I made this yesterday evening for my small family. We used up all the eggs for deviled eggs not realizing that till after mixing half my ingredients into the pumpkin so I made it without the eggs and it actually turned out like a pumpkin custard dessert. Everyone loved it.
I made this for my grandsons birthday- he loves spice cake but not so much pumpkin- he ate 2 slices before I told him what it was and said he still liked it. Lol This recipe is definitely a keeper in my book!

I made two and only used spice cake so I don't know what the white cake tastes like. But we agreed the cake had just the right amount of spice to envoke fall/holidays. Make this cake the night before you need it. We tried a piece a few hours after it cooled. It was good but the next day it was better I put foil over the top of the pan and it softened a bit and the flavors seemed to mix better. Lastly yes, use whipped cream on top, it counters the spice. This is a pumpkin pie with star power. It's going in the make again file. Thanks for the great idea and happy holidays.

Dump cakes are the best! My mom has made something similar but I have never tried making a pumpkin one before, it looks amazing. I love anything pumpkin too so I love this time of year! My favorite pumpkin recipe has to be classic pumpkin pie!!🍁🍂
I made this last Thanksgiving and oh my what a hit. But this year when I make it I'm going to put the pecans before the cake because the pecans burnt but it was still delicious.
