Amazing video! no beating around the bush and good points you brought up. I have only been using anki so far when I study, but after watching this video notion seems like a solid alternative. Keep up the good work!
I turned really to hate anki because the demotivation of flashcards. But in Notion it feels for me just like notetaking with was not really effective for me. However I now create just clozes in Notion as short mnemonics and then export it with a web tool to anki. The short cloze cards motivate me to rethink my knowledge every time which help me to build stronger connections. This is for me as an econmics student more effective due to the many concepts in my subject.
agree with you that anki is bad for weak point optimisation, I always need to do a lot more than I didn't remember. However, I think we can solve the problem by picking up the leech card or red flag card in one deck, and creating a new deck about them. By doing it to the new deck again and again, we can select the weakest point we want to strengthen. The other point is that before making anki cards, we study the chapter and doing note for 4 or 5 time, then we are familiar with the content, so we will do less card than we used to do.
I have been using anki for about three years to learn languages / IT stuff. Specifically on the IT decks, no matter how many sub decks you have, the lack of context it's really a pain sometimes. Take the topic of networking for instance, it has a lot of subdomains that overlap easily, so there are times when you have to give a full context (to know where you really are) before the actual question (like two paragraphs with images /schemes). Sometimes you gotta give this context repeatedly on related cards. And even doing this, you have a sensation that something is off / missing. And besides that, if you want to review a certain topic (mind-maps, drawings, summary) to study freely, anki isn't the option :/ I think I am gonna give Notion a try. I hope they offer a Linux version. Thanks man! subscribed.
Great video man, as Always! However I disagree on the point about color coding. I understand the color coding system you use but if efficiency is the most important thing (like for me), that system seems a bit too manual, also you risk thinking “oh I already know this one” (don’t remember the name of this phenomenon). Regarding the feeling of Anki being a Huuge burden needing a lot of energy, I agree 100% haha and I have to work with that every single day lol. And again, amazing video!
Thanks mate! That’s a totally fair objection and I reckoned that there would be quite a few who would disagree there! As long as one gets the work done, it’s all good hahah🤙🏽
Hi Arham, would you say Anki was likely a much better app than Notion would’ve been in your earlier med school years? Since those are the years one may be uncertain of the exact concepts and areas of weakness thus hundreds of flashcards popping up for re-runs in such a case saved you from missing out on revisiting some of the few/many you would deem important to visit had you had the knowledge of your sheer weakness on them? Also your videos are great! I just found your channel today upon searching ‘notion vs anki’ on RUclips. Also I’ll be starting med in Sept! InshaAllah I do well! Just going through some chemistry now. Love from London, England🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
y'all week, real men use excel to study uwu. No for real, I do that '_' : big time efficiency, no card making, just straight to the point For real it's da best especially if you have "visual memory", I just hate multiplying learning mediums for the same god damn topic jeez. Just one same medium and that's it. I don't like to brag but i study less and get better grades than some classmates (so yeah efficiency), and I don't have a superior memory since ive noticed a significant grade increase with excel use. Correlation or coincidence idk but its working so far e_e

Def give it a try! Thanks fam ✊🏾

That def makes sense!
Anki doesn't cost 200 US dollars on IOS. It's actually 25 US dollars.
I meant 200 NOK 😅
@@ArhamSheikh It is actually a small price to pay to support the ecosystem.
Why don’t you use Remnote? It’s Notion+ Anki at the same time
Totally agree, Remnote is best
What about Remnote??
Crap note?
@@malcolmjelani3588 why the bad words
Wow, useful video Arham!!
Thanks fam♨️

thats a good point 😄
You have a good point. In the exams we are asked in a systematic manner.
Exactly!

loving it fam
So you liked it?
is it ideal to start med school after a bachelore in Microbiology
You’d surely have an advantage in particular subjects like microbiology, infectiology etc
Would you prefer Anki or Notion in a language learning context?
Anki in that case

Think that's maybe Recognition Bias - you remember seeing the topic before but not necessarily the content
What is the best website for study books as the website you told is good but cant find my books and any other bro?

Mind explaining more in detail how you're using Excel to study?
