Great stuff Ben. I've just started doing this in one of the really shallow bays on my club lake after something I watched in one of your previous vids. The fish love it there, but it gets jammed with weed through the summer, and the silt is horrendous. I've just started feeding it with pellet a few times a week, and the water is now permanently silted up. We've an outlet drain at the entrance to the bay, and loads of silt is thankfully leaving the lake, thanks to the fish. You used the phrase, "Get the fish to do the work for you", and thats definitely what's happening! Natrupel is like crack to the fish. They absolutely love it! Thanks for all of the great advice! I've applied loads of it to our lake, and it's massively improving things. Our stock is definitely a sign of things going well, they're all growing and look super healthy.

What you are describing is almost identical to what we do in our ponds at home. However, such feeding training is not at all popular amongst British and European hobbyists and seasonal husbandry is neglected, which is terrible. So we feel closer to you than to them.

@@BPMilling I think a lot of bad practices have their roots in the fact that they have been spread by those who have no real experience in rearing. It seems to me that they should much to learn from carp farmers like yourself, such as how to deal with the seasons!

Would the same work for silty areas: agitation helping to aerate the silt and accelerate breakdown..?
