Jimmy Barnes "Soul Deep" was an album that I loved as a child, although never truly appreciated the quality of vocals until later in life. Could listen start to finish and never get bored of it.
Yeah, I lose my voice when I try to scream😂😂😂. Sometimes when my kids were young and I'd ',lose it' and scream, I'd start coughing!!! Which would cause the kids to giggle at me! 😂😂😂😂❤️🇦🇺🙏🌏🌕❤️

"Do you understand how high this song is sung?" Yes. I can't sing to save my life, but I'm a natural baritone. Guys who can hit those high notes have my utmost respect and admiration. Just midblowing stuff. Barnesy, Plant, Terry Reid, Cornell, these guys are my heroes. Man I wish I could sing.

I found you at 8am this morning, its mow 1.30pm and Im still watching. Im loving your reaction the the music and bands I grew up with. Ive seen all these bands live many many times, from chisel to farnham to acdc, skyhooks, kate cebrano, russell Morris, paul kelly.. our aussie legends. Thanks for giving me such a great day off strolling down the sound track to my lufe.
I could listen to him 7/24 /365 and never get tired of listening to him . He's absolutely the best Male vocalist in the world to me and I've listened to him back years ago before I ever heard of a reaction channel . But after I found TSRs reaction channel I was hooked and it was my first time watching a reaction channel and I finally figured out I wasn't as crazy as some people thought I was because I literally lose it when I listen to music like this.
I just love the way love your music, as you are just about the only one who's real and dosn't pretend to know everything. I have written to you a couple of times and requested Jimmy Barnes And Joe Bonamassa singing Deep Purple doing Lazy. It is mind blowing, you have played one of the songs but not the other so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do this one for all us Jimmy Barnes fans. Oh keep up the good work as you should be an honorary Australian by now , with all the air time you give to the Aussie bands thank you.
I'm surprised he still has a voice, back in the day he would drink straight vodka on stage the man can sing pissed as, I've been lucky enough to meet him a few times
There is a song that Jimmy does called "The last frontier". His vocals are amazing in that. The music is fantastic too. It takes you on a journey. This song is so good and Tina would be proud I'd reckon. Thanks. Your reactions are GOLD! ✌
I gotta say man, I watched your Matt Corby videos and loved them and then saw all the other old school Australian songs they got you in on and cringed…. But man, you have made me appreciate Jimmy like I haven’t before
I heard an interview with JB on a Qantas inflight channel. Apparently, Jimmy Barnes lost his voice during a period of illness, He spent some time in hospital and while in the hospital they worked out that even though he had no speaking voice he could still sing at full volume. They used a scope to see what was going on with his vocal cords and worked out that he was not using his vocal cords to sing instead he was using mainly his throat. After this he learnt to sing more with his vocal cords.
First time here - So great to hear your comments about Jimmy - and especially as you can hold a tune as at the beginning so you know your sh*t. I was so lucky to hear Jimmy in 1994 on a rare UK tour and I was utterly floored hearing him do River Deep with a monster PA system. Your comments ring so true to me and what a rock and soul icon is Jimmy. Hope you'd like to review The BelRays - On Top. Lisa is such a powerful singer too. Best wishes :-)
Absolutely, great suggestion! The soul deep album & tour was phenomenal, blessed to have seen it live with diesel supporting - my most favourite concert ever!
Here I am up at 3:04 am watching TSR react to Jimmy Barnes and I haven't watched the video yet but I already know I'm going to lose it either way 😂 I actually put these reactions on my playlist ! I'd rather watch TSR react to these songs than watch the regular video . I honestly think he's the greatest male vocalist out there but that's just my opinion .
Hey hey it's Saturday, was a comedy variety show. Was staple viewing before heading out in the 80's, was an outrageous show unlike any other, well worth a look
day mate, Just subbed in. So good to find someone that understands that Jimmy doesnt just scream. I dont bother trying to set Australians straight about his so called ''screaming''. To me, he is a true soul singer, He leans into when it is needed, but it is very controlled. As you say you can hear the proof in the vibrato. There is a version from the last stand concert with Rennee Geyer and Vennetta Fields {both great singers} . Absolutely brilliant.
The first part of that video was Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham and Diesel doing When something is wrong with my baby live on Hey Hey It's Saturday probably the best performance of that song.
Jimmy sings with the second row of vocal chords, he's mentioned it in interviews many times. They start up like a cold started old Mack Truck. Lots of screaming and more screaming but once theyre warmed up its butter baby. He can't do what he used to anymore as well as he did, but even now, he's head and shoulders above most others. IT'S NOT SCREAMING!
Jimmy's Soul Deep album followed up with Soul Deeper and a few more besides seem to take his Cold Chisel style and blend it with a touch of soul and you find he is made of pure gold.
Stevie Wonder is a wonder. His music and vocals are Timeless. Superstition has to be up there with the greatest songs ever written. Jimmy Barnes is leaving legacy that will be very appreciated in years to come !
“Screaming Jimmy Barnes” was his nickname way back when. He’s not actually screaming but just a phrase used to describe his vocal power. Cold Chisel is one Australia’s greatest rock bands IMHO
It's not just Jimmy's voice in this video, it's the back up singers and the band, they are playing the living shit out of this song, it is rocking so hard. Listen to that base guitarist and drummer, damn those men are motoring along like a big block on in a old Chevy, power house to back up the power house that is Jimmy.
You MUST react to Jimmy Barnes and Sam Moore singing Soothe Me. It's a remake of the Sam and Dave version from way back. I promise you won't be disappointed!
Love your reactions brother! Love that you are kicking deep in to Aussie tunes. If you get the chance to listen to an album you really should check out jimmy Barnes live at the chapel. It’s a ball tearer
Have u done "Working Class Man" yet? There's always that debate whether Jimmy screams or sings.... My dad has always said he screams but loves his concerts anyway. Mum has always loved Jimmy, for his voice & on his looks. Me, i was brought up on Chisel & Jimmy so to me he isn't screaming. Seeing him live is something us Aussie's were lucky to witness on more than one occasion. Going to a Jimmy concert is just like going over to the neighbours for a barbie on Sat nights, something that is extremely natural & normal
Seeing Cold Chisel live was one of my favourite concerts ever. Hearing ‘Flame Trees’, ‘Saturday Night’ and ‘Khe Sahn’ live was unforgettable. And you’re right. Its like the world’s best sing along at the street party/BBQ.
@@calliestephen The night i saw Chisel i was with a group of my great male mates me being the only girl & all i did was cry. Looks like this was the follow up to another song you did awhile back, When something is wrong with my baby. This was the second song in the set. With Farnham and Diesel there.
There are interviews where Jimmy talks about his vocals... he has been told by medical professionals that his vocal chords are almost pristine, because he actually engages his false vocal chords when he sings rather than his true ones.

He’s answered it, he was born with split vocal cords. You can’t tear what’s already separated
We love Jimmy!!
Jimmy hasn't blown his voice out yet so he has been singing since 40+ yrs
