@@kardo8942 because of many reasons but the top of the pile is that she’s terrible at casting for SSBU which is where she got her start. She has a terrible candor, and I haven’t seen her ever put on a satisfactory performance. Seeing her fail upwards is infuriating. Technicals did a rather comprehensive reporting on her misadventures.
I'm all for representation of people with disabilities, but let's be real with ourselves. Her job is to talk, and that's exactly what her disability inhibits her from coherently doing. She shouldn't be a caster.

THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING JUNEBURG!!!! My goodness! I thought I was going crazy thinking that man knows NOTHING about brawl. Also, props to Dara for actually knowing a lot about the game's mechanics, despite it not being her main game.
One of the best videos BH related that i've seen in a WHILE. Hope they actually change the casters to other ppl from the BH community cuz rn i just watch muted or go to a pro player watch party.
They should be getting pros that have put a decent amount of time in the game and are no longer interested in play competitive to be do the casting eg boomie, phazon, coslix. I doubt if they would turn down free money just to talk give commmentary on a game they have a good amount of knowledge about. It's a win-win for the community. BMG should do better
5:00 Taza? He's by far the best technical caster I've seen on this game over the years. I personally prefer him over Foda because he creates a narrative and goes into detail into the mindset of the players, and both of them on the casting would hype and narrate a story along with the game which was 10/10 times HYPE!
Spicy video tu put out these days hahahha. Nice one dude, liked it a lot. Wanna say I actually like how Daramgar casts. Gotta also say, though, that her impediment does distract me a lot during the games.. Greetings from Spain ^^
I feel like a lot of people think this way, including myself. Dara is good at casting, but the speech impediment is hard to ignore, especially if you aren’t fluent in English. Thanks for the support 😄
It’s crazy because A LOT of the new casters just know NOTHING about the game, they spend so much time mentioning really silly stats like damage and weapon throws etc instead of talking about good reads or off stage plays that were the actual turning points of a set, something that sets Foda, Duc and Taza above the other commentators is their knowledge on how good these pros really are and how hard it is to achieve what they achieve each set
12:36 kung fu panda showdown of legendary legends slander will not be tolerated. that game was genuinely a big part of my childhood playing it with my cousins was so fun
I don't know if this is still a case but I remember that I used to hate it when TK was casting because that guy couldn't even say the name of a player but rather just called them by the legend which he did a lot. This also proves your point that he isn't too invested in the Brawlhalla community because even names like Cody or Phazon got replaced by Barazza and Val by him
This sucks so much man, the people you've mentioned here are absolutely excellent in their own games and I appreciate how you've mentioned that. As somebody who pays a lot of attention to both smash in addition to brawlhalla I can somewhat confidently say that your point about monetary motivation is almost certainly a lot more true than it might seem by just watching this video, legendary smash casters like Coney, ee, and of course TK have very often mentioned how little smash casting pays in comparison to other games at times. Very disappointing that one solution to that is to simply hop over to another game and screw around for a couple of days as opposed to attempting to get genuinely interested in the game ☹️
They should actually fire Dara , she has a medical condition but she isnt doing her job well because the audience can barely understand her. Its literally so hard to watch brawl tournaments without muting them
100% agree with everything said in this video! As someone that used to commentate for the local scene here in Southern Africa and would like to go further as a caster in the scene, I shall be taking notes from this video!
OMG i was feeling this recently with all the tournaments, this video just confirmed for me that it wasn't just me that felt casters have had no energy for the past 2 years
Also, foda was the only diamond caster so he knew fundamentals, reads etc. Most casters are golds or dont even olay the game thus not understanding a lot of things like missinputs, not dodging on purpose, some specific reads or just the player's intention. While watching the autumn's royale round robin, during a match between wess and acno, acno had a kill if he groundpounded with sword and he dashed and dsigged on stage (it was OBVIOUSLY a missinput) and the casters thought he did it hoping wess was gonna panic and fall into it. He didnt even have enough resources (literally only a jump) to get back on the stage, he HAD to touch the wall
Funny thing is, Daramgar does her job even though she has an issue, that one match where TurnDownforWalt was going off topic and a clip worthy play was happening Dara dropped that topic and focused on the match where Walt tried to continue that topic
I 100% agree with you! It is sad that I rather watch a streamer with like 20 viewers watching the tourney than watching the official stream, I even think I have watched reaction streams for like the last 2 Years. And keep up the good work man your Videos are always fun to watch
I can't watch Brawlhalla Esports much anymore due to my current schedule, but every time I do I absolutely notice the lack of energy. The set that first got me into brawl was literally the first example you used, Boomie vs Sandstorm, Grand Finals of the mountain dew tournament. So seeing clips with them as if they just woke up after only getting 2 hours of sleep is very sad to me. If I could take a second to shout out my favorite caster (next to Foda), if you ever want proof that casting is important you only need to look at Striker Hutassa's channel. He runs Armored Core 6 tournaments, which is a game where a ton can happen in very little time and is generally not the easiest thing to spectate. Despite this, his knowledge of the game and general hype make even the incredibly chaotic 3v3 tournaments very engaging and surprisingly easy to follow. He also just epitomizes literally everything you said about what a good caster does, all while being incredibly positive in a community that gets very toxic very fast.
When I watch CS2 Tourneys I fail to understand how people can talk so much calculated stuff while its happening live. When I watch Brawlhalla tourneys I fall asleep.
Flambo is one of my favorite casters. He knows exactly what to say to hype up the gameplay. The Sting Ray comeback and the Acno 1v2 clutch at BCX are so hype because of Flambo.
making a video about the state of casting without mentioning the goat duo that is Foda-Stevens should be criminal. All in all, great vid, your points were well-presented and I truly hope bmg sees this
Fair, like I’ve said to other commenters, I didn’t put every single caster who I think does a good job or bad job in this video since there are quite a few people I’d have to get through
For me there's another reason: the commentators are only talking about the game on a tournament- and more abstract layer. They will say things like "X really needs to win this", "Y is nervous" or "Z needs a comeback", but never about actual combos, gameplay, real strategies and the game itself. I remember watching Boomie watch a tournament on twitch and how I was mindblown by how deep he went and how much I learned about the game while he was "casting".
You have made so many points I made in my head while commenting on VODS. Thank you for the video! we hope that it will be fixed soon. great video. deserve more subs.
you outlined everything perfectly but yeah foda needs to like be on the front lines again instead of behind the scenes, tournaments really don't hit the same and haven't for a long time, on top of that we need locals again that moment where sting ray made a clutch comeback an the crowd was their to live go crazy was insane
personally i would love if they bring guest casters? as in let megod, sandstorm etc cast for one game every now and then in other region tourney. Like how fun it would be.
Unrelated to casting, Markiemoo isn’t some new name from 2024, he’s Eat My Onions. He went by Markiemoo on console and changed names on PC, switched it back now that he started placing consistently.
Literally last night I watched a tdfw video about how junebug became the highest ranked dk in melee ever, I did not know junebug ever did commentary until this video.
As a sentinel main, love the gameplay lol, i agree with all the points made tho, i get all hyped up myself watching the tournaments, especially when those crazy combos happen, and its weird seeing the casters be dry as hell
Honestly I just feel bad for Dara. They should not be a commentator unless they can somehow get past the speech impediment. It suck’s because I can genuinely feel the passion and I think they’re a lot better now than when they started but I really just don’t like listening to them. anyways PLEASE FODA COME BACK ILL GIVE YOU ANYTHING PLEASE I LOVE YOU
@@Zabu_BH if you genuinely think they hired dara for "being a good caster even with rotocism" or anything like that you are wrong. They did it for "inclusion" because NO ONE in the right mind would hire someone with a lot of drama left behind and rothacism. And what I mean by inclusion is, dara was not born like a she if yk what I mean (I fear RUclips deleting my comment)
Honestly yeah past couple majors sometimes I’m in my head thinking can you it’s pls stfu, can’t even hear the game over whatever they are talking about.😂
this video deserves an subscription, but i think foda deserves dev vacation during tournaments i mean the time he would cast instead of developing the game
So glad you made this video trials of Freya casting was so bad. Glad I'm not the only one who felt like they were just going through the motions. So un inspiring they should be sparking us to want to boot up our consoles to kicks ass in ranked via commentary. Inspiring us to hit the lab via their voices but they sound like they've long uninstalled the game.
yeah, and that's why i don't watch tournaments anymore, it feels literally empty, and it's obvious why that happends when you have a caster from another fighting game, everything they see in brawlhalla, it's a small combo with 3-4 hits separately when that in their main game they're casting it's impossible to see bc that games allows u to do like 20 hits in a few seconds. they just CAN'T understand which doing a doge read in brawlhalla is like that in their main game. and from casters which are interested in the game but has no idea what they're saying, it's not hard men, even a gold understand what attack they're doing, is you're really interested u must catch it up pretty quickly and easy bc brawlhalla has nothing compared to another fighting games about moveset, offensive, deffensive, attackset, etc
Bro I thought I was the only one who noticed. The commentators contribute heavily to the hype of the Tourney . Yet some cast like they ain't tryna be here . Brawlhalla needs to address this
Im so happy you made this video. I have been thinking the same for months, but I never though we would see a vid aboit it. I remember them screaming their lungs out three times a game, and now they have chit-chat while the players sweat for their lives. Truly depressing. Thanks for your work. Edit: you legit left out Taza here 4:59 no way bro...
Taza is a great caster, I was just naming 3 casters for consistency sake (since I named 3 smash casters afterwards). That’s why I said “among” because the list I gave wasn’t everyone who’s good.
dara's casting has improved a lot since she first came to brawlhalla. she's invested, doesn't go off topic too much and actually cares about the game. her rhotacism isn't even that bad when you get used to it, she can't pronounce r's properly but she still speaks clearly enough, it's not like xqc is on the mic speaking gibberish 💀 also im surprised pjthepuff wasn't mentioned here, he only started this year and imo his casting improved surprisingly quick for someone from another game, he brings a good amount of energy and doesn't stray off topic as well.
I agree that Dara is invested and knowledgeable, but it’s an undeniable fact that the speech impediment makes people turn off the stream. If they didn’t have it then they’d be a great caster. Also, PJ is also good caster from what I’ve seen. I didn’t mention every caster I thought was good, but he’s one of them
honestly im surprised cuz tkbreezy used to be super hype and hes even 2300 elo in brawlhalla. But as of recently it seems like he doesn't care anymore. He even has a RUclips channel were he uploaded brawlhalla. edit: it seems many dont know about Tkbreezys brawlhalla RUclips i sadly cant find it anymore but i do remember it he was 2300 on jaeyun edit: Nvm that was flambo im sry guys
I would also like to contribute to this by saying this would've never happened if 2020 didn't happen the way it did. Smash bros has been a dying community since 2020 with all the SA allegations, misconduct, false narratives, etc. It's still alive but not to the heights as it once was since Nintendo has completely taken over the grassroots scene which is how most of them (Junebug especially) got their start. It's only natural that they would migrate to another scene that's the closest to what they can resonate with but you can tell that none of them have put enough time into the game to even tell you what's going on. There was actual passion with Foda, Duc, Sparky, and the rest of them compared to what we have today and it's a complete turn off to anyone watching. There's no excitement, barely any mid-game analysis going on, no post game strategies from commentary as in *"what could x player have done instead of y."* They are only here for a bag and there's nothing wrong with chasing the loot but at least put effort into it so that the rest of the community doesn't have to suffer from your lack of it. They are passively killing the scene but these will also be the same type of people that will grieve with it when it's gone knowing they were part of the problem. Tldr: Authenticity is gone. Edit: I'm still halfway through the video and everything you've said matches up. I'm just a broken record rn lol
I do agree with pretty much everything in this video, I rlly did wish people liked dara more just cause I believe she's the only caster from smash to genuinely love the game as she actually talks about it at least on twitter and seems to have more interest in it than smash. I personally don't see too much of an issue with her impediment and think people overreact to it just to hate on smth as that in itself seems to be an issue with our comm but cant rlly change that.
I agree Dara seems to actually enjoy Brawl more than their Smash counterparts, but the impediment does bother some people. Personally I don’t think it’s too bad, however sometimes when they’re casting I have to stop and think about what words they said, and that takes away from the gameplay. I think a lot of people are the same way, but I agree that some people way overreact about it.
Apparently she got hardymj banned for basically disagreeing with her opinion. Sure she dosent deserve to be hated (even tho I could see why some people would), and her comments are sometimes also poorly done, so that could lead to people disliking her aswel.
@@nothappierthanme6146 I just think shes one of the better casters we currently have so I dont believe the hate is deserved, i honestly dont know about the hardy thing as I joined the comp scene relatively recently but i doubt many people even know about that if thats true. Ive only seen transphobic remarks and speech impendent when it comes to hate with the person, idk what u mean with comments r poorly done cause I personally havent seen that more than any other caster
I don't want to sound like a hater but this a big problem this is the major reason i don't watch tournaments anymore it got sto bad i started watching leauge worlds and this coincided with the end of BCX 2022 i just started watching leauge eventually downloaded and played the game cause of how the casters made the game feel. I even started CS,CS:GO and CS2 i would have started that game by now if not for the fact my pc can't run it
after watching this video, my biggest gripe with the casters are still Daramgar, i just cant stand that commentary and no matter how hard i try to understand how someone with that condition seeks a job about talking and gets it, i cant understand why or how. Just absolutely destroyes the watching experience. Its like going to watch a Race car championship with the best and loudest cars in the world, and they are all just completely silent.
Can we also stop acting like we don’t know what dara is saying she is not speaking another language or an alien she literally just can’t pronounce her R’s that well you can literally understand.
agree with most of the vid except just in case u didnt know, tk has been a caster for brawl since pretty much the beginning of bh esports... so i wouldn't really consider him "imported" and he def knows (or should know?) a decent amount about the game. i think the most glaring part about him is that his casting partner affects his own performance a lot (imo flambo and tk are def up there for casting duos alongside duc/sparky and foda/steven). he feels like a "go with the flow" caster which i would assume comes from his experience in casting multiple games, which sadly backfires when the other caster isn't saying much of value. your problem with june (not knowing characters or attacks) is something i also saw with walt who defaults to calling every attack a "swing", which makes him sound unknowledgeable. while watching autumn champs i started doubting how many attacks he actually knows... i've seen a few of the tweets from some known casters saying they'd respond to your vid soon and i'm genuinely hoping that they don't just deny all of it... because this is a real issue and bmg WILL listen if the people they trust bring it up (see: boomie's rants and sandstorm quitting because of the terrible state of the game a few years back) and because everyone else in the comments is shouting out their fav casters, besides the ogs (duc, sparky, foda, taza, flambo, twk, toast), i want to say i really enjoyed steven's casting. i'm pretty sure he's said he's an animator at bmg so you'd never expect him to have so much knowledge about the game mechanics. he's amazing at articulating his thoughts of the current game state (what strategy each player is looking out for, what they may be feeling, etc), and was all around a high energy guy, which matched foda very well who he was paired with pretty much exclusively. i'm genuinely sad that most of his time casting was during the covid/online era because i really would've loved seeing him cast more on LAN. hoping one day they'll bring back foda and steven together as a surprise 🙏
fody, slow motion, sparky, taza, some my fav casters. they know how to cast well overall and i agree w this vid 100%, this was a needed wakeup call. Casting has def become HORRIBLE. hopefully bmg sorts it out for us going into bcx/ 2025
Exactly, that’s what some people in the comments aren’t understanding. Even if you yourself are unbothered by it, when you have more people talking about the caster being hard to listen to rather than the gameplay itself, it’s objectively a problem.
Okay I have no idea why some of the text decided to become semi-transparent after rendering the video, my rendering software is trying to sell the bag 😢

@@quintissaviengvong2371she said being trans was braver than being in the army, hardymj (the best gs player in the world at the time) disagreed and she proceeded to get him banned saying she felt unsafe and blah blah blah. Dara has stayed a caster ever since and will be a commentator at bcx this year, hardy has been banned since 2022
Daramgar and her consequences. She lowered the standard of esports casting as a whole to the point where it spread to other games like a cancer.
Why she specifically?
@@kardo8942 because of many reasons but the top of the pile is that she’s terrible at casting for SSBU which is where she got her start. She has a terrible candor, and I haven’t seen her ever put on a satisfactory performance. Seeing her fail upwards is infuriating. Technicals did a rather comprehensive reporting on her misadventures.
I'm all for representation of people with disabilities, but let's be real with ourselves. Her job is to talk, and that's exactly what her disability inhibits her from coherently doing. She shouldn't be a caster.
idk why im getting so worked up about that markiemoo clip not being hyped up in the slightest
It was an absolute robbery, they should’ve been so hyped for such an amazing clip
@@TrippedUp I was watching it live, and I was absolutely tripping when there was basically no reaction. Hype moment but the casters just deadened it
It’s called sandstorm favoritism. Idk how u didn’t notice this over all this time. Sandstorm can do a 2p combo and they go insane but when he gets clipped they don’t seem to care.
comparing brawls casters to rocket leagues is night and day, i feel like im nornally watching any old game with brawl but the casters in rl seem to always be the most important game to have ever been played
The hype behind "THIS IS ROCKET LEAGUE" needs a vid of its own
Honestly, trip this is a very good video with amazing points and details unfortunately its just highly unlikely anything is changing
I did my part, that’s all I can say 🤷♂️
@@TrippedUpwe thank you for that 🙏
100% true and facts. WAtched the markie vs sandstorm set and my friend thought it was a fucking podcast.
Honestly think I’ve watched the last 5 tournaments on mute while listening to music because they don’t say anything that i consider valuable and they don’t make me hyped up or more invested in the match than I already am. Great vid I’m glad at least someone else noticed
Thank you for addressing the Dara issue. And overall good points, BMG needs to see this.
I agree, I love Taza’s casting. As I’ve said to other comments, I didn’t put all the casters I think are good or bad in my video
Bro, if we can get Boomie, eggsoup, and Foda to cast, that would be legendary
It’s crazy because A LOT of the new casters just know NOTHING about the game, they spend so much time mentioning really silly stats like damage and weapon throws etc instead of talking about good reads or off stage plays that were the actual turning points of a set, something that sets Foda, Duc and Taza above the other commentators is their knowledge on how good these pros really are and how hard it is to achieve what they achieve each set
I literally have to turn down the volume and play jazz in the back when watching tourneys its suffering to listen to them... great vid ong
Its literally so hard to watch brawl tournaments without muting them
"Its so so late" meanwhile anyone in EU who is watching NA grands at 3am
Flambo is really good at the game (2300 from what I remember)
@@tarttatin3549 oh I see, didn't know that
Funny thing is, Daramgar does her job even though she has an issue, that one match where TurnDownforWalt was going off topic and a clip worthy play was happening Dara dropped that topic and focused on the match where Walt tried to continue that topic
This is legit one of the best brawlhalla videos I've seen
I 100% agree with you! It is sad that I rather watch a streamer with like 20 viewers watching the tourney than watching the official stream, I even think I have watched reaction streams for like the last 2 Years.
And keep up the good work man your Videos are always fun to watch
My thoughts if it was a video.
Good job, this was well made.
They need to start taking notes from CS and Rocket League casting
Mac vs Scary had one of the best Brawhalla commentary ever.
I love all clips when the brawlhalla casters pop off it’s so satisfying
Literally last night I watched a tdfw video about how junebug became the highest ranked dk in melee ever, I did not know junebug ever did commentary until this video.
RUclips really said ''hey watch this guys video about a game you barely played like 5 years ago.
They were right so who am i to complain
As a sentinel main, love the gameplay lol, i agree with all the points made tho, i get all hyped up myself watching the tournaments, especially when those crazy combos happen, and its weird seeing the casters be dry as hell
Honestly I just feel bad for Dara. They should not be a commentator unless they can somehow get past the speech impediment. It suck’s because I can genuinely feel the passion and I think they’re a lot better now than when they started but I really just don’t like listening to them.
anyways
PLEASE FODA COME BACK ILL GIVE YOU ANYTHING PLEASE I LOVE YOU
How did they think it was a good idea to have her ? Why make a guy with no hands write a book
@@icefire4814 idc what ever someome is. For all i care is why do a job like casting when you have these spelling mistakes no offense.
@@Zabu_BH I agree with you, I was just answering your question
I’m glad you’re taking about this I only recently started watch bh esports again after 5 years and it just seemed off to me
Honestly yeah past couple majors sometimes I’m in my head thinking can you it’s pls stfu, can’t even hear the game over whatever they are talking about.😂
absolutely right especially the hype part.
casters just sound depressed...
this video deserves an subscription, but i think foda deserves dev vacation during tournaments i mean the time he would cast instead of developing the game
Bro, the “scream” 5:34 was so unexpected
I didn't expect anyone to make a video on the topic but I can't agree less
So glad you made this video trials of Freya casting was so bad. Glad I'm not the only one who felt like they were just going through the motions. So un inspiring they should be sparking us to want to boot up our consoles to kicks ass in ranked via commentary. Inspiring us to hit the lab via their voices but they sound like they've long uninstalled the game.
completely agree, any tourney following brawl player can tell the casting has fallen off drastically recently
yeah, and that's why i don't watch tournaments anymore, it feels literally empty, and it's obvious why that happends when you have a caster from another fighting game, everything they see in brawlhalla, it's a small combo with 3-4 hits separately when that in their main game they're casting it's impossible to see bc that games allows u to do like 20 hits in a few seconds.
they just CAN'T understand which doing a doge read in brawlhalla is like that in their main game. and from casters which are interested in the game but has no idea what they're saying, it's not hard men, even a gold understand what attack they're doing, is you're really interested u must catch it up pretty quickly and easy bc brawlhalla has nothing compared to another fighting games about moveset, offensive, deffensive, attackset, etc
Dude, i also miss steven so much (i think it was his name), you know the ginger guy who casted a lot alongside foda? The guy was hilarious
really well put together video manne
Been noticing that recently too, awesome video
"Tf is a down whight wecowewey" had me wheezing 😭
the SML music gave me a jumpscare. wasn't expecting it.
foda and sparky are top tier imo
you gave a lot of really good reasons for the issues lately
Boomie is the greatest Brawlhalla Caster icl
I always thought the new commentators knew nothing about the game turns out I was right
Bro the Caster for League was funny asf 🤣
dara's casting has improved a lot since she first came to brawlhalla. she's invested, doesn't go off topic too much and actually cares about the game. her rhotacism isn't even that bad when you get used to it, she can't pronounce r's properly but she still speaks clearly enough, it's not like xqc is on the mic speaking gibberish 💀
also im surprised pjthepuff wasn't mentioned here, he only started this year and imo his casting improved surprisingly quick for someone from another game, he brings a good amount of energy and doesn't stray off topic as well.
I agree that Dara is invested and knowledgeable, but it’s an undeniable fact that the speech impediment makes people turn off the stream. If they didn’t have it then they’d be a great caster. Also, PJ is also good caster from what I’ve seen. I didn’t mention every caster I thought was good, but he’s one of them
I had no idea Ubisoft bought them out. That will probably mean no changes...sadly
Great video litterally exact same thoughts and im glad others agree with you too
Hopefully something changes
I miss the 2018 -2019 competitive scene
FODA used to be the goat fr, we need him
honestly im surprised cuz tkbreezy used to be super hype and hes even 2300 elo in brawlhalla. But as of recently it seems like he doesn't care anymore. He even has a RUclips channel were he uploaded brawlhalla.
edit: it seems many dont know about Tkbreezys brawlhalla RUclips i sadly cant find it anymore but i do remember it he was 2300 on jaeyun
edit: Nvm that was flambo im sry guys
This is an amazing video and you covered pretty much everything about the casting situation
Good video, commenting for the algorithm
Foda and Steven are the best casters imo
Last part about Dara spoke out my soul
as someone from the smash community i heavily agree with everything accept the dara part i love them
I do agree with pretty much everything in this video, I rlly did wish people liked dara more just cause I believe she's the only caster from smash to genuinely love the game as she actually talks about it at least on twitter and seems to have more interest in it than smash.
She's trash, ngl.
I even started CS,CS:GO and CS2 i would have started that game by now if not for the fact my pc can't run it
Imagine if Brawlhalla had old pros casting
I think Cosolix or Eggsoup would be good casters. They’ve proven they’re good at speaking through RUclips and have deep knowledge of the game
after watching this video, my biggest gripe with the casters are still Daramgar, i just cant stand that commentary and no matter how hard i try to understand how someone with that condition seeks a job about talking and gets it, i cant understand why or how. Just absolutely destroyes the watching experience. Its like going to watch a Race car championship with the best and loudest cars in the world, and they are all just completely silent.
foda and taza need to cast every tournamen
That Eminem line was 🔥💯
Can we also stop acting like we don’t know what dara is saying she is not speaking another language or an alien she literally just can’t pronounce her R’s that well you can literally understand.
agree with most of the vid except just in case u didnt know, tk has been a caster for brawl since pretty much the beginning of bh esports... so i wouldn't really consider him "imported" and he def knows (or should know?) a decent amount about the game. i think the most glaring part about him is that his casting partner affects his own performance a lot (imo flambo and tk are def up there for casting duos alongside duc/sparky and foda/steven). he feels like a "go with the flow" caster which i would assume comes from his experience in casting multiple games, which sadly backfires when the other caster isn't saying much of value.
your problem with june (not knowing characters or attacks) is something i also saw with walt who defaults to calling every attack a "swing", which makes him sound unknowledgeable. while watching autumn champs i started doubting how many attacks he actually knows...
i've seen a few of the tweets from some known casters saying they'd respond to your vid soon and i'm genuinely hoping that they don't just deny all of it... because this is a real issue and bmg WILL listen if the people they trust bring it up (see: boomie's rants and sandstorm quitting because of the terrible state of the game a few years back)
and because everyone else in the comments is shouting out their fav casters, besides the ogs (duc, sparky, foda, taza, flambo, twk, toast), i want to say i really enjoyed steven's casting. i'm pretty sure he's said he's an animator at bmg so you'd never expect him to have so much knowledge about the game mechanics. he's amazing at articulating his thoughts of the current game state (what strategy each player is looking out for, what they may be feeling, etc), and was all around a high energy guy, which matched foda very well who he was paired with pretty much exclusively. i'm genuinely sad that most of his time casting was during the covid/online era because i really would've loved seeing him cast more on LAN. hoping one day they'll bring back foda and steven together as a surprise 🙏
Without the speech impediment Dara would be the best caster RN tbh her commentary is so detailed
Tava, duc, sparky, flambo, and ofc foda. The dream team
fody, slow motion, sparky, taza, some my fav casters. they know how to cast well overall and i agree w this vid 100%, this was a needed wakeup call. Casting has def become HORRIBLE. hopefully bmg sorts it out for us going into bcx/ 2025
l think i saw more people talking about the girl with the speech impediment than the matches during YT live streams
Exactly, that’s what some people in the comments aren’t understanding. Even if you yourself are unbothered by it, when you have more people talking about the caster being hard to listen to rather than the gameplay itself, it’s objectively a problem.
The first time that Dara casted she was wearing a k1nk chain... the one you can pull on and it becomes tighter 🤦♂️
