The G6-01 is awesome. I love mine, too. Hope the one who had put the bearings in the bag made a mistake an pput one too many in it. The Camel stickers are great for a school bus🤣🤣🤣 For dirt tracks 4WS is fun, but I don't run brushless. So I cannot speak for high speeds.
Oh yeah I love the G6-01's. I've got the Volvo Hauler and Konghead. I've also got the GF-01 Dump Truck and I could do a video of it with the Volvo like you say. I think that the metal bearings will wear better than the bushings and you'd have big problems if the gears aren't meshing properly because the bushings are worn. I've done the rear steer and really recommend it because it's a whole new driving experience and you can steer under power and going up steep hills. I broke the bumper mount in about 5 minutes and I've done a mod to use a Lunchbox bumper which is on my channel somewhere (one with the Konghead and one slightly different on the Dump Truck). You still get the bounce so don't worry. Great overview Mike 🙂
Jeez, your Tamiya collection!! Yeah, that's a good point. Hopefully, he doesn't have any issues. That surprises me about the rear steer, as I found it changes direction well and is already prone to toppling. Hmm... I'll have to take a look at that, because I cannot risk losing the badoing!
Hiya from across the pond, I'm a little late to the party but had to share: your enthusiasm made me pull the trigger on buying one for myself! "Just buy it" he says. "Aye Captain" my reply! I love a goofy RC: my Eachine EAT14, WPL D12, and Comical Grasshopper will never sit with the _Cool Kids_ during lunch, but I drive them way more than any of the serious cars! My bearing kit beat the slow boat from China carrying the Bus, as did the shocks and sway bars, leaving me with time to think about 4WS: what parts will I need to implement that, good sir? I'll be installing two FPV cameras and a flight controller (for ArduRover waypoints, and full 'riding in a Bus' experience) and will need to navigate some tight turns in my office. Or do you think standard steering will do?
Greetings and welcome! Good man! I absolutely agree. I had an Arrma Vorteks. Ran it a few times and then sold it. It didn't gel with me. My Lunch Box... had it for years! Everything you need for 4WS is included. You just need a servo and a way of powering/controlling it (independent radio channel, or simply a splitter cable). That's fantastic idea! I'd love to see the results. Honestly, I find 2WS more than enough, because she steps-out really easy. Bit of power and round she goes! However, it's up to you and cheap to try. Have fun!
🧐💯❤. Thank you for your advice/help! 🤔 I’m thinking, maybe utilizing some spacers under the front suspension only would help with nosediving? Would a ceramic bearing kit have any advantages/benefit over the regular bearing kit in terms of friction? Thanks for your input, I’m trying to figure out how/what are the best modifications to add/ address to the initial build,( before as to avoid the hassle of tear down). I am going with a Kong Head.
You're very welcome! Sorry for the late reply. It would, but I actually adore the way this drives and wouldn't change a thing about it. Technically, yes, but I wouldn't pay the extra money for ceramic bearings on a basher RC. Much less a silly truck like this. I'd only consider that for a race car. Initial build: rubber shielded bearings (or, metal shielded in the gearbox and rubber elsewhere) and oil-filled shocks. It's a hoot to drive and I'm sure you'll love it. Enjoy!
Just finished putting my Konghead together with a 3500kv traxxas set up. Did you have to glue your tires? I should probably just do that, but if your's stayed on, maybe mine will too lol
@@TheRCScotsman just ran it for the first time, honestly I don't think I need any glue. Mine has a 3500 kv motor and it doesn't seem anywhere even close to flinging the tires off. What I did order today tho, was some foam inserts.

Hey mate great video i just purchased the king yellow recently just finished building it yours sounds like it has metal gears if you don’t mind me asking is it and where did you get them
Hi there. Thank you! Mine is using all the standard gears, apart from the RW Racing steel pinion. You get that from Modelsport. The only upgrades, apart from the pinion, are a full bearing kit, oil shocks and foam tyre inserts. The rest is standard.
@@TheRCScotsman thanks was curious I should’ve boughten the bearing kit before assembling mine haven’t even painted it yet cause i need paint but don’t wanna use tamiya i know what’ll happen if I don’t though

I also hope so! Seems that way.
Yeah, I look forward to trying it on dirt.
Thanks for the video and shout out Bud. Such a cool build, can't wait to see it in action. Nice work👍👍
No worries!
I've got cool upgrades on mine
Like what? Also how durable has it been after all this time?
Greetings!
Hello there!
Probably the only difference that there will be is in the runtime Mike, as the bearing kit will have slightly less drag.
Could well be the case, David.
That thing would make a great APC
Now, THAT'S a great idea! Get to it!
Woof, I do fancy one of those, now and again I see it going on sale, so next time I may pull the trigger! 👍 Thanks for the info on it

Yes, I glued them on, but not all the way round. Just spots every little while. Perfectly adequate for this type of thing.

Mike, is there any scope to use this chassis for your Tonka RV conversion project?
Hmm... well, I already have a chassis for that, buuuut... It could possibly fit! MIGHT lose the scale aspect, though!
