    John Scofield - yasssss! And Tal is so very versatile. Her heart is in jazz, and she's a hard rocker. Saw her many times now, most recently in December backing the Allman-Betts Family Revival and she really held the engine room together. This is a great performance - thanks for posting.

    Since Tal developed finger strength she has become great. Back when she was little (with Jeff Beck) she couldn't really grip the strings and all her notes rattled.

      ...yeah- that Beck guy always picks inferior bass players?😆

    • @donepearce
      @donepearce 8 месяцев назад

      @@greenlightwilly He was right to pick her because of her technique, and his determination to give players a chance. But listen to her back then and compare to her recent work. Back then was a lot of fret rattle, now her sound is perfectly clean. Finger strength is the difference.

    • @axetu
      @axetu 5 месяцев назад

      @donepearce finger strength is a factor for a little kid learning to play, not for the seasoned Tal. She was no beginner with Beck. Fret buzz has more to do with action set up, how straight your guitar is, and what your pickups are sending to the amp

    • @donepearce
      @donepearce 5 месяцев назад

      @@axetu just no. I am both a player and a luthier and I can recognisecfret buzz when i hear it. Sadowitz sponsored her bass and would never have given it to her in an unplayable condition. As a last resort Jeff's tech would have sorted it out before she stepped on stage.

    • @axetu

      @@vernhillbass905 Where did someone state he would be a better musician? Also it is absolutely relevant if one likes music or not. That is what it is all about. It only matters if music touches you in some way. If it does not, it is not "good" music for you. That leaves someone else open to love it! Enjoy the performance, when you do. But everybody has the same right to find that performance boring, non-touching or whatever! And technical great musicians do not always make the music which touches you most, btw.
