That could definitely be important, but i find the Air has plenty enough ram for art, at my normal resolution which is higher than 4k I still get 49 layers and that has never held me back, I've been doing commissions and art on the M2 Air now for 9 months and it has still held up well, the biggest thing holding me back with it currently is the 128gb of storage, in hindsight I should have definitely went for atleast 512gb but really it's not necessary for professional work, just a nice to have. In my experience anyway. Just a little annoying dealing with the storage management, I may make another video soon going over some more things and my experience so far.
@ I would love that! I’m about to buy an iPad for art in college, so I REALLY appreciate your response! I was considering going 128GB so I’ll probably up that to 256 at least
@@AlliePaints of course! the M2 Air would be perfect for college. it has amazing battery life. and very snappy. definitely go for at least the 256GB storage. more if able. but even if 128 is all you can get. I think that would be fine also. just look into getting an external SSD. I have a 2 tb SSD I plug in and transfer everything important to clear up space when needed!
@ I was considering going 13” pro with 16gb ram because iPads are supported for so long that getting the best specs now would perform the best longest, but it’s so much more expensive that it’s hard to justify
The thing is the 16gb is literally locked behind the 1TB models and it’s so expensive, like the price jump between the 512gb to 1 tb is so freaking massive though if budget wasn’t a problem i would definitely go to the 16gb one but sadly i’ll just hold off with my ipad 9th gen for a while 😅
Samsung displays are notoriously bad when it comes to burn in. Apple’s displays on the other hand have never had even the faintest hint of burn in from any that I’ve seen. (And yes, I know Samsung manufactures many of Apple’s displays)
I definitely want to wait couple more years to see from artist if they have burn in, or if I can just have disposable income, I would invest in one just to test myself if general art usage work loads would cause burn in
Usually yes around that many hours per day, but alot of days I spend upwards of 8 or 10 hours, and then I usually take 1 day to rest usually Sunday or Saturday.
@@piggytsai2226 I lack motivation most days. but I have disciplined myself to do it even when I feel burned out or tired. usually if I feel burned out though I try to do studies or different type of sketches than my normal finished paintings. and I find I learn the most during those. and then I get inspired to create something with the new stuff I've learned. Then the cycle endlessly repeats its self. The only constant is that I continue to draw and do it over again.
Hello I just want to ask. How’s the performance of iPad air m2 in gaming and also how’s the battery life? Any heating issue encountered? Planning to buy soon. I want to buy pro but it will cost me 700 more dollars haha. Air(500usd) vs pro m4(1200usd). It’s hard to find m2 ipad pro here in my country.. Thanks!
The m2 Air is honestly really good for gaming! I haven't gamed a crazy amount on it, but I have enough to know it's a power house and you would be more than happy to use it for that, the battery is anywhere from around 6 to 10 hours I would say, basically I've never had to worry about the battery life, and I also never encountered any overheating while gaming, only while doing really heavy workloads with art related stuff (8k file sizes and lots of layers while screen recording)
I have the ipad air m1 and the apple pencil gen 2. I am planning to upgrade my ipad to a wider screen. So I am debating either to go pro on the tablet screen or go pro on the apple pencil. Ipad pro 2022 with my old pencil or ipad air 13” with the apple pencil pro?
it really depends on your workflow and what you will be drawing most with the ipad. for me I like to do a lot of rendering, and painting. so the pro pencil is a must. since I use that squeeze function to color pick with zero delay. if you will be doing more sketching, then I would say go for the ipad pro 2022.
60hz is normal in the professional field with all the major drawing tablet brands. Wacom, Huion. and XPPEN. it is the standard. sure 120hz is nice, but not necessary and 60 still feels perfect to draw on.
@TakedaClanBelgrade it will definitely be smoother, but I dont see it as an issue when drawing. I have an android tablet that is also 120hz and I still choose to draw on the iPad, and the real life difference when drawing doesn't feel much, now If you are gaming or something then sure I would understand it more, but strictly for drawing and media consumption, it feels good enough for me, and I draw daily for multiple hours at a time
imo, its a trade off for the new apple pencil pro. Many artists, even those who are always skeptical about suggesting an upgrade to a newer model, are actually very enthusiastic and recommending other artists to upgrade for the new ipads just to get the apple pencil pro. And for many, that pencil is worth wayyy more than the 120hz display.
@@rubyred186 exactly, the apple pencil pro was that for me, those features takes the ipad from a good sketching experience, to fully being able to replace my desktop setup, since now ,I can use the double tap, and the squeeze for different functions, as well as the barrel roll feature. for me, there was just no other option, since I mainly like to paint and render.
I thought about the but, it isn't compatible with the apple pencil pro. and the features on it makes a difference when using it for art. which is the main reason I got it.
When someone said last generation ipad pro same price as ipad air, it is a big lie. Probably same price for used ipad pro last year model. And nobody wants a used ipad. We all buy new
I might’ve missed it but did you get the 13 inch iPad air?
It’s the 13inch if it’s the iPad by the Samsung tablet
sorry for the late reply I thought I had responded already. yes I have the 13inch iPad Air with the apple pencil pro.

So no comment on how the pro has a model with double the ram? It has a direct impact on how many layers you can have in each project

I would love to, though funds are limited so Ill have to do them on the products I already own. All art related of course.
