I had this bike as my first bike (taken in by the harley name). I agree its good fun but the negatives outweighed the positives. Weird foot position like you said, rear brake in an odd place. The thing that really annoyed me though was the lack of fuel gauge - you'd just be riding along and the warning light would come on which in London traffic used to stress me out.
Simple to figure out the mileage. Then rest the trip meter every fill up. Also has a fuel light that goes off around 1 gallon. I’d say the biggest downfall is a 750 HD vtwin that’s anemic.

I had the same XG750 StreetRod but the 2015 model. And I learned to drive a motorcycle with it. I really enjoyed this bike, but also I agree with you there are some features that are a bit confusing. The most irritating thnigs that I really didn' appreciate it at all was : no clock and no fuel indicator. That's why I sold it before buying a Z650 2021. :)
So many people who switch to Harley or cruisers from sport bikes always say roughly the same thing, “I don’t know why I love or enjoy riding it to be honest, but I just do…” And you certainly don’t buy a Harley for its speed. Loved the video. :)

This is why I hope HD never releases the unicorn of bikes - the Bronx. Because their design and engineering teams will be too confused to not screw it up.
I've put 10k miles on my 2020 SR. I can definitely agree with this video for the most part. Owning this bike is unique because its a Harley that's trying to be a sport bike(kinda), I constantly get asked about it and necks breaking when I ride by but its not the best bike that's for sure lol. I may keep it when I get another bike because it could increase in value in the next few years since they discontinued them.
I used to get a headache from my cheap ebay muffler with no baffles on an Enfield 500, I think most baffles are designed to cut the brain pain frequency.
I think the bike suffers from the exhaust. The stock exhaust or screaming eagle stage 1 exhaust + tune will make it a little more faster. The foot position is an easy swap between foot control mounts ( XG750A and XG750). The stretch to the drag bars can get help from Rox risers. The fit and finish (metal mostly-not cheap ) is undervalued . Cheers

They are very good and they have stock bikes that will fit you but then the bike you like might not fit you and hence customisation option. I mean all motorcycles can be customised but Harley just make it very easy to customise . The parts are not cheap( that’s the case with all bikes). The thing with Harley is you have to do your research on what kind of ride you want to do and what level of comfort you want and then put your money in otherwise it will be very frustrating.

Well even these are gone, but if the streetster bikes interested you, then the vrod series and maybe the sporty... sportsters - like xr1200 - may have piqued your interest as well. Not as wallowy, lard filled feeling or boring as the big v twin cruisers, but still kinda sporty/fun while giving the good parts of the harley experience. The buells would have been interesting for you too, but idk if they ever made it over there. New sportsters may be fun, compromised lean angle, at cost extra for mid controls and high starting price kinda makes that a rough sell though
The handle bars are called drag bars. When this bike was first released, I gave it some consideration, until I saw how much it weighed. Leave it to Harley to manufacture a bike that's much heavier than the bike it competes with, in its class.
It sounds like decel popping, I'd be willing to bet that the previous owner just put the pipe on and didn't tune it. If you could get it tuned , it might not do that anymore.
Don't know about the Street Rods but the Twin Cam engines were designed to produce the decel popping so it could just be a Harley thing. Some riders like it and some don't.
I've same helmet you own, LS2 Stream Evo. There are some dirt marks that won't go away no matter how much I clean it. Can you make a video or reply in this comment how you clean your outer shell of the helmet ?
I refuse to ever buy a motorcycle I cannot comfortably stand on the pegs ever again. I don't race around town. Long distance travel is best done on an ADV, though many dual-sports are comfortable for long distance as well, where their only downside is freeway travel, most of the time.
The biggest reason to buy a Harley is the name. Either you gotta have a Harley or you don't. It doesn't have to shine, and so it never will. It'll be good enough versus it's competitors in the same market without beating them, but still sell because it says Harley.
I don't know about the quality of this bike in America but in india it was build very poorly. Some times the break didn't work it was very dangerous to ride. it was also over priced and interceptor was very aggressively priced i think it was 3200 USD that's this bike failed in india.
Good analysis. Some things are objective and even obvious, they do stand out, foe example, the difference between front and rear suspensión. And the amount of money needed to get that in return.... makes no sense to me.
Harley made a more sporty bike that made actual power called the xr1200, and it also died the same fate of no one bought it because it didn't look like a harley.

It is more like a sportier cafe racer than a cruiser. As this does not fit into the American market, it is catered more to Asian emerging markets who uses this as an entryway to the harley Culture.
I own a Hyatt bussa and I stock it with everything I think that your comments about this bike they are unfair I don't know how fast you wanna go but I have Right this bike at a 170 km per hour quite easily and gets there really fast A lot of your comments I perceive it's just to say something about one part but doesn't make any sense
This was HD’s poor attempt at a starter bike. The only life these have is as safety course bike like their own rider course with the 500cc version. They’re so heavy, slow, and underpowered that Honda wants their recipe. It didn’t appeal to new riders, it’s a joke to dyed in the wool Harley owners, and it showed the company didn’t really try. Hopefully the current administration learns from the Street Rod mistakes and makes a true naked bike with the Bronx concept.
as unsuccessful as these bikes were, harley has to keep trying to find a new niche of riders.the old school guys are dying off fast.without new customers who dont want the old school machines, harley is in deep crap as a company.

My dad had a virago 1100, got rid of it, bought a ZR-7S, 2 years after that, he gave the ZR-7 to my mom who is currently in croatia on it and bought a liter ninja, he takes it on week long trips, rides it from 9AM to 7-9PM depending on how much time he wants left for sightseeing and not once has he said he was uncomfortable on it, he has, however, said that he never wants to go back to cruisers. And if for some reason, someone is uncomfortable on a sport bike, they can always buy a sport tourer

I like being comfortable as well, that's why I ride sport bikes, they are just the more comfortable option to me personally. Same goes for just enjoying the scenery, I often just throw it a gear or two higher and look around, you don't always have to go fast just because it's a sport bike. I've seen a video of a guy on a harley scraping everything he could without washing out, even though it's a bike built for going slow in a straight line, so you can take it down a notch to appreciate the stuff around you on a bike that isn't.

Loads of bikes have no fuel gauge, if a bike has one it's a feature to be appreciated but they aren't a given.

In 2015 there was no street rod 750. The model he reviewed is XG750A ( street rod 750).

The foot pegs have been changed to forward controls, they are much better when stock and in the middle of the bike

I have an unused pass backrest/luggage ledge for that bike. Bike got wrecked as the part was in transit from eBay.
The gearing is insanely fun, 2nd goes to 60 3rd goes to 80 but top speed 106 in 6th lol

No, the INT650 is a better bike in pretty much every way. I’ve ridden the HD and own the RE. The latter is a terrific bike and costs $6000 brand new.
