Well for one only a very small number of guitarists, even out of those that play comically low, incomprehensible tunings, don't need 8 strings, because they don't need to keep the top end range. They would be better off with just a baritone. And people who tune so low that they need modified guitar designs are a vast minority already.

you should try using some Q-Tuner pickups at some point. pretty niche brand but they are some beefy sounding and sick looking pickups. Sidewound, neodymium, transparent, rail-core pickups

Well the vast majority of guitarists don't downtune, and those that do don't usually don't need extra strings because they don't need to keep the same highest notes from E standard. Also I live in a dorm room and literally cannot fit any more instruments in here.
