High IQ play by the lineman for the recovery
He should picked it up. The Washington players around him just thought he was being stupid. He could have gotten it away from the endzone, or just walked it down field while Washington padded themselves on the back.
He was following the runner the entire return, saw that the player dropped it and booked it to the ball. 200 iq 😂😂😂😂
not #1 on Washington he was trying to get it too@@chesterpanda
@@chesterpanda He woulda gone deep but there's no way he takes it to the house lol. Man would get to like the thirty just cause his size and he had to run like 50 yards before even picking the ball up. But really high iq and stuck with the play shows commitment.
@@chesterpanda-- He's an offensive lineman who ran all the way back. He's not going to be able to run it back the other way.
Dude just cemented himself as a meme.
Yep
And cemented the ugliest mustache nose ring combo ever haha
It’s crazy how players never learn..
It's crazy how adrenaline causes a lack of judgment during a big game and millions of fans screaming. Until you played the game (at a high level), you don't know what it's like on the football field.
@@MarcLloydZhe’s just indisciplined, that barely happens it’s not common it’s just a low in play
@@MarcLloydZnah just get into the end zone bro. Celebrate after
DeShawn Jackson vibes😂
@@MarcLloydZtrue, someone who would drop the ball before crossing into the end zone probably would mistake 70 thousand for millions lol
How did his teammates not see that 😂🤦♂️ good awareness by that utah playet
one of them DID see it, just so happened he was also the furthest from it. Dude was so quick to taunt he fk'd up smh.
Exactly, one of them was right behind him. It's all about showboating. Idiots.
Playet
#1 the only one with some IQ on that offense
@@Reaper1Reaps The two trailing him didn't, and then waaaay far back there's like that 3rd guy. lol
Man threw the ball at the five. Lol
I said the same thing 😂😂
Not even close....at the 2.
@@avidadolares
At the 1 yard line
@@avidadolares I hate people like you
No the three@@loganblack4885
Bless the hearts of Utah 52 and Washington 1, the only two players to immediately understand what was going on, and hustle toward the loose ball.
He really dropped the ball on that play. 🥁
Bruh the crowd celebration had me dying, imagine if this happened at the Super Bowl 😂😂😂
It happened at the Fiesta Bowl in 2001. Chad Johnson.
Oh this ever happen in Super Bowl it’s gonna be war going on towards the player
Not exactly the same, but the Leon Lett play in the Super Bowl was pretty bad too. Celebrating too early is always bad.
@@JCEMT23… Yeah I remember that, ball got knocked out right before he crossed the goal line… Luckily Dallas was up big in that game…
Well it did somewhat. Buffalo Bills vs Dallas Cowboys: DL leon lett in SB XXVII had the 🏈 knock out cause he was showboating before he cross the endzone by WR Don Beebe
Happens every year but that wasn’t even close 😂
Ik, everyone saw DeSean Jackson drop the ball right before he crossed, but no one drops it at the two. He wasn't even close to the goal line, surprised his teammates didn't see it.
😂😂😂😂 Desean Jackson would be proud
😭😭😭
I was trying to figure out where we saw this before 😂😂😂😂
you are a real sports fan to remember that.
Djacc did it cooler
@@TheRomano725 A bone headed move done more cool. Gots to love the internet😭😭😭
Players....you can't go wrong if you hold the ball until you can hand it to a ref. Something our Coaches taught us back in the day (high school).
If we scored and didn't hand it to the ref we had suicide runs the next practice.
No one, I mean no one failed to give the ball to the ref post-score!!
Exactly
Yes, Sir, our coaches said the same thing. Give it to the refs.
Now you only see the military schools do it.
FAKE STORY. SIMP.
One thing I always loved about Barry Sanders
How many times is this going to happen? Blows my mind every time. 🤯 How someone does this, I have no idea. This guys isn’t even close.
Some of the greatest commentary of all time
Lot better than Joe Buck honestly
Imagine a scene like this determined who wins the Super Bowl. Wow.....
@@K_D_Ayes Seahawks blowing a 10 point lead with 7 mins to go in the 4th was the worse defensive meltdown after the falcons 28 to 3 meltdown
@dagreatness Far from a “defensive meltdown.” The defense was way banged up going into that game. Add to the fact that Jeremy Lane broke his arm and leg on the same play, amongst other in game injuries, with the biggest being Cliff Avril leaving the game in the second half. Once Cliff left, Tom Brady was able to get things going. Seahawks couldnt get the sane pressure on him. Up until that point, the Seahawks Defense had Tom Brady and the patriots completely under control. Sorry bud, just stating the facts. Defensive meltdown. Lmao
@@brianrichards4026 oh boy the excuses everyone on both teams were banged up
@@brianrichards4026 you're not stating facts you telling your pressure depends on Avril after we heard all year how good it was as whole get this through your it's no excuses on the field one man shouldn't stop your whole d facts is patriots was the best adjustment in the league facts patriots facts patriots dominate second half and facts Seahawks gave up 14 points in 7 mins as well as not scoring when they had the ball that's why they lost that's facts but I'm sure you think it's cause lynch didn't get it on the 1 yes defensive meltdown that's what it was that's what it is and that's the facts. Talking about Avril no bill went in that locker room and he got his team together facts. Legion of boom d 😆 got exposed
The end had me rolling 😂😂
pun intended?
Utah did the same thing playing Oregon in 2014. Totally changed the momentum of the fame when it happened. Only difference is, the Oregon players ran it back for a TD! 12 point swing because the utah player wasnt paying attention SMH
Kaelin Clay. The side judge saw it the whole way and made no signal. It was the turning point of the game too.
13 point swing if they made the extra point 🤓
That was the year Oregon went all the way to the first CFP title game (lost to OSU).
I’ll never understand how players do this. It blows my mind. Either way go huskies baby lfg!!!
Egos
My guess would be an adrenaline thing, like you see the endzone no one in front of you, the crowd going crazy and you just kinda forget everything has gotta cross the plane first.
It's an illusion with the goalposts. It seems so close you think you are already 5 yards in before.
@@42tribesjust wait until the ground changes color underneath the feet, or hand the ball to the ref😂
It is their culture. Taunt and gloat before the job is done.
The startling thing to me is the number of players on the field and fans in the stands that didn't realize the blunder as it was happening.
I was yelling at the TV the whole time. That was obvious
0:29 Haha fan on the right of the screen knew. She's weakly clapping while turning to her friends..."so y'all didn't catch that"? ...thinking it's my team though so I'll celebrate some...
He's NFL ready
@Flare8124 above seems to think so - unsarcastically.
How do players still do this? Have there not been enough already? It's an easy thing not to do
Heads play by the Utah player! What a bone headed play by Washington!
Except pick it up and get it off that goal line, even just 5 yards then go down
how did ALL THOSE PLAYERS see the ball just sitting on the 1 yard line and not think "It's not in the end zone"?????
The biggest meme of the year in college football
Hope this guy enjoys his new career delivering pizzas starting tomorrow. Hope he can remember not to drop the pizza on the sidewalk behind him as he approaches the door.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm sure he'll make more money than you in a few years than your lifetime lol
@@Flare8124 Salty fans try not to launch a personal attack on the commenter (impossible)
Dunno man, he made a mistake, he surely got a talking to, but it would be pretty difficult to make him feel worse than he does, and what would even be the point in that?
I have always hated the dropping the ball at the goal line celebration do that at the back of the end zone !!
Bonehead play. Fortunately for him, his teammates got a safety on the next play, making up for the 2 point conversion they missed earlier.
Great heads up by #52
Guaranteed he's laughed at players who've done that in the past
He did not do the Desean Jackson? But, he did. 😭😭😭
Imagine being remembered like this for the rest of your career
Reminds me of the Leon Lett play, celebrates too early!!!
You know, i was talking about that play right after this one happened. This one is worse since Leon has the ball stripped from his hand.
Was at the game and we all celebrated like crazy and had no idea 💀
What’s a CFB game like
Uw games are so hype
Woooooow. Fricken 4 yards away. I'm guessing the word pre-mature comes up often with him (celebrations, bedroom situations)
Impressive is how multiple players ran past it AND FOX add the TD graphic without the official indicating a TD. All around impressiveness with this one.
He knew what he was doing....spread was -8 !!!!! 😒
Only mostly in college football. It's why I watch it sometimes lol. NFL, they really weed out these types of mistakes. So come backs due to error are very rare.
Coach’s gonna love this clip
He “DeSean Jacksoned” the touchdown 😂😂
With so many examples of these early celebrations happening out there I just cannot understand how ANYBODY does this these days.
What’s even crazier than the idiot dropping the ball is that somehow none of his teammates who were looking right at him didn’t realize he dropped it before he scored and scooped it up themselves.
Props to #52 for paying attention and falling on it. How did all those other players not notice??
Washington #1 also noticed but was too far back, so had to try to casually walk up, hoping all the Utah players wouldn't notice also.
Actually, upon further review, both Utah #52 and Washington #1 immediately sprinted toward to ball. They will be praised in practice.
Wasnt even close 😭
How u drop it that early 😂😂😂
How do you grow up, see that desean jackson clip, and still not just hold onto the ball? (Unless you haven’t seen the desean jackson clip)
It should be mandatory to watch that first day if practice your freshman year.
I only heard about Desean Javkson doing this after this game happened. Before this game I only remember Plexico doing so.ething like this several times.
Coaches need to show this video to players every week !!!
Absolutely! Inexcusable you're fighting claw to get that ball and then once you do you can't get rid of it soon enough. This is mind-boggling
Cmon man moment right there
Nobody is that dumb, especially when you do those repetitions everyday. He purposefully messed up spreads
Exactly. Break the plane is all you have to do is what they are taught every day. He didn't even attempt to get the ball over before his own body. 🤔
Don't underestimate the stupidity of some people. Look at the expression on the guy's face. There's not much between his ears.
I just watched a full compilation video of players doing exactly this lol😂
Great awareness
I like that there's no commentary, just had to let this moment rock as is lmao
What a game!
Ed Reed did this with I think his first INT as a Raven and it was a fumble too. Zay Flowers did it with his first TD as a Raven and it was almost a fumble. It must be a college thing because DeShain Jackson did it too as an Eagle in his rookie season.
The pros have done this as well 😂. A former footballer said the field goal can cause an a illusion making you think you are 5 yards already in the endzone.
This guy will be a big success in life. Obviously very smart.
That's when the song "Drop it Like it's Hot" really has meaning here.
For those who don't know the point of the drop is to time it perfectly to cross the line for a TD and then drop it backwards on the 1/2 ft line without it re-crossing the goal line. That makes you a god at the next practice. (in my book it makes you something else, but I'm old school.) So he did it on purpose and his teammates won't pickup the ball because in practice they do this all the time. And since the coaches don't stop it in practice the players go ahead do it in the game. It's time for some benching for anyone who does it in practice and especially the game.
Is this…satire? I can see egos allowing this little game-within-a-game thing to arise, but I'm failing to see how it could catch on. It's sheer flashiness meets selfish stupidity, and dude met stupidity and probably got deservedly chewed out.
My mind is seeing Monica and ross diving on the ball after Rachel dropped it and still fighting over it, while the rest is already warm inside eating Thanksgiving dinner😂🏈🎬📺
Well at least they got a safety on the very next play.
As a former running back. The number 1 objective was to get the football over the goalline. Must be a linbacker or defense issue, lol.
Glad my huskies won but kid running lines on monday. For sure!
I never want to see another player do this. When I grew up, there was a saying "Act like you have been there before." I'll never 100% understand the mentality of a player who is more concerned with celebration and showboating than he is simply making sure the ball crosses into the endzone with him.
Coaches are going to have actually start making practice drills for players to learn how to cross the goal line while carrying the ball.
Look at the point spread that was Vegas at its finest. Mafia game of the week
Funny thing is Utah did the same thing against Oregon a few years back 😂
I am glad to have been at the game 😂
Enjoy your rise to the top of the ESPN set-top plays of the week.
This is why i hate show boating and taunting in highschool and college ball.
This is one of the only examples of this where it's truly mind-blowing. None of his body was close to crossing the goal line. He must have been on cloud 9 😂
dude who recovered the fumble got high football IQ always play til you hear a whistle!
we see this clip every year
OMG - I hope the coach lays into him. Inexcusable in such an important game. Is it just me, or does it seem like these trend comes back every few years?
Great heads up for Oregon # 23
And of course Jackson and Hampton do not notice him dropping the ball short of the goal line has anyone ever seen a team try to give the game away the way washington does I would love to see one game where the defense and offense both have their best games
Definition of “ACT LIKE YOU’VE BEEN THERE BEFORE SON”.
"This is the day you will always remember as the day you ALMOST caught a Pick 6!"
"When looking sweet goes wrong"
Woof that’s crazy good thing they won the game
The look on the players face when he noticed something was amiss. 😳
And that kids is why you make sure the ball CROSSES THE GOAL LINE FIRST.
Awesome
This gonna be added to those "worst moments" compilations lol
This is like the football version of winning the Darwin Award.
Put yourself last on the depth chart. Gotta earn it back twice after something embarrassing like that
The joy, excitement, and smiles on the faces of, I would assume, the family members of Alphonso Tuputala in the stands make this vid extra special😅.
This play was even worse than DeShawn Jackson’s play because at least with DeShaun’s play you really did need slow-motion to tell if he flipped the ball too soon. With this one by Tuputala, the dude was practically still on the 5 yard line when he “did the deed”. Ain’t no slow motion needed to notice THIS blunder😅.
He's going to get a code red back in the locker room
This dude’s next practice session is gonna be ROUGH.
Actually it probably won’t… coaches have to caudal their players now because they’ll transfer in the portal
I was at the Sportsbook at Mandalay Bay with a bet on Washington by 11 or more. This GENIOUS literally cost me $550 in potential winnings.
This happened to me but i fumbled the ball at the goalline. 10 years later. I still hear about it lol. We ended up losing state.
I wonder what the point spread was for that game?
Wow!!!
Pride cometh before the downfall
Last player that did this probably saying, yeah im off the hook.
Is one thing to pull a desean Jackson on the goal line this dude dropped that ball on like the three yard line
bruh was so excited he forgot why he was even running 🤣
Reminds me of when this happened to Desean Jackson 😩
I saw Desean Jackson do this in person at the Army All American Bowl in Hs and in the NFL
Every coach across the nation should show one of theses to his team and tell them if they do it, theyll never play another down.
I play college football the awareness of where you at on the football is very important this kid forgot all about that I know he got chewed out i played for SIU I know he had words coming his way
Utah learned from that same previous against against Oregon before 💀
Well you have to be remembered in college football for something
How does Fox put the score up so quick when it was so obvious a fumble?
Starting at 0:21, Utah #52 and Washington #1 were already running towards the ball, but unfortunately they switched cameras before they reached it.
