For big cars I need to travel to a nearby park then deal with the swarm of children it ends up a bit of a hassle... The only problem with the mojave grom that it is getting a bit boring, so this might be a good next truck seems to be a good balance in size and performance. Nice video, thanks!
Now let's see a challenge video against some of the other 1/12 size bashers! Curious how it compares to the Omni Terminator, the HBX 2997a, and other similar sized trucks! Also makes it a good name brand vs budget video!
I live in the U.S.A, I started collecting remote control vehicles I watch your videos all the time and I have learn a lot from you thank you so much for sharing your videos.
I just picked one up yesterday in green. The local store had it for $250 with $5 off. I wanted to get the new Vorteks 223s but it was not available. I' only drove it around my yard for a short time. It seems fast and durable enough for my use. I don't plan on doing any extreme bashing with it. I don't like that you need to use Traxxas batteries and chargers. It's a bit more expensive than other Chinese brands but it's also bigger than other 1/16 scale vehicles. So far so good.
They haven't caught up the HPI Savage XS is a 13 year old truck that is much better in almost every way. Traxxa$$ will no doubt do the usual and bring a VXL version out for about £500.
The brushless Rlaarlo Omni Terminator Carbon is a similar size, but it's got a center differential, accepts 2S or 3S(comes with a 3S 2200 battery), has threaded metal adjustable preload shocks, a gyro, adjustable ride height, and the transmitter is WAY better. It's super durable and can be had for $200-$250 depending on the time of day, lol. I do like the BL2 system, and in my experience Traxass batteries are really good, but the truck as it sits now is overpriced. Great video, and despite your usual (and well deserved!) Traxass (yes ass) trash talk, very neutral and seemingly unbiased. Well done!!

Needs the 3S at least system in it. I thought you were going to break it on that landing that probably did break it. I don't think I have a single vehicle that walks away from that kind of landing without some sort of damage. Traxxas putting that 2S system in crap is what makes it "tough", because it's not fast and you can't speed it up. 30mph didn't sound slow until you ran it on that track and saw it took every bit it had just to clear those jumps. 40mph gives you big jump speed and 50mph gives you big air control. 30mph gives you lawn darts!

Holy 💩! Did Phil find a Traxxas he loves and AND he didn't have all the elements aligned and change half the drive train to hit their claimed speed! I love it!
i think the reason traxxas makes the rear lower is to absorb shocks and landings better, you can also notice how suspensions are at an angle and theyre placed in front of the arms. but this is just opinion, im no expert
Whats annoying is that hpi had an rc truck called the mini recon and it went close to 30 with the right gearing.. It was about the same size and it was brushed.looks like an ok little truck from traxxas. Like the black one. Speed isn't directly proportional to power. It needs high gearing to get maximum speed on a smooth surface but lower gearing will give the best performance off road.

Shudda went appliance electronics
There were loads in stock over the weekend
Saw one of these today at the LHS. You lot have some nice places to drive there!
What's it like size wise compared to the MT10 Phil?
It would be neat to see you upgrade this mini! I think 3s would be perfect to get those flips.
Whats annoying is that hpi had an rc truck called the mini recon and it went close to 30 with the right gearing.. It was about the same size and it was brushed.looks like an ok little truck from traxxas. Like the black one. Just picked up the jato 4x4 and kind of like it for spec class racing although I am problemly going to make it 4s or 6s soon.
I saw the missing drive shaft on the Smyter lol 🙈 OCD with a touch of the TISM and I notice EVERYTHING 😅
I already ordered a max10 g2, new motor and a servo for mine. Hopefully Vitavon gets cranking on the parts for it.
Yes!! I was hoping to see a vxl system in it. Traxxas claims 50+mph with it on 3s.
They are not far off 😇
As a skate park basher that is going to break why not just buy an mjx hyper go 16208. That's just my opinion. Don't hate me for it haha
@@craigknox8516 I agree. Lot less money for something you’re trying to break! Plus, after market for the mini MJX’s is unreal, along with the prices on those parts. Also, I get my replacement parts from AllieExpress in 7 to 10 days.
Yep.. everything breaks, just some more than others 😅
@TomleyRC yeah true mate haha. Other than the spare gear getting chewed up my mjx it just doesn't seem to want to break 😂 sometimes when I'm on my last battery and it's nearly dead I proppa risk it and send it high and hard. I cringe when it lands but it doesn't break hahaha
Waht the Heck... 300€ 😮
Should be little more wider.. Its like Maxx V1
I bet it’s coming once the mini maxx hype is over so Traxxas can release the mini wide maxx so rack in more money, like they did with the maxx.
Speed isn't directly proportional to power. It needs high gearing to get maximum speed on a smooth surface but lower gearing will give the best performance off road.
Yeah I know
Lol. Wow.
For this price Id rather have the Rlaaro Omni-Terminator
We call that the Carolina Squat 😂
@@Lyf3style MJX mini’s are the same, but I could adjust it by different shock mounting and spring compression.
There's a reason Arrma avoided a new brushless Granite Grom. The center of gravity is too high. So many videos showing it being unstable and floppy.
Gravity is a hoax.
I've not bought one yet as I was hoping you would, and im glad you did. The thing I don't like is that there is no body protection included, instead you have to buy it separately, same for the wheelie bar. I will still buy one anyway, but when the roof protection.
As I've said before Phil, you need to try the Maxx v2. It's a great truck 😊
Love the jumper you were wearing! Showing your age putting the preloads on the front mate 😂
This looks sized to be a direct competitor to the Omni Terminator. Price wise it's closer to much bigger trucks. Mini Max versus OT comparison video coming soon??
Drinking game - how many time can you hit the same puddle that you are trying avoid! lol Great video!
😅
do you think stadium truck wheels and tires would fit the mini maxx or would the size be to small or to big
4:49
😂😂🤣😂
NICE TROLL 🤣😂
that hoodie was too funny XD Tell you what that Mini Maxx is really impressive, wasn't expecting it to be like that at all to be honest!
Awesome bashing and review, Phil!!! 😃
Remember that "kamtom" little car, a 1/32 for 35 dollars if I'm not mistaken? Yeah, mine just arrived... A friend liked it, but when I went to look for it for him... It's sold out everywhere! 😳
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Oh… I’ll have to have a look. I’ve got a couple still to review
It's no Merv & . sorry Traxxas. Fun starts @ 40 + in the 21 st Century.
Kin ell Phil - thought Talbot had nicked the tx off ya 😉 😂 "Dont hit me ......... Don't hit my car "😂 "Forgot it was there " 🫣🤣🤣 Hurry up & get it uploaded Mr .T 🙏
Is that an open vented brushless motor?
Awesome little car and it shows they are durable looking at your video hitting tree n landing badly few times I like it n the maxx sits low at the back too
Awesome job on the video Phil👍👍 BTW why do you think that Traxxas didn't bother adding a wheelie bar to it?
They found the right sweetest spot with the size of that one... Will be a top seller imo (with me buying one too)
Nice overview, sir!
Was wondering if you have a video of how you attach the cam to the transmitter? If I understand correctly, this is how you set it up. Thanks!
Nice litle preview of the next episode of tomleyrc😂. You should have done a dragonballz voice over for that: "will Phil not hit hem self, is mini max going to break speed records? Stay tuned for the exiting conclusion in the next episode of tom ley rc" 😅
Sorry I'm not on my meds..😅
Haha
I wana see the size comparison with the 1/16 summit
It’s pretty much the same. I’ll try and remember in the next video 👌
You was missing a axle in the green one lol just saying I noticed 😁
i love your hoodie jacket.
did you ran out of firewood? TOMMY SOLD HIS SOUL
