Indian history before Shivaji's advent reads like a chronicle of military disasters. Shivaji changed all that. He used Guerilla Tactics very effectively. Shivaji, as a great warrior & visionary laid a strong and solid foundation that after his death in 1680, there was a series of battles fought between Marathas and Mughals from 1681 to 1707 known as 'War of 27 years' and ended with the death of Aurangzeb in 1707. The Marathas eventually emerged victorious and consolidated their lost territories. This was further expanded by the Peshwas. The Maratha empire reached its peak in summer of 1758 with the conquest of Attock, which is banks of Indus river in Pakistan today. Its eastern frontier was today’s Orissa, being ruled by Raghuji Bhosale of Nagpur. Maratha armies had also reached upto Murshidabad, but then retreated and settled for tribute from Bengal and control of Orissa. To the south, in 1758, territories upto the fort of Gurramkonda in Kadappah district were held. Also, Tanjore (Thanjavur) was under Marathas, but that was a different line. In 1761, the PANIPAT war was lost to the Afghans but Marathas RECOVERED quickly like phoenix bird within 10 years and brought the whole of North Indian again under their control during the 1770's under leadership of Madhavrao Peshwa..
Eventually, the Marathas grew stronger and fought the British in three Anglo-Maratha Wars (1775-82, 1803-05, 1817-18), In the First Anglo-Maratha War (1775-1782) The Marathas emerged Victorious. A Vijay Stambh (Victory Pillar) erected to commemorate Maratha victory over British is located at Vadgaon/Wadgaon Maval, close to the city of Pune. The 2nd and 3rd were subsequently lost and British established themselves.

The laws were secular i.e. Hindus were not required to follow any Islamic law. Secondly, the Muslim rulers mostly considered themselves Indians. They all chose to be buried in India as they took and made India their final home. They married Indians too.They called themselves Indians. Whereas the British, who left India for good, never considered India their ultimate home.
So, the correct thing to say would be "India was ruled by Indians of foreign origin for 1000 years". Very much like the Aryans who came long after the Dravidians, but eventually got intermingled with the rest and lived happily ever after as Indians.

I am from india. Every day on the street I can see kindness , people helping each other , rich helping poor, the government doing so many schemes for the poor, ideas coming forwards how to improve society. Employers providing their maids and children education from their own pocket.

I live in modern India, I have travelled to different parts of India ,thanks to my travel loving parents and my mother tongue is Bengali,due to current residence I can also use Punjabi,Hindi and I was taught English too ,which got me access to English culture and using English translations all of 195+ cultures of earth.
This multicultural connection to India and English world and Humanity is a tiny evidence of my diverse experiences related to Humans and here are the following opinions that I have about the type of thinking in this video :
The man was deeply sad or disgusted about the influence of still leftover varna system and it literally makes him never go back which is fair but at same time feels like a huge abandonment , an abandonment based on only one aspect,kind of like a child who makes excuses of abandonment based on only one aspect from something much dynamic and large, like me when I was 14 or something and deeply hated the type of treatment of my parents towards me, I hated the daily conflicts with me too much and due to access to internet from where I saw many fun loving characters and since I has a narrow view of life I only watched the popular english cinema and eventually started thinking thier world is full of loving people( you see how stupid this thinking was ?,based on fictional characters I created a sugaryview about a culture and then I started to compare these characters with parents' behavior towards me and over time I thought fuck this place,I will go outside India to some sugarygoodplace.)
Eventually all this prejudice was forever destroyed when I started watching real individuals (not fictional characters)whose words changed me forever, generated a spark of eternal curiosity.
This new found curiosity made me an explorer and now I only reason I live is to explore this grand existence called life as much as possible. Conclusion : He is a loud-mouth gentleman who has a narrow view of life, especially India.

i have other opinion. it is connected to Biology as well as culture. North and South. People from North are more robust than South. A Sikh from North of India Punjab are more physically strong that a man from Andhra or Tamil Nadu. If I apply this logic,then people of Central are more physcially strong than India. Second reason is relgion. Sure Fear of Karams prevented us to shed blood of others. When Afghanistan was Buddhist how many invasions victimized India? Answer should be no.
