My son is 9 and I am 38. Please pray for us as we love one another so much but only get to be together once every other weekend. He cries when having to leave and lights up when arriving. Are you sure that you are going to Heaven? You pray and you pray but your prayers are never answered, you say to yourself that God works in mysterious ways and perhaps with God's help everything will be alright in the future but you know deep down inside yourself that your pleas and prayers will never be answered because in the big scheme of things you are just not important enough for Jesus to take any action on your behalf. Jesus is a busy guy and there are millions of Christians praying to him every minute of every day, that's billions of prayers he has to consider and prioritise, next he has to check up on whether or not you have been faithful and have been paying your tithes, whether you have asked forgiveness for the plethora of sins you have committed lately and whether or not you have been attending church. If you get a pass on all of God's questions then maybe you'll be put on the list but this is no guarantee that Jesus will see things your way and grant your wishes. If only i have lived in the old days and got that glorious chance to meet Our Lord, the first thing that always comes to my mind is feel troubled finding a way to make him laugh thinking of a good joke. I never even knew before and have known in after that in The Holy Bible there was not a verse that Our Lord laughed 😞 and i learned the only thing written was he wept. The hardest lesson I had to learn is that sometimes when we pray, the answer is no. Not that it is meant to be harsh or unfeeling, but like a parent to a child it's done with love because He knows better.

I sometimes feel I’m not worthy of His love. But then He comforts me, reminding me that he loves me unconditionally.

Are you sure that you are going to Heaven? You pray and you pray but your prayers are never answered, you say to yourself that God works in mysterious ways and perhaps with God's help everything will be alright in the future but you know deep down inside yourself that your pleas and prayers will never be answered because in the big scheme of things you are just not important enough for Jesus to take any action on your behalf.
Jesus is a busy guy and there are millions of Christians praying to him every minute of every day, that's billions of prayers he has to consider and prioritise, next he has to check up on whether or not you have been faithful and have been paying your tithes, whether you have asked forgiveness for the plethora of sins you have committed lately and whether or not you have been attending church.
If you get a pass on all of God's questions then maybe you'll be put on the list but this is no guarantee that Jesus will see things your way and grant your wishes.

The hardest lesson I had to learn is that sometimes when we pray, the answer is no. Not that it is meant to be harsh or unfeeling, but like a parent to a child it's done with love because He knows better.
How do you know the answer is no?
This sounds like some hallmark card BS my guy but faith. I know God has the best out for me. So when I pray to win the lottery and don't, he said no. He figured I wouldn't be the best steward for such a fortune.

I wish it was clear whether or not Jesus/the Bible are to be taken literally or metaphorically or both.. the teachings are absolutely vital, but I do not understand if *"Heaven"* is a state of being which we can attain during this lifetime or if it truly is a kingdom we can go to once we pass on.

However, I agree with you. I also don't know for sure what Jesus meant with Heaven. We have to keep in mind, too, that Jesus, as the Son of God, most likely had to dumb down his words so that mortals could even begin to grasp what He was saying. There is a metaphysical reality that even the Greeks were stumped on and I believe Jesus was the spiritual teacher that actually managed to explain it to us in the best way possible.
