Thank you for watching and commenting! That’s a great suggestion. I dehydrate so many other things but I’ve never done the pulp of tomatoes…until now! I appreciate that!
I’m so stinking excited for this video! I’m growing San Mariano (7 plants.. really slow growing here in Maine .. only slightly hopeful) and another Roma .. 10 plants.. that are doing fabulous 🙂 (I also have 34 or so other tomatoes. An assortment of 20 or so types and varieties) also growing my oregano, basil and thyme 🙂
How big is your big sauce pot? And wow, you did an excellent job explaining and demonstrating why your doing what your doing. Saving for when my tomatoes are ready 🙂
@@ruthannecoro6198 thank you for watching and commenting! We just moved to NC from Lake George NY so I know the zoning difficulties you face!! We put up a greenhouse and grew 3 varieties of tomatoes in it. Loved that! I hope you find the video helpful and tasty! Feel free to reach out with any questions! I’m all about pouring into others 🩷
@@ruthannecoro6198 the main pot I use is an 18 qt pot. It holds all 45lbs of tomatoes when I add them little by little. Otherwise, I split them up, as I did in this video, and then add them to the 18 qt pot after sautéing the onions and garlic.
I added you to my subscribed list because of your detail in your video Thank you I been doing tomatoes for years I like the spices you use this is how Im doing mine this year :)
Great video. The type of tomatoes you want to use are called paste tomatoes, such as plum tomatoes, San Marzanos, and Roma tomatoes. Make great sauce and you guessed it, tomato paste.
The pulp left behind, you can also dehydrate it and make a delicious tomato powder! We tried that and it came out great! Your tomatoes are beautiful ❤

Yes! Romas seem to do well by me. But I love all paste tomatoes. San Marzano’s make a great tasting sauce too!
Love it! Looks so yummy and fresh! Your garden is beautiful 🤩
Thank you for watching and commenting. The garden is so lush right now but it’s coming to an end so time to preserve the summer flavors for winter!
How long does the sauce last in the fridge once opened?
I would use it within a week. Otherwise mold will start growing on it. Great question! Thank you.
