      @@j.calrissian2735 thanks for watching, and glad to hear you enjoyed the beginning. All but two of our reviews have a silly opening. Still not sure if we are going to keep them. A lot of people switch off immediately. This is a really early video, not our best work. Hope to see you back in the future.

    What are your thoughts on the SCS line? I put some special stuff in the video for the Walther fanboys. There is also a special, alternate intro at the end of the video for the WFBs. All in good fun.

    Looking to get a dot for my M&P 2.0 Metal Carry Comp. Was considering this for the direct mount but the optic window is small as you mentioned. Considering the 407c and just running a metal plate. Any thoughts on this or a better optic? Mostly range use. Thanks!

    • @The2AExperiment
      @The2AExperiment  2 месяца назад

      The SCS turned out to be descent on our M&P 2.0 Metal Competitor, after we had Floyd's port the barrel. This occurred after we did the SCS video. Even though it has a small window, the dot doesn't leave the window because the gun stays so flat and returns to zero so well. The SCS is still not ideal for the PDP, due to the snappiness of the gun.
      We don't own the metal carry comp, but if you have a good, tight grip, the SCS should work well enough on the comped gun. The issue with most dots is they are too tall to cowitness to, and if the dot goes down, or your battery dies, you are out of luck if you cannot see your sights. If that doesn't matter to you then just about anything will work.
      We reviewed the Cyelee Cobra X Pro, and we have become big fans of the dot. All the features you want, like big window, extremely durable, and very inexpensive - about $220 with discount codes. If your main goal is range use, that may be the way to go as you can spend the extra money you save on ammo. I like the dot so much it is on my everyday carry, but that gun has suppressor height sights. I heard their other dots are pretty good too.
      In short, everyone and their brother is making a dot now, even plate makers like C&H, and others like PSA. Most dots are going to do the trick for the range. I was shooting a polymer Crimson Trace dot today that came on my M&P 2.0 Compact Optic ready. Not a great dot, but it was fee, and it works. If you are someone who must cowitness your dot, the SCS is about all you have for the low sights on the carry comp...maybe the Steiner MPS is low enough. The 407/8 is too tall for most sights and really has no benefit over other less expensive options, unless you care about the solar function. The window is only slightly bigger than the SCS too, but at least you can get it in red and it is manual adjust for brightness.
      I know that's a lot, and it really doesn't answer your questing, but there are so many options out there, and so many price points. By the way, have never had an issue with any of the plastic plates on our optic ready M&Ps. We still use the ones that came with the gun, and they have been flawless. Just throwing it out there. Let us know what you decide to go with and congrats on your new Metal Carry Comp.

      @@The2AExperiment No, this was very useful. I appreciate the detailed response. I ended up going with the SCS due to direct mount. It's a small window and who knows how long it'll really last, but it'll be a good test.

  • @OBZ74
    @OBZ74 2 месяца назад

    The issue with the dot is that you can’t adjust the brightness! The overwriting is only make makes the reticle more brighter and not less brighter.

    • @The2AExperiment
      @The2AExperiment  2 месяца назад +1

      I go back and forth with auto-adjust dots. They are always bright enough, in a pinch, but for range use, and anything indoors, I prefer to make my own adjustments. The other issue with this particular dot is that the dot setting is pretty bad indoors, because as you said, it can only get brighter, so it is really starbursted, while the circle dot stays really crisp. The other thing is, it is green, so it really shows up. I have similar auto-adjust dots in red, and they do not bother me as much. Thanks for commenting and stopping by.

    Have you tried a suppressor with the scs? I’d think it would be too low?

    • @The2AExperiment
      @The2AExperiment  7 месяцев назад +1

      We did shoot it with a supressor and it was high enough to see over it. It probably depends on the supressor. We used a Basish 45 and it was fine. We did a review of the PDP Pro and talked about shooting it suppressed. Thanks for watching and commenting. We have some more vids up you can check out too. Have a good one

    Green is better for shooters that have an astigmatism (like me). It's also brighter at lower power and faster to pick up.
    Green FTW.

    • @The2AExperiment
      @The2AExperiment  2 месяца назад +1

      I have heard the same things about green vs red dots. I own many red and green dots, and I really prefer the far less distracting red dot. I guess my eyes aren't bad enough to need green yet, and it really makes it harder to be target focused when it is so bright and distracting. I do not mind green as much if it is manual adjust and I can make it almost invisible. As to the power factor, when it comes to the SCS, power should not be an issue, as it is always charging. If battery life was the main issue, I get it. In the end, we are all very luck to have so many options. And, the SCS has grown on me a bit. It is a really technologically cool optic, and the low deck height is only rivaled by the Romeo X Pro. Thanks for the comment.

      Ha. That opening was in response to several unhappy comments on our PDP Pro SD video. Apparently, some people were offended that we didn't like the cheap sights. We were hoping Walther fans would start demanding steel, cowitnessable sights. It didn't work. However, looks like Walther is releasing a new Professional model that comes with all the fixins. Thanks for the comment.

      @@The2AExperiment Yeah man, no problem. And you're right, an optic ready pistol that doesn't have cowitness sights is silly. But, in their defense, there is no right option. I've seen the complaints since the launch. But which sights are the right ones? I'm fine getting stock sights to then swap out after I find something I like.
      Keep up the good work. I watched this vid trying to decide about putting an SCS on a PDP.

      @@zendell37I chopped this video based on RUclips analytics. It was mostly subjective stuff, but I wish I hadn't. The SCS is kind of a love/hate optic for me. It really depends on what you like and what you are using it for. Good luck choosing.

      @@petedetraglia4776 This was one of our first vids, so I really chopped it down, but I talked more about it in the original take. Specifically, I actually sent my first SCS back to Holosun because I thought the dot setting was broken as it starbursted so bad. They sent me a new one and it was exactly the same. My circle dot setting is actually very clear, it is just the dot only setting that is really bad on my two copies. Thanks for watching and commenting.
