One of the things that makes Dimash my all time favourite singer is, as you said, the fact that as a listener I can just sit back and relax, knowing he will not falter. He is so good at what he does I never worry about a missed note or mistake. When other artists go for the high notes I always tense up, but never with Dimash. He will nail it. Every time.
It's been 2 and half years, since I first heard this song and still, it is one of my favorite...
You finally watched the one that started it all for him. Congratulations. Haha. Still one of his best performances! Thanks for the great reaction.

I agree. My first introduction to dimash was opera 2, but sos was the one that made me fell in love with him. Some said that he sang sos much better in slavic bazaar (or maybe in other occasions). But for me, this certain the singer 2017 sos still holds a special place in my heart.

Hi Coach. He always puts his body, heart, and soul into a song, even when you don't understand the word. "Dimash is divine." It is my statement. Kudaibergen ( 2nd name of Dimash literary means) = Kudai (God) + bergen (given) = "given by God"!

Like you, Norah, I'm completely under the spell of Dimash (in the new Qazaq spelling 'Dīmaş'). This was my first video of Dimash to watch, and I've watched it more than 200 times -- even so, I'm always in tears the way I'm now.

Keep in mind this was the first time anyone competing on the show or the audience ever heard Dimash sing.
This was one of the first songs he performed on "The Singer". You noticed the back stage performers and their comments or looks oppose to the audiences response. Dimash was the youngest participant there, plus he was the only non-Chinese person there. Most of his songs he was either translating into Chinese/Mandarin or English. This song was done in French. I feel this was Di, "I'll show you moment! The audience of 500 went wild. That's our Dimash!!! Loved your comments.

Да, мне тоже нравится исполнение этой песни Димашем именно на Сингере. Я слушала, наверное, все публичные исполнения этой песни (к сожалению, только в интернете), но на Сингере он буквально высосал из меня всю душу этим исполнением. Что-то нереальное, неземное, космическое.

I am, I guess, one of the rare ones who knew this song before Dimash.This song is a part of french rock opera "Starmania" from 1978 (there is english version "Tycoon", but I haven't seen it). The best french musical ever. Excellent piece with many good songs (maybe you know "Le blues du businessman"). Original song is masterful enough with feelings of despair, hopelessness and "suicide" vibes, and many singers did good cover of it. Dimash put his own spin and somehow his version is more hopeful so I dont connect it with original at all. This was my second "meet" with Dimash and this is the song that made me interested in him. SOS is an otherworldly song... it's haunted me since i first heard it a few years ago when this was brand new, & then immediately went and researched the song & listened the original version, etc. i'll admit it took a while to grow on me, but i now appreciate it immensely... although i do prefer dimash's cover.
i'll keep an eye out for this english version! if you haven't seen it already, caleb cole (another vocal coach) was inspired to do his own cover of SOS in english in the style of dimash, & i think it came out lovely! very interesting to hear how he translated it.

I already knew this song too, it was in my favorite since couple of years now. That's how I found Dimash in my recommended section...
@@XxKidnoffxX I had him in my feed also but didnt wanna click. RUclips was never good to me with recommending stuff😁. Then Lara put a facebook post after Adagio so, of course, I looked. Still not interested, but SOS was next video so I clicked and the rest is history.

This was the first performance of the competition. The audience and competition hadn't seen him before, and they put him first because they wanted to save the singers they already knew were good 'til the end. Surprise ! If you use the link someone gave you for Ep.4 "Autumn Strong", be sure to put on the "cc" button for the introduction. Gloria Wu provides these short, informative intros to Dimash's Singer performances, giving the background stories to the songs. (Plus Eng. subs). They are also helpful in understanding Ep. 7 "Daididau" and especially Ep. 8 "Daybreak", where the intro not only describes the tragic story behind the song, but also the problem that Dimash had with losing his voice the day before he had to sing it. Some reactors pair that performance up with that of the same song from the Bastau concert, which is better vocally, but doesn't give you the story. The competitor with the hair, and the person next to him are in the rock band Lion, who finished the competition in third place. You see them in the backstage shots throughout the competition.

This was Dimash's first performance on the Chinese 2017 'Singer' TV show. Many of the reaction shots during the song were of his competitors, who were seated in a room offstage, watching on monitors, not sitting in the audience.
The audience was simply enjoying the show and reacting emotionally to it. Dimash's competitors were struggling to grasp what he was doing with his voice from a professional's perspective. Some of them might not have seen Dimash perform before.
It's been my observation that it's the pros who are most shocked by what Dimash is doing with his voice. They are the ones who understand the difficulty level he so easily attains.
By the way, Dimash and Igor Krutoy recently performed 'Passione.' It's a strange, strange performance, and in the middle of it, Dimash delivers a rapid, precise staccato upward run that's different from anything we've heard from him before. Different from anything we've ever heard from *any* singer. It's not a glissando; those are common. This was *not* common.
I'd have said it was impossible. But not for him, obviously.
So he's not done surprising you. Strap in.

Another delightful reaction from you, Christi -- not just in your evident delight at his singing and in pointing out the amazing control and "still waters" of his singing (love the image, by the way), which is so joyful to watch; but in the way you explain some of what he's doing (and not doing) and in the suggestions for application for other vocalists.
BTW, I think this way of reacting - by stopping the song occasionally to make a point or show a brief rewind, is superior to the retro-hard-stop-to-prevent-copyright-infringement. Not only is it a lot less disruptive to the song itself, it does not take one 'out' of the listening, because your reaction continues and thus ties it all together - make sense?

Thank you for your gracious words. Last night I happened upon a performance by Sissel with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir earlier this year. The song is called "Slow Down" and it was the first time she had performed it. It is a simple, beautiful song yet was performed with such purity and grace the audience's response to her performance made Sissel herself cry at its conclusion. I am not sure it is one for your subscribers (as it is slow and meant for the lyrics to be heard) but if you have a moment to listen to it you will understand me when I say it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard.

I think you found your secret sauce. This reaction format was perfect. I actually like it better when you pause and talk about what you just heard. This is WAY better than cutting out footage. If people complain about you pausing too much, they can go watch the original video uninterrupted.

@6:30, His teachers from the music school he was immediately accepted into in Aktobe where they are from, have some great stories about how it went with Dimash and how proud they are of what he keeps accomplishing and he always stops by to say HI, and talk with them and the students etc❤ He still practices appx 3hrs daily, and swims with Olympic swimmers for his breath control 💙

What I love about this Dimash video in particular, is this is the very first introduction the other competitors, the judges, and audience have of him. He was placed first to go into the competition as an almost underdog.. maybe filler spot. Just this young kid no one had heard of from Kazakhstan. Many other people on the show had been known in China, I believe you had to have some sort of recognition in order to get on the show.
So why I love this is looking at everyone's real time reactions from this virtually unknown person.

Dear Christi, when you react to non English songs by MY LOVE Dimash you can get stories & subtitles from 3 RUclips channels. Gloria Wu & Dimash Kudaibergen & Holistic Freedom Lifestyle-Awakening With Joy. PLEASE react to the first 2 songs Igor Krutoy has composed of several planned just for Dimash. You can get the best version of Olympico & the debut of Passione from his New Wave 2019 Sochi festival that belongs to Igor as well as all the songs Dimash sang. At the end of Know Igor's granddaughter is lifted onto the stage to give him a hug.
When Dimash was approached to do this very well known Singer Competition Show in China in 2016-2017, this was the first song he did and they gained over 600million more views than ever before! Although, all of the performers are very well known..this isn't a 'got talent' type of show. And he didn't believe that he had become famous overnight 😅. But, there are quite a few performances on this that can never be done again. For example "Opera 2" original by Vitas, and "Hello" original by Lionel Ritchie...as he crushed them and those ppl tried to sue him for doing their stuff, even though they lost, they were able to forbid him from ever doing any of their stuff again 😮 but all of his performances were absolutely stunning 😍 and yes, I'm biased 😉 😂...but bc he was not only the youngest person to ever be asked to do it, he was the first foreigner to ever be in it, so he wasn't 'allowed' to win 1st place...but they've now changed the rules bc of how much they ❤ and admire him!

I found Dimash when he did this back in 2016-2017 and have been following him since ❤. Honestly please go watch when he *polished SOS up and did it in his live digital concert, so that we could still see him perform during lockdown...It's incredible! Plus you can see how much he'd 'grown' in his artistry over the 3-4yrs in between 😮❤ ##Dears4Life

He's not really a counter tenor, tho I understand why y'all say that (as there's no *box to put him in) ...And I honestly thought I could never ever have a *favorite* song by him, Then he did Ikanaide for the Tokyo Jazz Festival and although I to this day can't tell you WHY it is my absolute favorite one of his😢❤❤❤ It's just him, in his recording room with a sheet of music and it's absolutely beyond words!!!

you mentioned that each song becomes your fave....you haven't even begun to plumb his depths... he has many songs, of multiple genres, each one superlative. I especially love his slower, more contemplative songs. Late Autumn and Ocean over Time are just exquisite. Screaming is an example of a more mainstream song . the official video is awesome , but there is a live version where he raps and does it quite well.

Maestro Michel Berger, for sure, would have been happy if it was such a performer who would have come to him for an audition - all the notes were effortlessly taken, and how much strength and tenderness in this performance, what actor’s presentation of each line exactly according to the content of the song.
