Great advice! There are so many options now as an artist (which is great) but it can at times feel overwhelming. Your approach has made it feel a little more simple and exciting! 😁 Thank you
I am overwhelmed with all the options, limitations, speed, lack of knowledge on what I need technically speaking and not really knowing what each feature that I desire requires from a hosting platform. It is like walking in outer space, you see a lot of stars from a distance without any clarity. There is an over abundance of individuals marketing and affiliates out there and it is hard to find those who truly give genuine transparent feedback about the pros and cons for each platform for the artist. As an artist, flexibility is key. I am looking for the best place to sit my website with lots of design options, great disk space/bandwidth/security/uptime/website speed.for the following features: gallery/portfolio, Ecommerce, blog, POD options, and the best search optimization while on a budget.
I like the spacewalk analogy! Yes there are so many options today for individual entrepreneurs and creatives. If you want flexibility, I would recommend using WP back office. You have thousands of plug-ins and themes to choose from. You can work with ANY POD on the planet earth (and outer space). But it’s not easy to work with. Flexibility and ease unfortunately don’t go hand in hand.
Thank you for all your video. I've seen just now printful and it seems interesting. Can you make a video about printful and similar site wich can be useful for artist? And also One on how to make grow a personal blog? P.s. You have a really good voice😎😎😎
This video is a great help, I am about to launch my art website and I would be very interested to hear your feedback and thoughts. Thank you so much for your honesty, I fully trust your research and experience that goes into your videos and sharing with us all. Very inspiring and to the point, with no fluff involved. Keep them coming x
You can make a Google business site. It’s better than not having a site in some ways. But you won’t have the unique domain name that corresponds to your artist name, and you can’t use SEO strategies to attract traffic.
Thank you for all those videos. I've been watching a bunch of them. Very helpful. Maybe you could also give tips on how to reach buyers on social media, such as Instagram. I'd like to use Instagram to promote my art. I'm not a painter, I'm a fine art photographer. I've used Instagram in the past but without professional intentions. I could get a decent number of followers, however most of them were photographers as well. This time I want a new account to promote my art, I'd love to reach buyers but I'm afraid I will attract photographers again haha.
safe Safelight-room This is a common problem - galleries want to attract buyers but they end up attracting lots of artists instead. But it’s not a bad thing. If you can get a decent number like 50K plus, you can eventually to recommended to collectors on Instagram.
safe Safelight-room Alternatively you can target certain keywords (SEO) on your website, making content and attracting people to your site. It’s slightly more controllable than social media.
@@VeryPrivateGallery I'm *right now* looking for books on this topic. Hahaha. I already have very basic knowledge of SEO, but I think it's time to dig deeper. Thanks a million. Initially I thought it would be easier to find buyers on social media, but now I'm starting to think differently, maybe I should focus more on a website and blog, using social media just as a plus not the main focus.

@@VeryPrivateGallery I’m on Wordpress and the prices seem way more expensive than a lot of other web builders, in your video you mentioned that yearly subscriptions is not a good idea for artists in the long run and Wordpress is a one time fee but I’m on their webpage and it’s showing someone different.
Hi! The best is to use WordPress and build your own based on a template of your choice. We use Elegant Themes because it offers a lot of themes. Many artists we know use Elementor that is more popular.
Where can I get a canvas sizes image for free or what tool/app can I use to create one so my customers can see a reference to canvas sizes compared in a room? Thanks in advance. I don’t want to “steal” and image from Google.
If you use printful or printify on your own website surely thsts not passive. I read 50% of clothing sold online got returned. So you would have a lot of customer service hassle wouldn't you?
i want to know which website is best for me..I can want to sell customized handmade things and other handmade things too.. and i want to sell art works too..
It depends on your IT skills and budget as well. If money isn't an issue, you can use SquareSpace (good blog, easy to use) or Shopify (good e-commerce, not too difficult to use). If you want to show up on Google results, WordPress is the best (need more computer skills but cheaper).
👋 So far the only “serious” free website builder is Wix. But it doesn’t give you domain name for free. WP has a free blog platform but it’s not the same thing as the WP website management system. 🤔 I will look for others. Free is a big constraint.
@@VeryPrivateGallery Thank you. I was going to include both but on separate pages. My C.V. has gotten very long. Maybe you could make a vid about editing your artist C.V. down.
@@blacksmithsligo Well, depending on what you want people to do with the information (eg. giving you a job or buying art from you), typically you put the CV as PDF and the bio as texts on the webpage.

Can I make an art website on Google business instead of using websites like squarespace for my business account?

But you recommended woo or Wordpress in your previous video, now I’m confused again
We use Wordpress (not the blog system, the web builder). Woocommerce is a plug in that works with Wordpress.

Is wix or squarespace safe for collecting payments?
Yes, I think they are among the safest platforms.

Yes, very true. It’s not as passive as it might seem. One quality that is within the passive income basket, is the “0 upfront investment” aspects.

Overall the best budget choice is WordPress + e-commerce platform combo. Like Gumroad, BigCartel (cheaper options) or Shopify (more expensive).

Talk about the detailed merits and demerits of free websites

Very Private Gallery meaning for better results, someone has to buy a domain name. On a free website!!
Hi me be state work but not sureses I have talent too much as multiple but not growing so in search please gide me
how much does a art website cost to display my paintings?
There are some sites you can use to display for free, but none of them would give you a domain name (like your name dot com).
Adobe portfolio is good but you can't sell over there.
How impotent do you think it is to include you C.V. on your website and, what are the benefits of it?
Usually you need an artist bio instead of a CV, but you can include both.
@@VeryPrivateGallery Thank you. I was going to include both but on separate pages. My C.V. has gotten very long. Maybe you could make a vid about editing your artist C.V. down.
