Amazon is going down little by little! Dont depend on it like vik said. I remember when i first started vik helped me with a few things and in peak of my first year i was making 14k a week with two trucks 🚚 the secret was i was booking two or three loads in one truck because the clerks would allow it. Triple vrid total of 12 pallets price with three routes 1500 to 1100 a day.
Now that is great information
This Peak season was trash, drivers gotta stop accepting those low paying loads so the rates can go up.
They grabbing them left and right bruh!! 🤷🏾♂️

Say you rent and are young and have high insurance and your cost is 1.25 a mile but I own and I am older over 35 and mine is 0.88 a mile see how I can take a load for 1.6 and make money 💰

Thank you for sharing this valuable info. People need to know delivery is not easy to master. New people just go to truck driving school and do it the right way. Be a professional. Be proud of your career. Don't cut corners. If you have a Class CDL . your trucking company and work for Amazon relay out the door.
You inspired me I'm waiting on my eld and insurance quote tomorrow. I'm gonna have to run like a chicken with my head cut off at first but it's all gonna work out. I'm doing box trucking on LTL and SB some decent rates on the long hauls

BigVic the amaxon boxtruck drivers in california are owned small company’s and are in contract with Amazon.
Hey Vic, those blue Amazon trucks you see are franchise based. It's 40k to start with Amazon and they provide the trucks. The reason you see them more and more which I see plenty in Durham is because they are taking our loads. Unfortunately they plan to operate like Walmart and have their own take loads. It might take a while but I believe that is their plan. It's also on their website on how to become a partner. I have seen this before and Walmart operates like that, not using to many independent carriers
Sounds nice and all wait till your drivers crashes and guess who getting sued. You are my friend 😂 those programs are for free labor for amazon. Yall need to stop it
Yep I’ve noticed that in my area with the Amazon trucks. They have a good amount of drivers now and they have taken up the local routes I use to sign up for. I’m just glad we have multiple options for booking loads that doesn’t have to be Amazon.
Another headwind, you may have missed is the fact larger carriers have been given large contracts and operating a cross dock. They bid on the best routes in my area and certain stops have completely disappeared for months. The carrier in my domicile has maybe 30 trucks and drivers. The local loads in my area belong to them. During peak season I heard they were hiring trucks there and the pay sounded better than the load board at the time.
I mentioned that a couple years ago. I’ve seen them same sweet local routes disappear as well. Figured they were snatched up under contract. Every now and again I’ll see them pop back up but not often.

If I dont have an assets to protect (only me and my cat) Can I start/test owner operating box truck biz with my ssn? and will it work for Amazon relay, DAT? Is here anyone who has started as an individual or solo prop? I know I can register an authority as an individual for sure.
Thanks for the info I had got a 26ft box truck but it’s not dock height it’s around 35” height regular dock high is around 48” you think I can get loads with Amazon relay wit the 26ft truck located in IL
If you buy some ramps and measure the height it could help.
Yes, you can. The Amazon docks can tilt down, but I hope you have a lift gate that will help you offload at the post offices. Amazon can give you loads to areas that only have docks, so even if you don't have a lift gate, you are good. I hope this helps.

Hey how it’s going got a good question for you I see a box truck for a very good price and it’s seems like the time is now to purchase but my question is there is a 180 day wait before you can get access to your own load board my buddy already has access so can I have my own insurance and run under his authority
He can add you as a leased driver to his company and you’ll have to use his magnets or decals on the side of your truck for Amazon.

Have four kids and just feel stuck with the current situation, feel constantly reminded by my employer that they own me. I have a quick question regarding the 180 day wait with Amazon Relay. Can I register for my DOT and MC number and just sit on those two for six months while I wait and finish up the details and have an exit strategy for when I can run Amazon? Located in Cincinnati.

@@andrewnoland6605 you’ll have to have active commercial insurance with a minimum 750k minimum to coverage on a commercial vehicle. Look it up on FMCSA.dot.gov for minimum requirements to go active.

Can a 26 ft box truck book a 16 ft box truck load? I know that's sounds self explanatory but I just wanted your opinion on it big homie
Those 16ft cube box truck loads are booked for lower clearance post offices. If you get there and can't unload with that 26' truck that could cause an issue at the post office or create more work for you possibly using a lift gate to the ground and possibly running behind on your next drop. I wouldn't recommend trying to do it.
Yes and No. Like he said, it could be a problem, especially if the post office is one of the old buildings from the 1800s or early 1900s. With my over 3 years of tapping into Amazon relay, I have known most of the post office and know what the loading dock looks like in size and height. Most of the times I look through satellite and view the location and area before I book or drive to the location so I don't get any weird surprises. So you got to know the drop-off location and familiar with the place. Don't see a 16-foot truck pick up, and you have a 26-foot truck. It could be a great disaster. Do your research and ask questions. Good luck.

No. But make your life easier and buy one with a lift gate. That’s an extra service you can charge for. ✌🏽

Weekly.. Starts Sun - cuts off Sat midnight. Pays out following Thursday. ✌🏾

Does Amazon relay require trucks to have lift gates?
It’s in the requirements and if you book a load that requires one and you don’t have a lift gate your load will be rejected. I’d suggest have one. People have ran loads without one mostly because their familiar with a routes that doesn’t require a lift gate. 👍🏾

It's not the box truck. It's the person running the operation of the box truck. Everyone is different. I can't speak for everyone.
How do you reapply if your application was denied?
You’d need to reach out to Compliance or RMIS which is their 3rd party verification company and find out why you were denied. Google RMIS ✌🏽
