Looks like good progress. I'm in the middle of doing the 60k maintenance on my 3000gt plus replacing the cv axles, tie rod ends and steering rack. Good luck my friend!
Thanks for the comment. Good luck to you as well. How many miles on your 3000gt? Are you lucky enough to have one that is only JUST hitting its first 60k maintenance?
@@AGeeksGarage Far from it. I'm right around 210k miles. This is my second time doing the 60k. I bought it at 170k miles in 2013 and all things considered, it's been pretty problem free. When I bought it, the synchros in the transmission were on their way out and it was overdue for the 60k mile service. Pulled the transmission and sent it off for repairs while I did the maintenance work. I'd never worked on a car, other than oil changes, so it there was definitely a learning curve there but it all came together. Since then, I haven't had to do much. I overhauled the interior with all new gauges and electronics, so it's pretty modern in that respect. Just make sure you stay up on the maintenance and don't let problems sit. They are pretty reliable cars if you take care of them, but you do need to stay on top of the maintenance. It's no joke.
@@alliancestrong6835 Congrats, these are such cool cars, and it seems like interest in them is starting to pick back up again. Good luck with your new toy. Would love to see pics or videos when you get it.
@@AGeeksGarage I've has two 5 speed vr4s and now I have a second gen with a 6 speed. I can honestly say I miss the 5 speed. The 5 speed's gears plenty tall, and the transmission is easier to take out.
I don’t want you to think I am not impressed by the job because it is a massive undertaking. I would only wish to see some kind of narrative during the process in order to learn some of the bit by bits. But otherwise good job. Thanks for posting
Thanks for the feedback. I will try to add more narrative to the videos going forward. The videos themselves are condensed from 8+ hours in many cases, so finding the important parts of that length of time is sometimes a challenge. Thanks again for the feedback and stay tuned, it should get much more exciting as I try to put it back together.

@@alliancestrong6835 How many miles on yours? Any known issues?
Just be glad you don't have a 6 speed transfer case, it's cast iron instead of aluminum.
Its funny I was thinking about seeing if I can convert over to a 6 speed and what the cost would be, but maybe I don't want that headache!
@@AGeeksGarage Yea it's probably going to be pricey since parts are getting harder to find. I believe You would need a new rear differential as well.

Worth restoring good job
Thanks, there aren't many of these out on the road, so I definitely agree its worth the effort to restore such a cool car of the 90s
