How many folks said "wow" when he broke out of those clouds and hit the sunset? Nice greaser to Greg.
judging by the number of likes on your comment, quite a few!
I know I did!!! 😁 beautiful flight and landing of course.
Thank you!
Yes that was the best part! One reason I got my instrument ticket ;)
Even knowing it was going to happen, still got a WOW! One of the joys of flight.
The climb breaking through the clouds...Greg...that was a thing of beauty to catch on camera! Thank you for sharing these flights sir.
What he said. Took my breath away.
Would have been a thing of beauty filming from a chaser aircraft.
I was going to comment the same thing
Truly breath taking
Yes absolutely positively beautiful
Very few gets the privilege of this view. Thanks for sharing.
it's a good day when we have a new video from p1D
How true
You know that you have arrived, when the control tower calls you by your first name. ;-)
and when your Range is running on the ramp!
That sunset as you came out of the clouds.... spectacular
Love the night flights great video Greg 👋
Grey, I just want to say how much I've learned from simply watching your videos. You do a great job including us non pilots and explaining the technical things
I appreciate that!
Being a retired freight dog, night flying my favorite.
Just have my PPL, but I love flying at night. It’s usually calmer, smoother and less traffic in the air.
Thanks for watching!
I like flying at this time I hv been flight ✈️
@@gregmink I'm in northwest Indiana, where can I train to get a pilots license?
A night flight is always nice - not a lot to see outside except the SPECTACULAR sunset. Thanks
That landing was smooth as Betty White making a birthday cake.
The fear of flying blind in pitch black is not even an issue with you, you are so good. And to watch it and hear it is a pleasure beyond words. so scary yet so absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. I can never take you for granted, you always impress.
Mornin Greg, I will keep my Late June calendar open in case you have time. And thanks again for your FLOGs (Flight Logs) we all enjoy. I didn’t get my full message typed when I accidentally hit send last time . I was going to add that Kristen “Beo” Wolfe, the F35 Viper show pilot flies one part of her routine right over my house at about 500 AGL. Heading south out of the base she does a 270 degree right roll immediately into a HARD left which brings her over my way by the mountain . She then makes a hard right to circle back for alignment over the runway and does a super zoom to about 6000 AGL. All of it while in full military power with glorious dancing diamonds . And unlike the 16 which is quiet, the 35 is heart stopping loud and literally shakes everything around and every house. Noisy but sounds like freedom and fun too.
Tim H.
That shot breaking out on top with the sunset could be an aviation poster.
Something about night flights that are fascinating. All that sky, but plenty of technology and a great pilot to get you there with no worries.
"AAAACEE". hahahahah, love it
No doubt. Slick and greasy
Because a lot of you asked what this means. "RESUME NORMAL SPEED" - Used by ATC to advise a pilot to resume an aircraft's normal speed . It is issued to terminate a speed adjustment where no published speed restrictions apply. This does not relieve the pilot of any applicable speed restrictions such as 250 KIAS below 10,000" or 200 KIAS below Class B airspace.
I pay attention to the details. It's the little things that are the most important to listen to.
Thanks for the answer I like to learn win I can
I also pay VERY close attention to the words that come from your mouth Greg. I'm flying the Longitude on FS2020, attempting to adhere to the strict standards that you and Max fly by. I occasionally work very close to Atlantic Aviation at KSLC. I think if I looked over and seen N390GM sitting there, I'd S**T myself.... :-)
05:33 - Views like that are why I fly. That beautiful sight NEVER gets old.
Thanks for watching!
The shot when you broke through the clouds was... WOW!!!!!!!! Such colors!
always love that conversation with ATC when people call out your name.
5:43 Ohhhh man that breakout F'ing gorgeous!
WILL ALWAYS BE MY #1 RUclips CHANNEL !
i've never heard of someone disliking strobes in the clouds! It's like a mini rave :)
I’ve never caught a video this early. What a way to start a Saturday. Thanks Greg!!
Edit: ......Butter.
Excellent short vid. The sunset after popping out over the clouds was a thing of beauty. I also liked seeing the houses on the ground under your final all lit up for Christmas.
Used to love night flying! Great memories. All hand flying. No autopilot.
When that sunset pops as you clear the layers... Wow.
I just got hooked on flight sims, and now I can't get enough of videos like this!
... and the Range Rover is waiting, thumbs UP!
Enjoyed looking at the panel in night mode and listening to your banter as always..you were right the night skies there were very dark.
Thanks Greg! Enjoy your videos. If your ever in Seattle, let me know. Cheers
Wow, landing at night is a light show! Thanks!!
You're not supposed to catch everything in the dark, and that is the beauty of nights.
Video turned out fairly well but night recording is always a challenge. Thanks greg for a little variety and a night flight.
From start to finish, PERFECT!! Please keep the night flights coming.
Thanks for watching!
9:20 - _"Rocket man"!_
thanks, when ones sees the earth from 5000 to thirty during the day and the night is is almost a spiritual moment in one life. it is a sight one will never forget.
Parked at KGGY for a few days in my longest travel in a Cherokee. It always feels special to me when an aviation channel I follow flies off the same airport.
Great airport. I was born in Hammond and grew up in Highland. Now live in Arizona.
Greased that landing...night flying is a different animal, love the look of the runway at night on approach, looking forward to the the next vid, stay safe my friend!
Thanks for watching!
Love the night flying also, thanks for putting this one together Greg.
Glad for a night flight. It was a good change of pace. Also, thank you for working with my daughter on my Christmas cap. She really appreciated your help. She always knows what to get Dad.
Wow, sunset was pretty. Always a bonus when you get to see the sun set twice in one afternoon.
Another great video Greg. Love the fact that so many ATC staff know you! Thank you for sharing.
11:35 "from NIPPLES"? 😂😂🤣 Oh yeah I definitely like flying IFR!
I was just wondering about a night flight video before you this was posted. Awesome!
Boy, she got right off the ground on that departure takeoff!
I liked the night flight. Those wing strobe lights were very bright in the clouds/IMC
Love the night flights with the lights on ground so relaxing
Me too!
I don't land that well in my dreams! The canopy is a nice touch and the marshaller was nice and sharp. That airport was called Terry back when I was taking lessons! Another excellent video Greg. The last few minutes of the sun setting in Mid-December was a very nice touch.
Love flying at night. It’s like the plane is on rails.
Thanks for watching!
Colors popped.... I bought a 360 ONE R for Christmas , now all I need is the jet 😉😎
Yes WOW was the first words out of my mouth as he ascended out of the clouds many thank you for your work and sharing drive safe!
That sunset was stunning. I really like the night videos, Greg. In addition to the breathtaking views, the avionics displays are clearer (sometimes), making it easier to follow along.
Your 360 camera does excellent. The sky colors at sunset really stood out. It's like being there. Thanks for the videos sir.
5:47 how amazing.
Excellent video! Seeing the sunset above the cloud layer was a great moment imo.
In the late seventies, Collins came out with an all LED readout on their avionics (installed in a new Warrior II I was flying at the time). Loved night flights and city lights--twinkled like diamonds on black velvet.
Always a great time flying with you & I Thank You 🙏 For Allowing Us As Virtually Passengers To Fly With You 🙏👏😀
Wow, Dec 13th... I wish it was still Dec 13th. I'd be getting ready to go on vacation soon and have that wonderful Christmas/New Year's vibe all over again.
Cloud breakout was beautiful!
Change of pace is always nice. Nice flight. Sudden sunset skimming the clouds was beautiful.
What's a good recipe for a Saturday morning? A new P1D video, and coffee.
Hope you enjoy!
@@gregmink Always.
I feel like it’s always difficult to film at night but you did great Greg! In real life it’s not always day time, keep em comin! 👍
Thanks! Will do!
Greg hearing you say what the date was; December 13th, tells me, it takes a lot for you to produce and edit a video to post it on January 30, 2021. Man thanks for sharing your journey's and all the hard work you do to getting it to us!!
It does take some time.
What a gorgeous sunset when you broke through ceiling....sweet!
Yes it was!
It was great flying at night for a change. Especially enjoyed punching up to the clouds and looking at the sun setting. Thanks for taking the time to share the flight. I look forward to the next one.---Todd.
Thanks for watching!
A night flight, finally! :-)
The camera picked up the night amazing, Keep it up
Awesome, thank you!
Life is good... chilly morning here in Lone Tree, CO. Have the fireplace going, hot cup of coffee and a new P1D video to start the day. A night flight to boot. Came out looking great Greg! Clear skies to you sir!
That crimson end of that sunset... makes this all worth it.
those sunset pics, you could turn into wallpapers.
Thanks for watching!
Loved the light show on the horizon. That was great.
By the time you reach the top of the climb it's time to descend again. :)
I know right .. like flying Fort Lauderdale into Cancun to visit my sister .. up then down .. like those
Hey Gregg, that 360 really does a great job of low light situations.
And yeah, I went "wow, beautiful" when you broke through!
Watching the 100s of feet clicking off the altimeter on the ascent was impressive.
This video can out great, Greg!! Thanks for showing us a night flight.
👍 That was different : the climb out, breaking through the clouds was fantastic & the landing good as well !!! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi Greg,
I recently found your site this week.
I'm subscribed and enthralled!
I don't often comment for relevant advice on sites, but after seeing your's, I was compelled.
Myself and my Group at Jeppesen/Boeing were responsible for the majority of the initial flight testing for the Premier Jet. This was during the mid-late 2000's. We were doing several 'tiny jets' around that time, the Premier being one of them. We were doing high altitude/high density altitude testing in Ecuador, cross wind configurations in Svalbard, engine out and drift down over the blue spruce routes / Labrador/Greenland/Iceland/Scotland, and everything in between!
I retired from Boeing/Jeppesen in 2014. Segue to this week when I came across your site. Fascinating. It is simply beautiful to see what this fine Aircraft has become. I remember the initial contract negotiations with Beechcraft, the numbers of test flights in the potential contract, flying out there to work with their team..........everything in between.
Now, I'm able to tune into your Channel and see a professional presentation of what this Sierra Hotel jet has actually become!
I'm your age. I have been fascinated the last several days, diving into your videos around the Jet. Weird, now that I'm out of Aviation and in law enforcement, that I kind of feel 'proud papa' like when I see your productions.
Lot for me to write, but wanted to do so Sir.
Mike Ferguson
Santa Cruz Ca.
Thanks Mike! Would love to see any old photos or things you have of the testing processes in the Premier.
Wow! When you pop through the cloud layer, that is an amazing view!
That was pretty cool, really enjoy watching your channel.
Cool night flight!!!
So GORGEOUS all around with that sunset...perfect landing as usual. "Above the clouds that lift you up to God" thank you for sharing this beautiful flight Sir.
Glad you enjoyed it
"Ace..." Greg, you're just too cool. LOVE these videos!!!
"Ace" indeed.
Great trip! And that landing was perfect! I miss flying so much, so tired of this covid mess. I need to get a jet & pilot !
looked great-night time is usually a stare at gauges moment lol. Thanks as always for sharing the ride with us so we could be part of your adventures-be Safe!
That was really cool getting that shout out from Indy center, your friend TD sounds like a really nice guy and does a solid job with atc!
"7 clicks on the mic" - Aviation-themed band name
Doesn't beat Grateful Dead.
I thought Pattern Hogs would make a fun band name too :)
This is one of my favorite videos of yours, the night flying is a great experience!
Glad to hear it!
ATC: "Hello, Gregg..."
Beautiful sunset! I could watch you panel all day (night) long! Thank you Greg!
Thanks for watching!
I liked the video before even watching it. You always know it’s going to be good! ✈️
Hope you enjoyed it!
5:32 That was beautiful! Reminded me of MFS 2020. Definitely consider doing more Night Flights!
Breaking thru the ceiling on decent, the interior panel lights and the city lights matched perfectly. Great gear great editing as always. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
I like how take your time when you can. You read back your takeoff clearance so calmly and clearly.
Thanks for watching!
I always dreamed of flying jets , LOL !! At 62 I kinda missed my chance , Thank You for your service Greg flying that F-16 , and I look forward to every video of yours , You the Man !!!!
Thanks for watching!
Turned out beautifully, Greg! I love flying at night. Here's to more of those night flying videos!
Thanks, will do!
7:15 was that Bill Clinton coming on the freq? lol
😂
Yah it sure sounded like Bill. I'm thinking guess he's moonlighting as ATC nowadays 🤣
LOL, I believe it was.
I enjoyed watching the night flight. It was certainly worth watching! Thanks for this perspective!
Yes, a new notification of a new vid. from Premier 1 Driver...Thank you for taking us along Greg...Night Flight...
Thanks for watching!
Would you recommend owning this after the years of experience you have had with the plane? Fuel burn, unscheduled maintenance, parts availability, uptime reliability?
Yes! The plane is incredible.
Very cool coming thru the clouds.....
That climb out through the cloud deck was quite something. The thing that art is made of. Thanks for taking us along.
Loved that!
Something so "operational" about night flying.
Many thanks for sharing!
