She lives on her own, widowed for 11 years now. She's in good health for her age, but has been getting weaker for several months now. We feel she's ready to be reunited with her husband and family. Hello, just wanted to say that I had an issue with lip swelling and burning and flaking a few years ago, and it turned out to be an iron deficiency. I also started taking B12 and D3 along with the iron and it cleared right up. So hopefully she has had some lab work done recently but if not, that may be a good idea!
Very interesting story. I want to address Jan’s lip condition. My sister had a similar issue on her lips about a year ago. She went to a doctor and a dermatologist. They didn’t have a diagnosis but the ultimately gave her cortisone. It finally healed up but it took months. They think it was a result of the Covid vaccine, my family will not be getting anymore vaccines! I just said a prayer for Jan❤️✝️🙏
My grandson read your cousins book in his spring semester of honors history. I was his daily ride home and he would go on and on about it during our forty minute ride. What an interesting story about your mother's 1st cousin! That's definitely something to brag about. I'm sorry that Jan is having this issue with her mouth/lips. I had a similar problem quite a long time ago and I used Nivea cream and real aloe vera. I would cut the aloe leaf big enough to cover my mouth when shut, then slice the leaf long ways and put it on my lips and leave it on like that for as long as I could. Because obviously I couldn't leave it on if I was going somewhere lol. But now, as old as I am, I have eczema. It started on the bridge of my nose but the last few years it's spread up to my eyebrows (a little) and down both sides of my nose and most recently it's spread down to my mouth and on my "jowls" I know that sounds crazy but I don't know how else to describe it. My Dr sent me to a Dermatologist a couple years ago and I didn't really get a diagnosis. She prescribed a couple ointments but they didn't really work. Then my Dr prescribed me Prednisone. That worked pretty well but I also got some aloe vera from my daughter and laid that on the area. Is she sure it's not an allergic reaction to something causing it? Wonderful story. My father was in WWlI. Such a different time. My how things have changed. I spend a lot of time working on my family history. The most wonderful thing I discovered was a half sister! She's been a treasure at this time in my life. This happens more than people know. All these years she was completely wrong about her family history on what she thought was her father's side. It's made me wonder going way back in time how often folks had it wrong. DNA has been a game changer over relying on assumptions.

Great man! Glad he was recognized for his contribution to the war effort. The Japanese wanted to defeat the US on Midway so they could use the island as a base for a second attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. I do love your stories. I hope Jan gets her lip problem sorted out very soon.

When I lived in San Diego, I saw the Midway many times. Always impressive to see it up close and "feeling" awed by it. Now we know that it was called "purple" by the Japanese. WOW!!! Since I usually watch you on my TV I rarely get to comment because I just don't know how on that. You can be assured though that as of this one I have seen every one of your adventures and stories and have enjoyed all of them. We live in Maryland very close to the Chesapeake Bay and about three hours by car to the Atlantic Ocean. I've heard of the miles long yard sale you speak of and have always wanted to see it. Also, tell Jan to get in front of that camera with you more often as I doubt that I'm the only one who would enjoy watching the two of you together.

My grandfather was in the Navy in the Pacific Theater and I’ve always been interested in WW11. They are not known as the greatest generation for nothing. So much respect for them and your family.

Great man! Glad he was recognized for his contribution to the war effort. The Japanese wanted to defeat the US on Midway so they could use the island as a base for a second attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. I do love your stories. I hope Jan gets her lip problem sorted out very soon.

Prayers for your dear daughter Jan. What a miserable situation. So very sorry for her discomfort. I bet she will appreciate the potato soup. Always better when Mamma cooks. (My daughter is 53 and lives in PA. She visits me once a year, and we always cook favorite dishes when she is here). LOVE the story of your mom's 1st. cousin. When I lived in San Diego, I saw the Midway many times. Always impressive to see it up close and "feeling" awed by it. Now we know that it was called "purple" by the Japanese. WOW!!!

Miss Pat, you and I share a lot of memories. You're older than I am but I still find that we have a lot in common.
Since I usually watch you on my TV I rarely get to comment because I just don't know how on that.
You can be assured though that as of this one I have seen every one of your adventures and stories and have enjoyed all of them.
We live in Maryland very close to the Chesapeake Bay and about three hours by car to the Atlantic Ocean.
I've heard of the miles long yard sale you speak of and have always wanted to see it. Also, tell Jan to get in front of that camera with you more often as I doubt that I'm the only one who would enjoy watching the two of you together.
