Is a cosmetic surgeon the same thing as a plastic surgeon?

I tried to be as gentle with this topic as I could but phew this whole situation has gotten far out of control. It’s the wild Wild West now and patients - including ones in healthcare can’t tell what’s what.
This gives you an idea of how it works and the difference in training for a “cosmetic” vs “plastic” surgeon.

Dr Amaka. I truly appreciate your candor. The only thing I can surmise regarding why someone wouldn't want to go through the lengthy process of a plastic surgery residency vs a short certification is greed 🤷🏾‍♀️ They want to make a quick buck and would rather not spend the time, nor the money on a residency program. That in and of itself is scary, and I wouldn't want someone with that mindset touching me with a ten foot pole.
