In my peace and conflict class we’re talking about these spirits called the “pachamamas” from the indigenous people of the Andes. They’re essentially earth goddesses that will come and watch over those who are sick and in need. One girl describes seeing her mother in the hospital surrounded by 5 pachamamas, each of different ethnicities. They watch over her mom and essentially become a mothering spirit for them. The 5 women dancing in the video reminded me a lot of that story, especially with the lyrics

How great to hear our culture being spread in other countries but we consider that Pachamama is not a spirit at all, she's the "Mother Earth", who gave us the life, the humanity and keep us safe in her arms unless we hurt her
Paula Santana interesting to know. We just read a story from a woman who described her experience as a child seeing these spirits surrounding her mother in the hospital. She says they tried to scold her as she approached her mother, as to protect her. In retrospect, she considered these spirits a manifestation of the pachamamas.
@@logan4231 I'm from Argentina and pachamama is a thing here (by that I mean it's a known concept, besides of what it means) and I always find it funny how people who describe Abrahamic religion's God as people's imaginary friend are the same ones who believe in spirits and native idols/gods and also things like resurrection, even to the point of stating they believe they were egyptian in a past life. It gets even funnier when you take into consideration that some of this people who feel a desire to reconnect to and embrace their aborigin roots are descendants from european immigrants. Some or them might have 1 or 2 aborigin ancestors, maybe those whose ancestors were around in the early waves of immigration, but the vast majority don't since the indigenous people were decimated in the Desert Campaigns. After the Campaings the goverment incentivized immigration from europe, mostly Italians and Spanish people came, and there were pretty big immigration waves after WWI and WWII so the likelyhood of this people having indigenous roots are rather low. This is not representative of most people though, mostly marxists and some strands of socialists have this weird line of thinking. Just some anecdotal experience of woke uni students.

I saw this 12 hrs ago & it moved me so much that I had to come back to share my thoughts:
Aurora danced with such brute force and passion that her body literally began to bleed. *Nevertheless, she persisted.* They all persisted, kept moving even though they were hurt. They sacrificed. They’re in a dry desert on a cloudy day and the only brightly-colored thing that we see is their sacrifice - red blood; even Aurora’s lemon-colored outfit pales in comparison to the brightness of that red. Those were all deliberate choices, just as it was a deliberate choice to later use the blood as war paint to enhance their makeup.
Aurora dancing on her own, covered in blood, is an unsettling sight. But with the support of others, she becomes one hell of a force to be reckoned with. That’s the kind of force that *we* can be when we choose to work together against the injustices of our world. When we choose to fight _together,_ we’ll still come up against challenges of all kinds, but when the fight draws blood and threatens to break us, there will be others there to offer the encouragement, support, and love that we all need.
This video is telling us that we _can_ have a positive influence, that we can save lives or even the planet, but in order to do so, *we have to work together.*

She was so amazed that I knew who she was. She was sweet and convinced her team to let me in the show by saying: "it's my show right? And I want you to come? And then I should be able to say that you can come, right?" I said yes. She did. They did. She was amazing.
