She signs to Troy "congratulations, I Love you", before announce it... she tried to said it to Troy first even though she doesn't know ASL, so she made an effort and learned a bit just in case, because she wanted that Troy knew he was the winner before the hearing people and this is INCREDIBLY thoughtful, because he deserved it to know first and no after the rest cheered because someone else translated it or by context only
What a beautiful moment... The tears definitely came rolling down when he spoke about his dad and the interpreter's voice was shaking. Congratulations to Troy and CODA.
This was my favourite part of the whole show. They way she signed his name first and they way she looked at him.... It was exceptionally touching. One of the best moments of any AA show in history!
Make sure to tell him best wishes from the McAllister family! We’re praying hard for his long term success. Representing the disabled and deaf community is extremely honorable. Best of luck to him! ❤
I grew up in school with a special education center and deaf people made up about one third of the students in the room at any given time. This is so well deserved and I just want to say may God bless this community in the coming years!
I started learning ASL because of CODA. I'm struck by how distinctive and innovative Troy Kotsur's signing is. Like when he visually creates "Siân Heder bridge." Brilliant! 👍
I’ve recently finished watching CODA. Not only deserves the win, but he truly deserves the spotlight. This man had a very enticing performance in that movie.
I’m happy that this happened before the Will Smith bs, otherwise nobody would pay attention to his win, everybody would be so busy looking at their phones to gossip about the on-stage smack-down.
This makes me so happy! I live in Mesa, and it's exciting to drive on Main Street and see the signs congratulating him. I hope the city organizes an event for him, give him the keys of the city or something. He deserves it.
I love his Popeye face.... 😏 I haven't seen CODA yet, but I have great respect for him as an actor; he has a way of making people who don't know ASL understand what's happening just the same. He has a quality of making you want to understand, and then he gets you to that place.

@@lukess.s I made a mistake, you don't have to be rude, specially on a post about kindness
shes such a sweetheart for that!!
She is incredibly sweet.
I want to hug her. She is such a sweet lady. ❤️
Thanks Natalia for translate it to us! I wanted to know what she was saying, your text truly represents what I felt with Youn’ signs.
Still crying… I love how the voice of the interpreter started to shake when Troy talked about his father‘s accident…
The guy reading the sign language and translating was phenomenal.
Wow he even puts emotion on the tragic story of the father. Just amazing.
Just a quick note, in deaf culture it’s preferred to say interpreting rather than translating :)
Yoon Yeo-Jong fangirling Troy Kotsur is so sweet and wholesome!
The way she took the trophy to hold onto so he could sign properly - its the little things that show disability acceptance
What a beautiful moment... The tears definitely came rolling down when he spoke about his dad and the interpreter's voice was shaking. Congratulations to Troy and CODA.
I love how J.K. Simmons signed “Honor” after it’s announced
oh that means Honor? did not know that, I thought he was pointing at Tory Kotsur for winning the award.
Thanx for explain.
That's such a heartfelt moment. ❤️
Yeah, that was beautiful as well!
Respect/honor :)

The most wholesome moment of the Oscars 2022 and it’s not even close.
@@cmmndrblu And those nutty heifers either.
Eh, Lady Gaga showing a lot of respect to the legendary Liza Minnelli is very close
Troy is so full of life, personality and humor just like his character on the film. It was a beautiful performance and he definitely deserved this win
I adore how everyone in the theatre gave him the sign language action for ‘congratulations’!!😊❤️👍
It's just "applause"
@@SamxJxPx1993 aww well it’s lovely! 😊
JK Simmons signed 'respect' after hearing Mr Kotsur's name aswell!
@@SamxJxPx1993that’s freaking awesome!
The silent applause got me. Such a beautiful view
THAT’S MY DAD’S FRIEND!!!! THAT’S MY DAD’S FRIEND RIGHT THERE!!!!!!!!! I’M SO PROUD OF HIM

I’ve watched Coda today and realized how great he was in it and came here to listen to his speech. I’m really happy he got the Oscar!
This is the real honest moment of the 2022 Oscar's. Congratulations Troy Kotsur!!
This was the standout moment of that ceremony

Can we talk about how happy JK Simmons is for Troy and how he signed too?
Every time I watch this speech I cry! 💕💕💕

Great actor..amazing man..awesome performance… well deserved the OSCAR. INCREDIBLE.😊
I became emotional after watching him win ...😒 So wonderful
Absolutely sobbed during his speech - incredible actor and told such an amazing story
I am so happy for him. I liked him as an actor since Sue Thomas. So deserving!!

Thanks for this. This was a great moment.
One of the best moments in the entire ceremony.
Just saw the film a couple of days ago. I THOUGHT HE WAS SOOO GOOD IN THE ROLE! THE BEST AMONG THE ENTIRE CAST! DEFINITELY DESERVED!!
Well deserved Oscar 💯 Respect. #ASL
My congratulations to you Troy!
I don’t know if the interpreter is emotional himself when telling the story or he’s just matching Troy‘s expression
Congrats 👏Troy awesome 👌
this has to be the best speech ever
This leaves me... speechless HA!
I’m so pissed the slap was the big headline the morning after this.
너무 멋집니다~!
Well deserved award.
the background musis made this more emotional

when he talks about his dad the translator trembles his voice. wow.
You can HEAR someone saying "Oh My God".
Yo no tengo idea de nada pero me pareció que el interprete lo hizo genial
3:35 Will Smith warming his hands
Haha this comment is so underrated🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
Amé a este actor
Another great representation of the deaf community is Kelly Clarkson sing “I DARE YOU TO LOVE” in ASL with Zoom during the pandemic 😷
Kodi should have won. Be better be back im a few years, him and Timothee Chalamet
If anyone missed it. JK Simmons signed repsect.
One Day 🧿
Yes yes yes!!!
What an incredible cinderella story
I am curious what JK Simmons meant when he made an gesture of shooting the gun to the air when the winner was announced.. ^^
It was the sign for "Honor." He was congratulating him.
@@gottacatchemsome Aha thank you ^^
He is good
I wish the actress would step aside.
She was his hands… holding it for him.
Yeah that bitch made it Akward
😭💪💚
"I won't drop any F-bombs in my speech..." How portentous in hindsight.

Such a shame that this wonderful moment was stained by an animalistic behavior of a selfish man
