Incredible sunrise Rydal + Elter Water Lake District

- In this video, I capture images at Rydal Water and Elter Water in the Lake District using the Nikon Z8 and various lenses.
The Lake District, with its picturesque landscapes and serene lakes, is a photographer's paradise. One of the most magical experiences a photographer can have in this enchanting region is capturing the beauty of misty mornings. As the mist weaves its way through the hills and valleys, transforming the landscape into a dreamlike scene, every photographer's heart skips a beat.
My pal Tony and I headed to the Lake District to capture a few early morning images. We were hoping for, as we all do some interesting conditions. This time of year, you can usually expect a cold morning, frosty grass and possibly a little dusting of snow on the fell tops. While the conditions were far from our expectations, we were treated to some incredible sights. Flat-calm water with quite a bit of mist weaving its way through the trees. As a landscape photographer, you couldn't want for anything else. We knew the misty conditions wouldn't last long, so we found ourselves running around like mad fools, trying to take advantage of these rare conditions.
I was happy with the images I had created at first light, but then something magical happened. The sun rose above the Fell and burst through the mist meandering its way through the trees. What an incredible sight!

The long exposure of the boathouse was extremely nice. I also really liked the interior of the cave while looking outside at the view. But what I liked most of all was your technique of fading yourself out of both the video and audio while explaining something. It gave me a chuckle and I think it’s a brilliant move on your part in creating something a little different and interesting in your videos. Well done!

One of my favourite areas if rhs Lakes for misty moody mornings. I love that island of treen on the mound, they just stand out so well.

Wow you got some very magical shots on this day🤩 I love the reflections on the water with the misty background, just brilliant. The filming conditions were just incredible and made for some of the most beautiful images.

Hi Gary, a magificent vlog with some epic landscape images taken. What a beautiful place to visit. I've been offline for awhile and was surprised when I saw you using the Nikon Z8. Have you switched to Nikon from Canon, or just trialling it? Once again great vlog and loved all of your images. Geoff (St Helens, Tasmania).

It's hard to say from where I'm sitting, but where you were at around 4:00 looked like it might have made a good composition too, with the path leading through those trees. The poo on the path might spoil it a bit though.
Have you been to 'Slater's Bridge' - 'Cathedral Cave' - 'Loughrigg Tarn' or in Borrowdale 'Ashness Bridge' - 'Surprise View' and Watendlath?

As I use Z8's I am interested in why you were using ISO 100 as the native ISO on the Z8 is 64. Not that noise will be an issue between the two but just wondered if there was a particular reason?

As a Nikon user very interested to see how a 'Canon Fan-Boy' get's on with the Z8! The Elter Water shots answer that question! Never knew about the cave at Rydal Water?
Some great shots again Gary, loved the fog effect in the early shots and the colours in the cave shot. You mentioned the critique shot last month. I seem to have missed these recently. When is the next one please.
I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the Z8, I'm toying with getting one, currently have the EOS 5D mkiv.
