Javier Reyes has a signature 8 string with Ortega or you can get a fan fret 8 string classical from Rondo for 1/10th the price. See: Brahms Guitar I love my 7 string acoustics and I plan to pick up an 8 string at some point, sooner than later.
Yes, Andrew, do a rebuild of the old Ibanez 8 string. It would be cool to see. And what could you replace the bridge with... that would be interesting...
That Fast Guitar is impeccable. I adore that single cut style and finding those in an 8 is like finding a needle in a haystack. And those Bare Knuckles sound ginormous.
The Javier Reyes 8 string Strat from ESP is super cool, love the combo of modern specs with a classic look and having an h-s-s configuration on an 8 string is pretty uncommon
I would love to have a play with that. Pretty expensive though, and a Floyd on an 8 string will be interesting to deal with! I have a kinda similar 7 string currently, an Ibanez AZ24047. One of the only HSS 7 strings I've ever seen, the other being a £5000 ESP. The Ibanez also has a trem, a Gotoh which doesn't have a locking nut so I can change tunings easier. The single coils sound really cool for the lower notes. Not sure if I'm gonna keep it though, it just doesn't have the tight feel & resonance I like from my Schecter, and it also has quite a bit of fret buzz. Possible that a decent setup will help though.
Never did i think a Majesty 8 string would exist… and its truly beautiful. Fun fact: at 9:48 he is playing the breakdown for his song “Wouldst thou like to live deliciously”
I recently bought a second hand Ran custom shop 8 string guitar and it's amazing. 30 inch scale length and 2 Lundgren humbuckers. Amazing guitar should you find one, I think it would make a great addition
Did not know you were Canadian. From Ontario myself 🤟 Canadian Metal heads/8 string (soon to be until mine arrives in a couple of weeks lol) guitarists unite💪
Love your videos and collection man. You're a major success story for someone like myself, who has like 500 subs. Out here representing for us extended-range players for sure... I have had quite the collection of 8s myself but have sold a couple unfortunately. I just felt like I didn't have room for them all, and I'm mostly playing 9-strings now anyway. A few brands you should acquire, a nice Legator, a Kiesel, and maybe even a nice Agile.
I second the agile! I have 3, 2 6 string single cuts and a 7 string geodesic (headless multi scale) they are hands down the best sub 1k extended range guitars.
I am with you on Legator man, I got a ghost 7 multiscale...you hear mixed responses about it, but I think it plays great, looks sick and very good hardware. 👽🤘
I watch this video because I was looking to buy the 8 string😊 I would love to see you on tour, I see you are going to play in Seattle! I will try to get that Saturday off 🤘 Thanks for making great videos!
Yes definitely do a rebuild on the RGA8! I sold mine ages ago but miss it cos for a cheap entry level 8 string it played so well! Also you have my favourite guitar collection on the planet 😂❤️!
Dude! Would love a rebuild of the OG black ibanez. I learned from Tank The Tech a tip that actually works really well for glossy guitar necks. It's a product called "finger ease" it's like a string lube that is a spray that helps remove friction on the back of the neck, or on strings of a guitar. It might be worth a shot if you like a gloss neck guitar in your collection, but hate the sticky feel.
Great video, I love that you actually played each guitar as well as giving us all a little bit of history. Also after seeing how many guitars you have even when limited to the 8 strings, I think I may not feel so guilty buying my next axe, which I've been considering over the last few days. It's a Schecter KM-7 Artist I'm looking at. Half of my brain is saying go for it, I know it will suit my play style perfectly, plus feel (and most likely sound) better than any of my other guitars. And the other half is saying you've never spent that much on a guitar before, take pause before spending most of your savings. So I guess we'll see which little voice shouts the loudest! From your 8 string collection, I would prefer either the Schecter or Ormsby the most. Schecter for playing comfort (has the ultra-thin neck) and Ormsby for the sound. Interesting that you don't seem so keen on the pickups, but I really like that spikier sound that is more single-coil sounding. Plus they both have the coil splits which I like to have. The green Ibanez sounded fantastic too.
your the reason i went and gut a hype gtr8 but i ended up with the walnut burl top. i literally didnt kno it had coil split wile watching this video im like wait a min does mine and it totally does so thanks for that lol and def was awsome meeting you and johny at lovecrafts back in febuary with the guys from within destruction
I honestly believe the FTM33 to be most elegant looking Guitar while being absolutely brutal. If I ever were to lay hands on one I'd be living the dream xD
Im getting the new produktion ftm stoneman next month and i can’t wait It’s my first 8 string and the most expensive music gear I’m gonna own as well, so it’s gonna be a nice lvl up
Definitely check out the ESP LTD Stephen Carpenter SC608 Baritone Red Sparkle!!! Huge fan of Deftones and has Fishman pickups and has a crazy tone. Powerful for power chords
You and I could not be farther apart on bridge preference lol. I like a TOM, preferably with a stopbar. I like the ftm33 bridge. I think they use it for the fine tuning system. Some of Fredrik's guitars have custom TOM/fine tuning stopbars...i believe these are to keep the cost down. I've had a few floyd licensed guitars, and once you can keep them in tune, they're not bad...at least the ftm bridge does that. I'd love to get an m80m, but i think 5 (3 6's, 1 7, 1 8) guitars is plenty for me.
They all sound great tbh i couldn't hear a big diff through youtube tho inlove that new one you got l. I have blackouts in my SG and there dopeee you got some gorgeous 8 strings
Awesome collection bro, and good content as always! Question, with the RDGMS8 have you noticed using the voicing switch on it makes noise and kind of hums with high gain?
Only the ones with Blackouts and Lundgrens sound great on your rig, everything else is a noisy porridge. And I vote for rebuilding of RGA8. The bridge needs to be swapped with some extraordinary solution, like custom tune-o-matic, or maybe your favorite evertune. The pickups needed to be installed either Lundgrens in soapbar cases (they customly make them) or rare Lace Sensors "Stealth 8".
You forgot the text for the Ibanez rgd8 woods. Just kind of thought that was a funny moment Nice collection. Enjoyable video Gotta love some surprise heavy is the head
i grabbed a entry level rg8 a couple weeks ago to see if i gel with the 8. After a week i decided on a multiscale iron label 8 i got for $550 on reverb. would love to get a evertune for it. would have loved that axe lab ibanez but the price is a bit high for me currently. i understand the obsession now. for your fast guitar you can always drill those holes out for your bridge, pop in some end pieces and you got a string through.
I just got my first 8 string about a month or so ago. I love playing it, but trying to find a good tone can be quite daunting.. I dialed in one that I think is okay. But I want to ask what is your go to…because no matter what, you have the best tone in the down-tuned community.
Do you prefer the Ormsby or the Tao? I am afraid that the fanning is too extreme to be comfortable, but at the same time I don't think the 27" scale is enough for Drop E with 10-74 set. What do you think?
Lol, awesome collection! Never got used to my 8 =( Is one of the most beatiful guitars that I own (Goliath Shark by ormsby) and I regret I didnt order as a 7 instead, now they don't exist anymore hahahha.... That being said... how do you tune your guitars on the super low strings so they sound in tune in your songs? Sometimes I do faster notes, sometimes I hold the note, and if I tune to when I strike the string, it drops super quickly in tune when holding, and if I tune to the hold, its super sharp on the strike... If you had to get rid of 1 of these 8 strings. Which one would you pick?
Yes, Andrew, do a rebuild of the old Ibanez 8 string. It would be cool to see. And what could you replace the bridge with... that would be interesting...
agreed, i'd love to see a rebuild of it
That Fast Guitar is impeccable. I adore that single cut style and finding those in an 8 is like finding a needle in a haystack. And those Bare Knuckles sound ginormous.
Only other person comes to mind is Fred Brum, he has a big 8 string collection
I’ll have to check him out
4:53
You definitely have one of the coolest collections of 8 strings that's for sure! It would be super fun to see an Abasi 8 string on the channel imo
The Javier Reyes 8 string Strat from ESP is super cool, love the combo of modern specs with a classic look and having an h-s-s configuration on an 8 string is pretty uncommon
id love to see andrew do a review on one of those

Drinking game: take a shot everytime Andrew says "my band Carcosa"
Never did i think a Majesty 8 string would exist… and its truly beautiful. Fun fact: at 9:48 he is playing the breakdown for his song “Wouldst thou like to live deliciously”
The swirl aristides is awesome but my personal favorite is the fast guitar. The shape, the wood grain and those block inlays just look fantastic.
I recently bought a second hand Ran custom shop 8 string guitar and it's amazing. 30 inch scale length and 2 Lundgren humbuckers. Amazing guitar should you find one, I think it would make a great addition
I’ve tried a RAN a couple times they are definitely sick
@@BaenaCarcosaMine was built off a non multiscale Crusher in satin black. The used market is amazing for deals
@@tobymurray-anderson4773maybe if you're a righty lmao
I'm not an 8 string guy. But the yellow aristides sounded massive. The majesty surprised me honestly. Second favorite tonally is your green Ibanez.
Andrew, plz make a comparison of all guitars on the same sound preset.
This video has all the guitars using the same preset
I love how subtle the killswitch is tho, I didnt even notice until you pointed it out
From a person who had many instruments and varied tastes in genres, this video helps me choose my next guitar or build design.
We saw you play that yellow guitar live in Portland. Was rad!
I love the Majesty 8 String.
24:40 We are defenetly need to see a rebuild)) Don't upset this little guitar :)
Yeah, please video a guitar make over, always useful for other people to see & possibly learn something new!
Did not know you were Canadian. From Ontario myself 🤟 Canadian Metal heads/8 string (soon to be until mine arrives in a couple of weeks lol) guitarists unite💪
You should 100% rebuild your old ibanez 8 string. I love seeing projects people work on

Awesome collection! That green ibanez sounded the clearest and tightest!
I'll definitely be happy to see your first 8 string brought back to life!
Yes definitely do a rebuild on the RGA8! I sold mine ages ago but miss it cos for a cheap entry level 8 string it played so well! Also you have my favourite guitar collection on the planet 😂❤️!
Please bring Ibanez back to life. I love rebuild videos. Sick collection by the way 👏🏻🤘🏻👍🏻😎🎸🔥
The 080s is just insane 😍 i seen matt beaffy playing them on his stream and fell in love ❤️ wicked collection!
i've always loved that ormbsy guitar, id kill for the 7 string version
A rebuild of the first RG would be awesome!!
You should get the Solar 8 string V Canibalismo, that’s my dream guitar!
I’m not really a fan of Vs but those do look sick
Dude! Would love a rebuild of the OG black ibanez. I learned from Tank The Tech a tip that actually works really well for glossy guitar necks. LUV that Solar 8 string V with the Evetune!
I’d really like to see the rebuild of the Ibanez! Great collection!! Cheers

the esp ltd sc608b is my favorite 8 string highly recommend i have the older black one. Its the wormwood guitar and it rules.
your the reason i went and gut a hype gtr8 but i ended up with the walnut burl top. i literally didnt kno it had coil split wile watching this video im like wait a min does mine and it totally does so thanks for that lol and def was awsome meeting you and johny at lovecrafts back in febuary with the guys from within destruction
I use the word Brutiful all the time for heavy ass music with pretty melodic sections. Counterparts, Architects (LF//LT, AOGHAU), etc.
Did you get rid of the Rob Scallon 8? I remember you really liked his model. Either way, sweet video! You have a wicked collection
I honestly believe the FTM33 to be most elegant looking Guitar while being absolutely brutal. If I ever were to lay hands on one I'd be living the dream xD
Schecter makes a realllly nice 8 string! It’s my favorite in my collection!
Im getting the new produktion ftm stoneman next month and i can’t wait
It’s my first 8 string and the most expensive music gear I’m gonna own as well, so it’s gonna be a nice lvl up
I own 1 8 string, the schecter hellraiser 26.5 inch version, its a great guitar. I own 2 7 strings and acbunch of 6 strings. Sick collectiin bro
I like the Ornsby,it looks like it came back from the future.
A guitarist dream to have as many guitars as you!! Sick guitars also shout out to the Diablo shirt 🤘
We definitely need a rebuild of the OG RGA8
Love a good Loch Ness Green (LNG) guitar 🤌
I knew I fucked that up haha
personally i would love a rebuild video of that last ibanez!!
Do the RGA rebuild. I have an Omen 6 sitting in my closet, maybe it will motivate me to treat some of my old guitars right haha
Lundgren pickups is soooo good,...i think the first one the aristides is my fav,.. but also the Harley Benton, Love cheers to ya' dear Andrew
Definitely check out the ESP LTD Stephen Carpenter SC608 Baritone Red Sparkle!!! Huge fan of Deftones and has Fishman pickups and has a crazy tone. Powerful for power chords
rga8 is my only 8 string bought it new in 09 , i put SD Distortion/Invader PU's and a Blackout Pre Amp
Really enjoyed this man! Have you ever owned an M80M? You kind of need one man haha
Yes I want to get one to do a comparison vid of the two meshuggah models but they’ve been hard to find haha
Do gotta say that you’re missing out on a nice Kiesel 8 string man! Headless or not, those things are great
You and I could not be farther apart on bridge preference lol. I like a TOM, preferably with a stopbar. I like the ftm33 bridge. I think they use it for the fine tuning system. I'd love to get an m80m, but i think 5 (3 6's, 1 7, 1 8) guitars is plenty for me.
Tosin definitely has more than 10 8strings
Rebuild the guitar!!! Every guitar player i know has at least 1 Frankenstein guitar. Would love to see what crazy ideas you would do with it!
The Prestige Ibanez is one of my favorites tonally here. I do hear some ring from above the nut though! Tricky sound to stop.
Sneaking in Wave Of Babies that early in the video...
They all sound great tbh i couldn't hear a big diff through youtube tho inlove that new one you got l. I have blackouts in my SG and there dopeee you got some gorgeous 8 strings
“Riff or Riffnt” is a fantastic line
Did you get a new camera for recording? This video looks especially crisp and clear for some reason.
New lighting 😀
Awesome collection bro, and good content as always! Question, with the RDGMS8 have you noticed using the voicing switch on it makes noise and kind of hums with high gain?
15:00 I thought EBMM Majesty sounds great, but these blackouts are just insanely clear
You have my favorite guitar collection, by far. I just wish you would try an OD guitar sometime, they look so sick and are made to be djent machines.
Would love to see a rebuild!
Amazing collection! Btw there's no timeline chapter for the Schecter.
Only the ones with Blackouts and Lundgrens sound great on your rig, everything else is a noisy porridge.

Nice collection. Enjoyable video
Gotta love some surprise heavy is the head
I’d love to see you review the legator N8 FX
i grabbed a entry level rg8 a couple weeks ago to see if i gel with the 8. What do you think about an 8 string with Tremelo?
I don’t like any tremolo haha
I love 8 string guitars so much! Even if I prefer 7 strings...
You should check out schecter C-8 MS SLS Elite Evil Twin. One of my favourite 8 strings
The fast is my favorite I’m sad they’re not made anymore I want so bad
I just got my first 8 string about a month or so ago. I love playing it, but trying to find a good tone can be quite daunting.. I dialed in one that I think is okay. But I want to ask what is your go to…because no matter what, you have the best tone in the down-tuned community.
You need that Dean ML with 8 strings and Khaler tremolo
Rebuild of this ibanez would be cool 😎
Brutaful collection!
Sick collection!
Gotta get a tele body 8 in that collection.
you should check out the RG5328 from Ibanez
1:50 Brutiful, Brutal and Beautiful :3 it actually works
Rebuild that Ibanez! Maybe see about putting an evertune on it? They may be able to do something?
I'm edging to this rn
4:53
nice brutefull collection man!
i wonder sometimes what You would compose and come up with if You had to do it in e-standard? :D
I’ve done a couple e standard songs! Check out Bane on my Spotify
forgive my ignorance. Funny cause Your Music already spins in my Spotify lists! Keep it up man!@@BaenaCarcosa
All i learned from this video is my next guitar needs to be an aristides 😅
cool guitars i guess. i'd like to hear you play anything worth listening to. stopped at 5m28s btw
You should try a Fender P bass, might save some room on the rack
I think Tosin might actually have the biggest 8 string collection
It's *BRUTIFUL*

Do the rebuild! im interested
I'm saving money for just one 😵 I hope I can get one asap.
I think you need to hit up Hunter for a high intergrity upgrade of the rga
Lol, awesome collection! Never got used to my 8 =( Is one of the most beatiful guitars that I own (Goliath Shark by ormsby) and I regret I didnt order as a 7 instead, now they don't exist anymore hahahha....
That being said... how do you tune your guitars on the super low strings so they sound in tune in your songs? Sometimes I do faster notes, sometimes I hold the note, and if I tune to when I strike the string, it drops super quickly in tune when holding, and if I tune to the hold, its super sharp on the strike...
Do you have any suggestions?
Rebuild the guitar! that would be super cool if you did that because I'm wondering what you would do to it to?🤔
How come no M80M? Scale length too long?
Do you prefer fanned fret 8 strings or standard straight ones?
