OMG you two are a riot. I had to pause the video to stop laughing before I could continue!!!! Sharon (self taught vocalist) and Anneke (Grand Dame of symphonic vocals) together, it doesn't get better than that!! Two more Dutch singing goddesses and members of that elite Dutch Singing Goddess Club ( Floor, Simone, Sharon, Anneke, Charlotte and Dianne) all lead vocalists of symphonic metal bands. Sharon does lots of duets and really experiments with various genres in her music, hey been around as long as NW so she has an extensive song collection as well. Anneke has been doing this angelic work for more than 25 years herself. Great reaction and real blend of great vocals.
The lady who came on stage second, is the reason we have Floor today. Floor went o see her band live when she was a teenager and from that moment she knew what she wanted to do ;)
The other lady singing is Anneke van Giersbergen, previously of The Gathering. Now she does a lot of side projects with a wide range of other bands. You've now heard four of the five Dutch goddesses of symphonic metal - Floor, Simone Simons from Epica, Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation, and Anneke. The only one you haven't heard yet is Charlotte Wessels from Delain. Incidentally, Marco from Nightwish has done several live songs with Delain.
@@TerranigmaQuintet Oops. Thanks. Forgot Dianne van Giersbergen (no relation to Anneke) headed up the German band Xandria and now and still with Ex Libris. I really liked Xandria, but it seems that's another metal band that's ignored by reacters (along with my second favorite band, Edenbridge, Nightwish being by far first). I'll try to be more careful with my details, wouldn't want to give young'uns like Pops and Grammy bad info.
@@akpilon I love me some Edenbridge, shame they don't really leave Europe for performances, but I've been a fan of them for 20 years. from Arcana onwards. Lanvall and Michael Romeo from Symphony X are 2 of my biggest inspirations guitar wise.
Some people have called this "the greatest duet ever recorded." Personally, I would tend to agree! The Netherlands must have something in the water..... LOL
I'm so happy you reacted to this one :) Hope to see more reactions to Within Temptation, you cannot go wrong with them, especially with Black Symphony dvd. Hope to see another one ;)
The girl in black is Anneke van Giersbergen. She used to sing in a band called The Gathering. If you want something nice to react to that features her, you could do Ih Ah!, a duet with Devin Townsend. The video is called "Devin Townsend Retinal Circus 02".
You folks need to do Devin Townsend - Grace live at The Retinal Circus. The 2nd singer in this video, Anneke Van Giersbergen, is in that one too. she and Devin together are great and they've done a lot together.
Within Temptation is a very nice band to react to, they have very interesting songs especially from their early records. You should try Jillian from this same concert or Candles.
I loved seeing your 'old school' paper list of songs. It took me out of the digital world for a well-deserved deviation from today's digital norm. As for your reaction, I hope you noted how Sharon so effortlessly comes in over the top of Annika around the 3:54 mark of the actual vid.
I'm going to suggest Within Temptation: Sinead as it's vaguely Celtic, and a very accessible bit of Within Temptation. Ghost Love Score by Within Temptation (though Amaranth, as you noted, is also a good choice) but with which singer, maybe a reaction with each?!
Sharon Den Adel (In the white dress) has never taken any singing lessons, but is self-taught. Anneke Van Giersbergen (Who arrives later on stage) is just amazing with almost flawless technique. Please check her with the Finnish band Amorphis in this music video: AMORPHIS - Amongst Stars (OFFICIAL VIDEO) ruclips.net/video/Jg2VqUTNjsw/видео.html with Tomi Joutsen from Amorphis. You might also react to this with Anneke, but it is a lot more progressive: THE GENTLE STORM - The Storm (OFFICIAL LIVE VIDEO) ruclips.net/video/_qpseRKIYuE/видео.html
If you're interested in the opposite side of the symphonic metal spectrum I can recommend the band Fleshgod Apocalpse and the song The Violation. It's basically symphonic death metal, might be interesting although I doubt you would like it very much! But interesting to see the whole spectrum perhaps!
A gateway song that gets her into heavier stuff huh? Guess that means she's ready for some Cannibal Corpse now. Kidding. Don't do Cannibal Corpse. Some Trees of Eternity might be nice though. Maybe Broken Mirror by them.

Yep! And she's still amazing. Alone (doing acoustic songs), with her new band VUUR, with Devin Townsend, with The Gentle Storm and many more :-)
I love Anneke SO much!
Amorphis -Amongst Stars, with Anneke...

Psst it's 6, you forgot Dianne 😏

Pops here. Yep I like delain and Xandria
Irene Jansen, Floor sister's not bad too...

Just beautiful.

Paradise (what about us) would be an excellent one to react to Within Temptation with guest Tarja.
Funny I watched this video earlier today. It's amazing. the second lady to come out was Anneke Van Giersbergen. Thanks again

torhus I love Devie
I second this suggestion.
Two out of the great Dutch four. Floor, Simone, Sharon and Anneke!

The second lady, here name is Anneke van Giersbergen, i think this is still one of the most beautiful duets.

If you like something similar to celtic maybe you will like another Within Temptation song called "Mother Earth" form the same concert.
Try some of these songs as well: Shot in the dark, Faster, Covered by roses, Angels, Supernova (acoustic version).
Within Temptation"The Howling" next
I'm going to suggest Within Temptation: Sinead as it's vaguely Celtic, and a very accessible bit of Within Temptation.

Handy Dandy Notebook? LOL!!! There must be a young one in your life. 🤪

Anneke van Giersbergen, another dutch angel 😎👍👌😍

"The other girl" is a legend. React to The Gathhering - Strange Machines live. There she is way before any Sharon, Floor or whatever came along.
Probably worth noting that Sharon could have made her own dress - she trained to do that years ago.
Is pops listening to some other tune or something?
A gateway song that gets her into heavier stuff huh? Guess that means she's ready for some Cannibal Corpse now.
Kidding. Don't do Cannibal Corpse. Some Trees of Eternity might be nice though. Maybe Broken Mirror by them.
I SAY DIMMU BOGIR -GATEWAYS-LIVE -FORCE OF THE NORTHERN NIGHTS
SumGuy pops here. Maybe some cradle of filth. lol
Here is something to react to, Devin townsend, kingdom official live version feat anneke van Giersbergen
angra - carolina iv
Hey Pop and Grammy. I hope you could react to 80's Jpop!
This one is called GIRL A (少女A) by Akina Nakamori : ruclips.net/video/sTn6eaiYN1w/видео.html
Please react to kensington : what lies ahead. You won't regret it.
Anneke :D
Pops was nodding so off tune, we know for sure this is not his kinda music 😄
Not celtic music , a beautiful ballad , they are Dutch
