@Rob Basque Snopes is pretty reliable as they cite sources, but that really doesn't have anything to do with the morons telling Greg he's wrong about a plane he flew for a decade.
Not everyone thinks like that. To some, that jet is just an inconvenience, hindering them from 'just being' where they want to go... :( Though I'm sure it IS more comfortable back there... ;)
@@joesteven8601 same story here with my kids. This will probably remain one of life's great misteries. In any case, I know that I am bored of stuff that others find exiting, so it goes both ways :)
I've watched a bunch of landings at Aspen. I flew into Aspen years ago when United had service from Denver on the high wing, four engine jets. It is an experience coming into Aspen. I have ridden motorcycles on Wally Dallenbach's Colorado 500 Charity Motorcycle rides for many years. One of the riders I rode with was Lance Umjun and his wife Debora. Lance flew F-16's and he was the SLOT position with the Thunderbirds. He is a very good guy. One year he brought another Thunderbird pilot and a retired Air Force pilot who was the first ACE in Viet Nam. He flew F4 Phantoms.

@@gregmink No, Thank You Greg. This is the closest most of us will get to riding the right seat. You do what you do because you have a life and a passion. Fact checkers and complainers do it because they have nothing better to do. Reminds me of what I used to say to a few of my employees: If you can find time to bitch on and about the job, you most probably don't have enough work... Thank you again and Seasosn Best!
The approach to Aspen is wild and the airport was hard to spot. Nice job by a pro pilot 👍👍
I just went thru a bad case of COVID and your videos gave me some great relief. Appreciate ya sharing.
Lol, “if you’re not flying a big jet they park you in the cheap seats.” Greg, if they’re parking you in the cheap seats, where would they park me with my Malibu??? 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve gotten grass parking in my 182RG at a few football games. You know you’re somebody if you get to stay on the tarmac.
Or my Cherokee
Or me with the DA40 hahahahaha😂
They won’t. Turn around and depart 33
Denver.
they were actually looking at a carrier-based version of the F-16 at one time!
That's why it's taking so long to build the new Air Force One.
F-16 fighter's do have a tail hook, used for engine testing and emergency landings.
Fact! As a former ARFF guy, I pulled an F-16 out of the arresting gear at NAS Oceana after a reported emergency landing for a hydraulic failure.
@@gregrussell6081 I worked in airfield management at Cannon AFB when they had 5 squadrons of F-16s there. Watched several take the arresting cable for various reasons. Always had them up at each rwy end. had rubber donuts to hold them off the ground so the hook would catch. You could just drive right over them though.
I chuckle every time I hear GPWS giving a terrain warning because I use it as the ringtone on my phone. I love the looks from people when I get a call. I am not a pilot however desperately wish I was. It is one goal in my life I can't have. So I love watching these videos and 30GM is probably my favorite! I'm from Milwaukee and I live in Dallas so he is usually in an airport I know. I used to work right next to Addison in Dallas and I would spend my lunch hours watching planes come and go.
At least this one of your audiences to day was Larry Robinson, a 1500+ hour Idaho backcountry pilot, that watches these sorts of videos as an experience in something I'll never get to fly. Largest iron I every flew was a C206. Great flight.
Merry Christmas to the whole crew. Wish all my radio contacts used great, clear and timely phraseology like you when I was a controller.
I just fell out of my chair laughing, when you referenced the "real" need for wearing the headset...Your passengers were already annoying me 5 seconds into your taxi to departure...LOL HA HAHA.... Happy New Year !!!
30:40 I got task saturated watching the video so I put down my coffee.
I was on the edge of my seat
Your Premier seems to be just what you need.....I made that approach a few times when I lived and flew Corporate A/C for an Insurance Company in Denver from the old Arapahoe County (Centennial) Airport....even before the FAA installed a "micro-wave ILS" back in the early 70's it was always interesting !!!!
In the early to mid 90's I lived in Madison just west of the airport. I used to LOVE watching the A-10's and F-16's fly patterns around the airport.
Gotta love the know it all’s :-)
"Getting parked in the cheap seats"..... (Song from the 1960's playing in my head...)
".... So welcome back Gregory,
To the poor side of town"
One of the best things ever was when the "fact checkers" attempted to "educate" Greg about the F16. That was amusing.
Yeah does make me laugh when AVGeeks like to tell the guy who flew them for a decade he was wrong lol
@Rob Basque Snopes is pretty reliable as they cite sources, but that really doesn't have anything to do with the morons telling Greg he's wrong about a plane he flew for a decade.
I never flew jets but have been a pilot for a long time. I never knew F16's had a tail hook. Were they actually deployed on Navy ships?
@@azcharlie2009 Emergency use for USAF
Yeah. Greg knows everything
Awesome! MSN is my home base and where I did my PPL and Instrument rating. The Jet Room is phenomenal!
Good job captain. thanks for taking us along 👍
Merry Christmas!
Hello 👋 Tim from Maryland merry Christmas
HAHA! "The headset is so I don't have to hear the folks in the back!" That was good! :)
like fk, the women just couldn't shut the fuck up! LOL
(I prefer his solo flights, peace and quiet) :)
Exactly!
Thanks a lot for having us on board!
The highlight for me was the cruise over the high clouds
Wow! Flying a 172 out of KETB when I was training, flew into Madison for more than a few "$100" burgers! Thanks for the memory!
Wife I understand... but daughter/son should be fighting over the right seat.
Not everyone thinks like that. To some, that jet is just an inconvenience, hindering them from 'just being' where they want to go... :(
Though I'm sure it IS more comfortable back there... ;)
I think the cockpit is his quiet place!!
My son and daughter are the same way. No interest at all. Sad since I love flying so much and they have my Cessna 340A to use anytime.
@@joesteven8601 same story here with my kids. I really don't know what gets people interested in aviation and what makes them bored of it, but I suspect too easy access to it can take away the glory and the feeling of being priviledged, I don't know. This will probably remain one of life's great misteries. In any case, I know that I am bored of stuff that others find exiting, so it goes both ways :)
@@joesteven8601 hey Joe you taking applications for adopted children? I've got almost 50 years experience at being a kid so I'm very qualified.
"Dad has cash...famous last words!!!" LMFAO 😂😂😂 Merry Christmas! 🎄🎄🎄
"dad has cash" why do i believe this lol
[Callsign] “cable indicates up, runway 31 cleared for the option”
Those 38 people who voted “thumbs down” on this video still think the F-16 doesn’t have a tail hook.
haha you're probably not wrong
or simply that guy is annoying.
that is really funny and probably true.

"Son, daughter, wife, girlfriend." Must be a very understanding wife you have!
Girlfriend of one of them!! Not only men have girlfriend

It's always a pleasure to watch Premier 1 flying.
That calm, crisp, confident competence is inspiring. Love seeing smart people doing something well. Never flown a plane before but very much inspired to learn, in no small part because if this channel. Thanks for taking the time to share!
