Great job with the answers Martin, this has been fun to hear what people think. It was funny about the owner of the shop, all the talking. I have visited stores like that and it drives me nuts. I don’t mind talking but I also like to concentrate on shopping and enjoy some quiet time. Some owners never talk which is also frustrating
Yeah the extremes, quiet speechless doesn't sit comfortably with me either. I noticed though if I'm quieter at record fairs selling I can sell more. Must be my hard selling technique 😜
Good evening Martin. Nice to see you again on this Thursday evening. I will get back to the vinyl finds in a second comment. I did want to say thank you very much for the nice shout-out after mentioning your decade long fantastic channel. I remember Staffs Owl John. He still checks in from time to time. Actually I have not heard from him in a comment for about two years now. But I always loved his channel. Another great VC friend that I miss very much. Back to VD & RM's questions. You are answering them as classy as always~ Rob/Boston Comment One of ?
I couldn't remember others from that long ago and apart from you and Staffs John my mind went black. I guess DereckVon but he's more a separate entity and focused on plugging his music too (to make a living, fair enough). Thanks for watching have a good weekend, nearly there!
Hi Martin. Shame about the Hay Fever. I just get itchy this time of year... Interesting to see those mini-discs. They seemed very short lived as a format, though I remember a friend having loads of them because he thought they were the future. Some nice £1 purchases and I really must buy that new Church album. Eating in a video. Now that would be something! Take care, John.
Thanks John. Hayfever is bad inland, I want to move near the sea (or preferably in it, Fawlty Towers gag there). I forget why I bought minidiscs, only because I'd had enough of tapes and they looked cool. I was tricked by the advert. MP3 was probably already on their way. The Church is a grower, some is more instant than other bits, thanks again for watching.
Hi Martin. Le Mars Volta is a band I've never given serious attention to. I got one of their albums from the library many years ago and quite liked it but didn't take it any further. I'll stream their stuff and see what I think again. I've been listening to Saved a lot recently, very good album and underrated in his catalogue I think.
Hi Martin, Epic stuff. Did I see on another thread , you may be doing a stall at Reading Record Fair? I’m in London the weekend & thought I’d pop in to the fair on the way home, so if you are I might spot you.
I'll be there yes though it's big so as before I've no idea where I get slung (into a corner maybe) - if you are there later on maybe pack up grab a pint and chat? Otherwise come and buy some crap I don't wanna take home again 😁 actually I have some VCLT very specific for you which I'm presuming maybe you won't possibly have 🤔😉
Some great answers Martin, and couple of intriguing exotic records, any specs on that one from some "Absurdistan" country? Best Bean moment ever has to that one where he is forced to give a speech and realised that audience is actually liking it. Cheers.
Hi Martin, I might need to watch this in instalments. I have really enjoyed the Mr Benn album...Your life is completed by the Mars Volta...I would like to know what you think of the Church album...Interesting £1 finds - I'll be back for the questions
No complaints about the run time here. I'm at home sniffling as hard as I can so that I don't drip in my coffee. Good lazy Saturday viewing for resting up for an evening concert. Nice to see Bob's Saved album. It's certainly his most energetic record. I love it (even though it has a charismatic Pentecostal vibe.) The Wikipedia article shares some of the stinky comments made by reviewers. From Rolling Stone's Kurt Loder: "he's too inventive, too big for the genre." Tone deaf elitism. Fun answers as always. Cheers, Jacob
Thank you. I'm sniffling too but hayfever related. How you getting on with the inspiral carpets? Etc? Pentecostal is cool but 'happy clappy' is white, often middle class and embarrassing. Bob Dylan still plods on I nearly bought his most recent one the conspiracy related album but decided maybe I don't want to fill my head with someone else's when I've enough of my own anecdotes.
@@ThevinylscavengerI haven't had much time/energy to play records lately between getting buried with work and facing the hurdles of a series of minor inconveniences/calamities. Slept all day yesterday to have the energy to go out for a couple of hours last night. ---- Have allowed myself the little free time/energy available to prep for the comedy contest. ---- Hoping things will lighten a bit soon. Back down to 99 subs, so there is a fine opportunity ahead to throw myself a 100 subs party video.
Mr Benn, I must have missed this on RSD else it would definitely have been in my RSD video, without question. Cant help thinking the theme tune would make a good intro for the 'UK' vinyl community. I get what you say about Kraftwerk, German mentality/mindset does suit them. Would they have been so successful if they had been Danish? I don't think so. You made me think of the German release of a Clockwork Orange (Uhrwerk Orange) which I have, and seems, in a similar way to be more appropriate re Beethoven etc. I like the way you refused to do a new vid until your last vid got a 100 views! I don't know about you but I have noticed that whereas a vid might take 3/4 days to get a bit of traction (if its going to) , its now taking a week n 1/2 to 2 weeks to do the same thing. I assume, due to the YT shorts thingy screwing things up/sideways. I'll have to come back for part 2, ze questions.
Yeah we need a theme toon, write the theme toon sing the theme toon 😄 German is authoritative language, Danish more like someone has a hot potato in their mouth like Dutch..... The reason you are probably right 2-3 weeks backlog of videos, sometimes takes me months to watch longer videos. Cheers.
@@Thevinylscavenger I got through it, cheesy graphics?!! If you scheduled a video for some time after your death, I would like to see the faces when people get an alert 'Hi there, my death video', great idea.
Martin, are you aware of Ross Goodall? He has really got into The Church in the last year or so and has featured them quite a lot in his videos recently.
Martin, you could of made three separate videos out of this video, I laughed when you said about the I'm dead video, I guess you could if you upload one and scheduled it in the future, that way if you was to kick the bucket you wouldn't have do anything, not that you could anyway, could start of with a "time you watch this video I will be dead" and could even fake your own death, that will go down like a lead balloon, joking aside many thanks for doing a response video

I will have to revisit the Bean. I suppose I could try Shazam app might know the Melodiya one? I need a friend with Russian to translate them.

I'm selling at Reading coming up next B/H. It's going to be the last one at the leisure centre, they are moving to the university.
