crazy hydrophobics of Hybrid Ceramic Wax, the new Hybrid Ceramic Detailer is the one you want to go with. By themselves on bare paint, the Hybrid Ceramic Detailer is much more hydrophobic compared to the Ultimate Quik Wax or Detailer. But you still won't have issues working with the Ultimate line.
This is a great question and I will need to test this in the future to see what I think. Normally I would just use one coat and maintain that with the Ceramic Detailer, but it could be possible for two coats of HCLW to outperform a single coat.
I don’t see a practical benefit of doing this, select one as your main protectant and then maintain over the months with various lighter sprays until your next reapplication of the main protectant.
I've gone through a few bottles of HCW already, and with HCD I'm going to go through this probably even faster! Very smart for the market to shift over to products that can be used after every wash and still produce a lot of performance without much effort. We use more of those up and repurchase more often. My liquid and paste waxes though will last me a lifetime.
What is the best hybrid ceramic wax you have tested so far. I bought mother’s CMX and kinda wish I would of done more research first. I wish I would of found your channel before purchasing.
Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax will be more hydrophobic, Ultimate Liquid Wax will be a bit easier to apply and remove. Both were giving me similar gloss ratings when using the glossmeter, but this is being measured on paint that is already highly polished so be aware of that. You should get months of durability out of both by themselves, but I would want to use Hybrid Ceramic Detailer as a topper on a regular basis over the Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax sections, and likewise use Ultimate Quik Wax over the Ultimate Liquid Wax sections after washes.
Yes you could do this, I would give the Ceramic Liquid Wax time to cure before topping it with anything, at least 12 hours. But I would prefer to use Hybrid Ceramic Detailer instead of D156 as a topper to the Ceramic Liquid Wax, they're more similar in chemistry and HCD will have a higher hydrophobic limit, should be able to maintain the better water behavior. But D156 or the new formula of Ultimate Quik Wax I haven't had issues on top of the Ceramic Liquid Wax.
Cheers Keith, I still haven't gotten my hands on their new M27 sealant yet, but I'm looking forward to trying that out. Been budgeting like crazy since Covid hit.
@@WaxMode oh yeah, I hear that! I haven't tried it yet either. This superstack Brian shows here looks interesting. The sealant under wax combo is so popular, it'd be fun to experiment with all four MHC products and see how it goes mixing and stacking them durability and hydrophobic wise.. 👇 ruclips.net/video/gYSs84DfCjI/видео.html
This is a retail focused product for the average car owner to apply by hand. The new M27 coming out is a pro detailer product designed to stay"wetter" longer for use with buffers.
M27 is going to be a different sealant compared to the Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax. A bit more expensive as well, and you're not going to be able to pick it up over-the-counter like you would with HCLW as far as I know. No wax in the formula, less stringent dry times, we're going to see how it compares to HCLW but the majority of the consumers will gravitate towards HCLW for the lower price and higher exposure. I don't have M27 yet so stay tuned, I'll have a review when I do get some time behind it.
I've been doing a lot of recent gloss baseline testing using various abrasives on this panel. So I had the DT156 out to check the thickness measurements. I don't think this is necessarily accurate enough to cover the pre and post-polish impacts of the abrasives on the spot, it's more to get a general sense of when we're really starting to get thin with the amount of clearcoat remaining.
Thanks Andy, yes you could use the Ultimate Quik Detailer on top of Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax. I’d rather go with the Hybrid Ceramic Detailer because it has a better hydrophobic performance and limit but the Ultimate will work fine as well.
All of these are very similar in peak gloss readings coming out of the gloss meter. If highest gloss is your main focus, you want to spend the time to really jewel the paint with the right fine abrasive polishes, as this does more for the measurable gloss of the paint rather than the specific protectant in my tests.
@@WaxMode I just checked today and it looks like detailed image has it in stock. Supposed to show up Saturday. Looking forward to testing it out myself as well as seeing your review.
These products can continue to cure after application, and if I let them sit overnight this can increase the gloss up to a certain level, usually about 0.5GU increase over 12-24 hours.
First time visitor to the channel. Does the NXT tech wax still rate in comparison to the ceramic or ultimate wax? Only ask as I still have a bottle that's largely unused. :-)
Hey Mark! NXT Tech Wax isn't going to be quite as hydrophobic as Ultimate or Hybrid Ceramic, but I still find the wax to be a joy to work with and it can hold up so long as you're topping it up on a regular basis. It was crazy because a lot of detailers back in the day were comparing the glow of NXT Tech Wax to the glow of some of the expensive and exclusive paste waxes like Zymol and Swissvax. It does look great on the paint. I used the liquid version of NXT Tech Wax a lot many years ago, I would pull out the DA polisher with a foam wax pad every few months and apply a light reapplication. Topped up with Ultimate Quik Wax after the washes and it's a great combo. Ultimate and Hybrid Ceramic should get you stronger durability and beading, but using Ultimate Quik Wax or even the new Hybrid Ceramic Detailer after washes on top of NXT Wax can help you build up a more hydrophobic surface over time.
@@WaxMode I was going to top it up with the hybrid ceramic wax spray, as I had some to hand. Haven't looked into the detailler much, but I will. Thanks. :-)
It's an interesting wax without a doubt and I like having it in the collection. Very soft texture, similar to the Turtle Wax original green paste formula. Smells incredible, reminds me of yogurt. On/off is okay, water behavior isn't anything special. I don't love it, I would like it a lot more if it was closer to $30 rather than $70. I do love the design of the logo and that frosty jar they put it in so you can see the color of the wax showing through. I prefer their Classic Paste Wax much more, which I think they have since discontinued unfortunately. I'm really wanting to get my hands on their E-Zyme Paste Wax badly. I'll have to do a video on some my favorite Chemical Guys products, I'm a bit of a fan for a variety of their line which would probably surprise some of my viewers.
Chemical Guys is great for gloss and ease of use, and most of their products that I’ve used smell fantastic. I like the glaze + wax approach, maintain with any of the spray detailers or V7, re-glaze every few months and reapply the wax and repeat. EZ Creme, Glossworkz, Black Light, I love these as that pre-wax glaze/cleaner product, all incredibly easy to use and it makes the wax just glide on when you’re working by hand. Fun stuff, not focused on ultimate protection but more for guys that like to touch and play around with the paint often.
Would you recommend using the HCW spray? I've been using the UQW spray with great results. Also, I've heard some use this ceramic for body panels in the vehicle. What's your opinion on that?
Hybrid Ceramic Wax in the blue bottle I still like this product a lot. Good for maintenance, and you can use it as a standalone protectant as long as you get a good bond to the paint. I only like to use it wet, and when I spray it I like to work it in very quickly first with a microfiber towel, then I'll blast rinse it off with the pressure washer and then blow the paint dry with the air blower. It likes that physical contact with the microfiber and the paint to get the best results I've found, but I'm not working it in very much, once you get a good foundation coat it's just a really quick wipe in after spraying it on the wet paint and then an immediate rinse off. Very fun stuff but I haven't used it in a while because I've got the other products going through pure durability tests. Ultimate Quik Wax is fantastic as well, not quite as hydrophobic as Hybrid Ceramic Wax but UQW is still a very good lighter maintenance topper and I use this either as a drying aid or fully dry. Hybrid Ceramic Detailer I like as well, a bit more hydrophobic than Ultimate Quik Wax. So you've got a ton of good options from Meguiar's for regular maintenance and it's tough to make a decision on the best one.
Hey Wax Mode! Hope you're doing well. I wanted to ask a question. I don't know if you can comment on this, but do you know which of the the waxes has greater longevity? HCLW or Ultimate Liquid Wax? Thanks! I'm not sure which one to buy and my Civic is long overdue for a new coat of wax haha.
Hey Kevin! HCLW technically should give you the better durability, but even after a few months of HCLW on the paint I have a strong desire to maintain it with something, it will definitely lose hydrophobic performance if you're not maintaining it with something like Hybrid Ceramic Detailer after that first month. Between Ultimate and HCLW, I definitely prefer HCLW.
This is an Etekcity 1022 that I picked up on Amazon about a year ago, this is the link: amzn.to/3cewjFJ They've got a bunch of different models, so far this has been working just fine without any issues.
I have seen test that show that the liquid ceramic has less durability, then the spray version isn't that strange. Then I don't see the point of that product.
@@palleh7742 In my test against Strip Down, Hybrid Ceramic Wax and Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax were both pretty much identical in terms of survivability after a heavy application. They'll take a hit but will hold up well in some areas, I didn't notice any advantage of one over the other, but I again would not translate any chemical resistance test over to a long term durability rating of the product on the paint.
@@WaxMode I think it's is a disappointment if the liquid isn't lasting better,at first they said it should last about 6 month. I think I wait for the second revision maybe next year. Though I like the spray hybrid wax and it's beading. 😀
Hello there!! I watch your videos all the time!! Great product reviews!! I am mostly a Griots user. I have been using their 3n1 Ceramic spray wax on my 2018 Golf GTD but I also use it on my ‘67 porsche (no clear coat) but on this I use it over their Premium Carnauba wax ( I like this much better than collonite 915). However I am not too impressed with 3n1 spray wax- I really like hydrophobic coatings and 3n1 ceramic wax seems to fall short on this and also on durability. I am looking for the best hydrophobicity as well as durability- you were mentioning Sonax net shield in your video. Is this one of the best for hydrophobicity? I live in Florence, Italy most of the time and the water here is on the hard side but will probably add a filter in the future on my wash bay. What do you advise I should try? Thanks for your thoughts!!! Best Regards- Aimone Castellacci
Hey thanks for the feedback Aimone! I've got the Griot's Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax going on a few months on the test car, and although it's not the most hydrophobic product, it's actually holding up really well so far at two coats. It's holding up a bit better than the new Turtle Wax Ceramic Spray Coating which is right next to it on that car. I would say that Polymer Net Shield is definitely going to be more hydrophobic, and have a bit more staying power in being able to maintain that great hydrophobicity for a longer time. But Polymer Net Shield is not a fun product to apply and remove, it's really heavy, it takes some significant wiping to get this clean off the paint. I love it because it's durable, but it takes some time and patience to get it on and buff it off, so be aware of that if you decide to go that route. Polymer Net Shield and Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer is one of the best combination of protection and maintenance that you can get without going with a full blown paint coating setup, but that combo does lack slickness.
WaxMode Thanks for your reply. What do you recommend for detail spray that would be really hydrophobic with good durability and slickness? I would use it on modern clear coated cars as well as solid color cars from the 60’s. Or should I continue with a Griots premium carnauba wax and top It off with ceramic 3n1? Thanks again!
These clips were filmed on the iPhone XR with the Osmo Mobile 3 gimbal, and then I had the GoPro Hero 5 for the first person shots. Sometimes I'll release footage that I filmed years ago on the iPhone 5S or 7 Plus but all the newer footage is with the XR.
Chemical resistance tests are useless, a real world torture test would be letting the panel sit in direct sunlight and test the ability of the sealant to withstand high temperatures. Most of the times people loose their pains protection is because they park their car in the sun, not because of impossible chemical rains. Your sealant can last for months in the shade in your garage, but how will it resist in the summer sun and high temps?
I tried all of the sprays over the years and now I only use Jet. Does Jet have the most durability? No. Does Jet have the best hydrophobics and self cleaning abilities with ease of use? Yes. Thank me later.
Very underrated channel with not enough subscribers, great review as always 👍

@@PapaSmurf918Detail A couple weeks? I wash my car a FEW times a week! Yeah, I am anal about my car. 😆, but I get ya.
Love the way you do your work. I learned a lot thanks to you about Meguiar's products and the results you can have with just consumer products.
I appreciate the feedback, thanks for the comment!
Ultimate paste wax will always be my go to mostly because I have to do my detailing outside and dont always have luxury of shade
Been anxiously awaiting the Meg's Pro Hybrid Ceramic Sealant. Not sure I want to own it and the HCLW.
The detailer is the gem in the lineup, still one of my favorite products that I've tested out this year.
We don't hear much about Megs Ultimate Fast Finish, how does it hold up in comparison to the newer products?
I love fast finish and use it ever couple months. Love it in these 110 degree summer days.
Awesome well detailed video!!

Awesome thanks for the feedback!
Thanks a lot for this reviews! Love them! Keep them coming!
Appreciate the feedback! Still can't wait to get my hands on M27, Bead Booster and the new Meguiar's coating, very hyped for these!
How much does the detailer help the ceramic wax in terms of gloss and hydrophobic properties
I bought a couple of cans of Meguiar's Fast Finish when they went on clearance at Ollie's last year. I never used them but now I'm rather curious.
Wax mode just went BOSS MODE on this vid! #gifted
Thanks Dana, let's go!!!!
14:29 care to share what product(s) you'd suggest would be better suited to hold up to degreasers and such?
Griot’s Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax, Turtle Wax Seal N Shine, Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating, products like these will show more chemical resistance in the short term when agitating Strip Down into them compared to the Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic line.
@@WaxMode sounds good, thanks :D
I need advice on what product to use to remove very fine scratches and swirls. I have a 10 Acura MDX black, I’ve gotten rid of the major defects but the fine scratches remain
Look up Meguiar’s M210 or M205 to use as your finishing polish to remove the finer hazing. Sonax Perfect Finish is another great option.
You and brian from apex detail have the best reviews
Thanks Erwin! I love Brian's reviews and awesome testing, so fun to watch and extremely informative, he does a great job on his content.
Dont sell yourself short brother you do wonderful work as well. Like you I'm a hydrophobic addict
I would absolutely love to see the comparison versus Liquid Glass Ultimate Auto Polish LG-100.
Im a big fan of ultimate line up. Easy to work with and very nice gloss
Loving them, have you tried the updated Ultimate Quik Wax or Detailer yet? Saw them all at Walmart today with the Hybrid Ceramic line as well.
@@WaxMode no I have not yet. I will have to try that but I want to try the M27 first topping it with bead booster.
@@WaxMode yeah I'm using that now just strange how it looses its glide..feels almost bare..but whatever..thankyou..and great videos!!!
Good point, Ultimate working by hand, will be more enjoyable. This is important, you dont want to dream the process
Could you do a video on your favorite products like favorite sealant and wax?
I'm a wax addict, I like too many products that it would be hard for me to narrow the choices down. I'll see what I can do!
@@WaxMode whats the most hydrophobic short term and long term bro? Fusso.. 915.. Fk1000.. 🤔
Thanks
@@mrlionrocks Fusso is definitely up there, I think the most hydrophobic at the very start that I've tested is still Sonax Polymer Net Shield. Not a fun product to apply and remove at all, but the results are undeniable. CQUK has been the best product I've tested as far as maintaining its crazy hydrophobics for the longest period. Can Coat, FK1000P, and 915 are very good in the short term as well. It's a good topic for a video!
@@WaxMode you have very similar opinions to me 👍🏻
Superb review my friend !!
@@WaxMode The Ethos ceramic wax and refresh give fantastic gloss though.
Great video once again. Totally, unbiased review.
Have you tried Technicians Choice Ceramic Deatil Spray?
Haven’t picked up TEC yet, out of cash! Doing some paint repairs myself on a few panels of the E28 to be able to do some videos with it.
@@WaxMode I have noticed that HCLW application is grabby, not like DGPS. Let's see how it performs on next weeks car wash.
On top of wax worked here, using the wax to hide and bring up the color then adding ceramic worked just fine..
How does the Gold Class Carnauba Plus Wax compare to the Ultimate Paste Wax and the Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax?
Hybrid will last longer gold class will be glossier
I use the Ceramic Wax spray. Haven't got the detailer because every time I think about it, I think of just washing the whole car instead. Do you think I'm missing out?
If you prefer to work with products after the car is fully dry, the Detailer is the one to go with. The Hybrid Ceramic Wax (spray), I only like using this wet and working it in with the towel and then rinsing right off, but sometimes it's just too hot out and sunny to be using HCW, in that case I like to have the car fully dried off, then I'll top up the protection with the detailer. Overall, if the Hybrid Ceramic Wax is working for you I don't think you're missing out.
great testing effort and education
Love the channel and content...very useful stuff 👍. Hey i just applied Carpro Gliss v2 on my car as a stand-alone. Other than Carpro Reset...would you recommend HCD as a maintenance detailer or Beadmaker as I have both.
Thanks Eric! I would be more likely to use HCD on top of Gliss V2. I have not tested Bead Maker on a fresher section of Gliss V2 so I'm not sure if it would try and reduce that great hydrophobic performance that Gliss offers. HCD though should play really well with Gliss without any reduction.
@@WaxMode Awesome I think you're right and thanks for the reply. Plus BM smells decent...but HCD wins the scent test for sure lol.
Is the meguiars hybrid ceramic liquid wax just a topper or is it a wax to use after you polish?
Good question, I would mainly be using this after I polish. You could definitely use this as a topper, but Meguiar's already has the Hybrid Ceramic Wax spray, and the Hybrid Ceramic Detailer that work perfectly for topping and maintenance. If you've already got a wax on the paint you can still go over that with Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax without issues.
which is the best car wax? how much months does it lasts??
previously used meguiars ultimate paste wax... is it hybrid liquid ceramic wax better??
What are your thoughts on liquid wax vs spray waxes in general. Like for example with Hybrid ceramic liquid wax and Hybrid ceramic spray wax would one out last the other if they estimated the durability to be near the same.
Liquid is better than spray
Great video as always.
@@WaxMode THANKYOU!
can you use these ceramics on the piano black areas also with the same application process?
Yes, you shouldn't have any problems using them on the piano black areas.
Thanks!
Fantastic review thank you
Juan Perez - Thanks so much Juan!
Is it ideal to double layer the Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax?
This is a great question and I will need to test this in the future to see what I think. Normally I would just use one coat and maintain that with the Ceramic Detailer, but it could be possible for two coats of HCLW to outperform a single coat.
Love me some wax for my own cars but with customers cars I prefer. Ceramic spray coating from turtle wax just saves me so much time and energy.
I have a quick question, can you apply ultimate liquid polish and apply hybrid ceramic liquid wax right after?
I don’t see a practical benefit of doing this, select one as your main protectant and then maintain over the months with various lighter sprays until your next reapplication of the main protectant.
Wow!! Poor boys strip down are way op
Are you suppose to apply the hybrid ceramic when the car is wet? Or when its dry?
Dry
The "Spray and wipe" types have definitely spoiled me.
Sorry my english, but which wax would be better Hybrid Ceramic or Ultimate liquid wax.
Would hybrid ceramic have less shine ??
WaxMode thanks for, information can i apply the hybrid ceramic, with an orbital rupture? normally?
thank you
Can you apply the ceramic liquid wax and then detail with the d156 spray wax?
Yes you could do this, I would give the Ceramic Liquid Wax time to cure before topping it with anything, at least 12 hours. But I would prefer to use Hybrid Ceramic Detailer instead of D156 as a topper to the Ceramic Liquid Wax, they're more similar in chemistry and HCD will have a higher hydrophobic limit, should be able to maintain the better water behavior. But D156 or the new formula of Ultimate Quik Wax I haven't had issues on top of the Ceramic Liquid Wax.
Great content, thank you! What do you think of their synthetic Hybrid Ceramic Sealant? 👍👌✌
ruclips.net/video/gYSs84DfCjI/видео.html
I’m just wondering the point of releasing this when they have a superior Sealant coming out.
What’s the paint depth gauge for I have the same one would like to see a review mines cem dt156
Awesome helpful video.Could I use ceramic liquid wax and ultimate quick detailer as top up
Thanks Andy, yes you could use the Ultimate Quik Detailer on top of Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax. I’d rather go with the Hybrid Ceramic Detailer because it has a better hydrophobic performance and limit but the Ultimate will work fine as well.
WaxMode Thanks.Subscribed
which one of them has the highest gloss?
All of these are very similar in peak gloss readings coming out of the gloss meter. If highest gloss is your main focus, you want to spend the time to really jewel the paint with the right fine abrasive polishes, as this does more for the measurable gloss of the paint rather than the specific protectant in my tests.
Will you be testing Meguiar's M27 (the hybrid ceramic sealant)? I ordered a 16oz bottle late yesterday but haven't seen anyone reviewing it as of yet.
Yes I will definitely get my hands on M27 for testing in the future, let me know your thoughts once you get some time with it!
Are you going to test the new Meguiars M27? Supposedly it's similar to the Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax, but better in almost every way.
Oh yes! M27 is one of my most anticipated products this year so definitely expect a video once I get my hands on it.
@@WaxMode I just checked today and it looks like detailed image has it in stock. Supposed to show up Saturday. Looking forward to testing it out myself as well as seeing your review.
Nothing beat Turtle Wax spray and seal, longest lasting stuff I ever used, and cheap!
Does Sio2 get more gloss after time
These products can continue to cure after application, and if I let them sit overnight this can increase the gloss up to a certain level, usually about 0.5GU increase over 12-24 hours.
Thanks. :-)
Thought about getting CG’s Lava just because I wanted it, what’s ur thoughts on it ?
WaxMode Do you like it for the durability, or the gloss that it gives you?
Chemical Guys is great for gloss and ease of use, and most of their products that I’ve used smell fantastic. I like the glaze + wax approach, maintain with any of the spray detailers or V7, re-glaze every few months and reapply the wax and repeat. EZ Creme, Glossworkz, Black Light, I love these as that pre-wax glaze/cleaner product, all incredibly easy to use and it makes the wax just glide on when you’re working by hand. Fun stuff, not focused on ultimate protection but more for guys that like to touch and play around with the paint often.
WaxMode much appreciated I’m gonna take a try on it see how it works for me
Would you recommend using the HCW spray?
Between Ultimate and HCLW, I definitely prefer HCLW.
whats the thermometer you use
This is an Etekcity 1022 that I picked up on Amazon about a year ago, this is the link: amzn.to/3cewjFJ
They've got a bunch of different models, so far this has been working just fine without any issues.
I’m sticking with the Ultimate.
Your the man!
Thanks Matt!
Ive been using Technicians Choice spray wax. Pretty durable.
I've been getting a ton of recommendations to try Technician's Choice out, I haven't purchased any yet but possibly in the future.
I have seen test that show that the liquid ceramic has less durability, then the spray version isn't that strange. Then I don't see the point of that product.
Was this a chemical resistance test or a long term test?
@@WaxMode A chemical resistance test.
Or should I continue with a Griots premium carnauba wax and top
It off with ceramic 3n1? Thanks again!

New camera? Looks like better quality video
FIRST!!😄😄 now I will watch!
