I was wanting to send you a super thanks, but it doesn’t look like you have that enabled. This is by far the best setup video for this that I’ve seen. I just have a PS5 instead of a Xbox, and I also have an audio mixer as well, but based off of this video I think I can figure it out. Truly appreciate it man
I just daisy chained a DAC from my Mixamp via 3.5mm - L/R analog. Doubles the sound level of the Mixamp TR but you loose Party chat bc the Mic won't pass through the DAC to the Mixamp to feed back to Series X. No optical cable on the Series X made this super difficult. For that fix I just got a Bluetooth mic for 5$ off Amazon and downloaded Xbox app on my phone then clipped the BT Mix on my IEMs (I prefer buds I have Aria Moondrops over the Astro T40s) cable and done.
This is great! Just got my same setup like this and I’m stoked to get everything setup and be able to hear my alerts directly in my headset - I normally stuff earbuds in and put my headset over that….no bueno
Finally this is what I needed thank you for making this complicated mess simple and finally I will be able to record the game chat that's awesome thank you

I use to have this same setup with the older version of the mixamp. I bought the new one because my old one was making chat audio really static like. I had the exact same setup up, just changed the amp and the ground loop doesn't help with the humming now.
So I did everything you did except for have the thing to reduce the buzzing and I can’t get my Xbox party audio to get picked up in my recording from the Elgato still 😕 I think it may be due to me using a laptop to stream/record and I don’t have a “line in” port, just a normal headset port.
Any cables running to the controller? Or will this set up pick up the mic on the headset? Because if I were to just set it up just to play I would have to connect a cable from the AUX port to the controller to pick up the mic from the headset.
When using the Stream Port for your party's audio, it works while being IN an XBL party chat, right? Also, using the Stream Port on the Mixamp, that allows you to control both party audio audio AND game audio independently, right? Great Video!!
It does. You can control the balance of game and voice sound with the right knob. Just make sure the Xbox is set to output your sound to speakers and headphones. Glad you liked the video!!
@@redstogee6393 when I do this party chat is way to loud in headphones and I can’t control the game and audio settings anymore. Whenever I switch it to speakers and headset, it’s just way too loud for the party and quiet in game for the stream and in headset.
Hi I bought a isolator but it didn’t do much, turns out it was to do with some of the things I had plugged into my USB 3.0 external device causing noises, I’ve kinda fixed it now if I keep the mix amp wheels at a good level not full on each side. But now I get a static sound again when putting the mix amp USB to my Xbox ?
do you have a video of your elgato HD60s audio settings and also your xbox audio settings?? this is my exact set up and im new to streaming, think this is exactly what i need bc the chat link cable has been a nightmare thus far.
I know it’s been a year but I did everything you did and gamechat works but now I’m having an issue with game volume distorting when there’s an explosion or something like that but the meters in obs arnt in the red. Didn’t know if you’ve had any experience with this or might know what is causing it
Hi! I had this problem too and for the life of me I couldn't find a solution anywhere online but I FINALLY figured it out. So I don't use Elgato but that's not the cause of the problem here so it doesn't matter. I stream the video using Remote Play (Window Capture on OBS) and the audio through the Stream Port on my mixamp. I have the USB end connected to my Xbox Series S and the AUX to my PC. And then the Stream Port connected into a Line In (4 pole AUX) port on my PC (this is where you'd use the Elgato instead, only difference). Now that I've explained my setup, the solution to it is to download the Astro Command Center from the Microsoft Store to your PC and change some volume settings on there, which will save to your device's onboard memory. So you only have to do it once. Just plug your MixAmp into your PC via the USB and switch the MixAmp into PC mode to use it in the Command Center. Once you open that up, you're going to go see Equalizer Settings, Microphone and Stream Port. Now go to that Stream Port and adjust the Main Volume, Game Volume, Game Chat and Settings volume to about 80%. The trick here is to not have anything at 100%. That's what makes the distortion happen, making gunfire and explosions blow your ears out. If you're using an external mic on your PC, but still use your headset mic in game, turn the Microphone Volume in the Stream Port all the way to 0% so it won't pick it up. These settings only control the output from your Xbox. They DO NOT have an affect on how you hear things or the actual volume level of your microphone. Once you've adjusted the volume levels, click on Sync To Device and confirm. Now you can go back to using it as you did before on your Xbox. If having it at 80% doesn't fully do the trick you might have to mess around with it a few times to get the right volume level. And if you still have the option to adjust volume levels on your Xbox, inside the Guide after pressing the Home button, I suggest turning down the Headset Volume to about 80% as well. In game it's fine to have everything maxed out though. Hope it helped! I know all this would've helped me a week ago.
hey so only thing i need to figure out is how do I just take the Astro mic off of the Streamlabs? I hear two mics on my Streamlabs. I want only my Blue Nano mic to be heard for better quality. any help?
When I was still using the headphone mic I would just mute it with the inline switch. Or you could just mute that input source in Streamlabs. Hope this helps.

Hey mate. I’m getting an echo into my headset with the aux option going into my computer when I’m streaming. I have to the pc “speakers” really low and I won’t hear alerts otherwise I get a big echo? Do you know how to fix that. Thanks man
Speaking purely from a streaming perspective I assume in order to be able to hear your sound alerts on Twitch when someone follows, subscribes or donates to your channel etc you setup the Mixamp Pro to be the default device as well as the default communication device within your Windows sound settings on your PC?
On default the Alert Box only plays the audio on your stream. On Alert Box properties, just tick the box that allows you to Control audio via Streamlabs Desktop (or OBS). And then turn on monitoring for that audio output, (Monitor and Output) Monitor is for you to hear it and Output means it still gets you know.. played on your stream as well.

Hi, great video. But I have a question. The audio you are getting out the Xbox via the optical cable, aren't you also getting the same audio from the USB to the Xbox?
Can the aux cable from the pc to mixamp be a 3 pole or does it require a 4 pole? the mpow is only a 3 pole. I think my 3 pole aux cables are causing the huge echo my game chat hears.

@@xocolt4589 what I found is. Open OBS Studio and open the properties to the Video Capture, once the properties are open then configure video. The Elgato Video Capture software should open. In that window ensure that "with analog audio" is checked.
This is a great video! I was wondering if you knew the proper setup for hooking up the Xbox Series S as it does not have an optical audio port on the back of it's console.

It's a bitch bro go look up king james video he explains it in more detail. There is no other way unfortunately
With the Elgato if you just want to play and don't want to record does it work as a HDMI link without having to power it/connect to a PC? Can you just connect the 2 HDMI ends and it work or do you need the USB?
Pretty sure it gets its power from the USB connection to your PC. I haven't tried that setup though. The purpose for this it to record/stream video and audio though.
Is there a way for me to use the Astro A40 TR with Mixamp for my Xbox microphone (party chat) AND my PC microphone for streaming (OBS) at the same time?
That would cause your viewers to hear your voice as an echo since your voice would be coming from two different sources. If your teammates are using PC's a better option would be for you to use Discord. That way there is one voice input and there would be no echo.

When I select the hdmi sound on the elgato settings it is a extremely loud constant buzz, only way to get rid of it was to choose analogue sound. Any advice?
Hey, I was using this way to stream my party chat/my voice on my Xbox one X and everything was working fine but I just bought a Series X and since I switched there's a huge echo in game audio. Do you have an idea why? I'm seriously at a lost
When you put the aux cable from stream port and into in port of elgato HD60s do you lose the capability of your right knob chat mixer? As in can’t prioritize game audio or voice chat audio. That is my current issue with my set up. I can record my game play with game audio on the game capture hub but no voice chat. But when I use an aux cord connected to stream and in port of elgato the chat mixer knob is not working.
If you're playing on a new gen xbox, just plug the usb into your xbox. Your xbox will automatically detext that a headset was assigned and your mic will work too. No optical cable needed.

I know all this would've helped me a week ago.

hi!!! How can I do it if I have the 4k60 fps capture??? I play in Xbox series s
The new xbox doesn't have an optical plug in will it matter?
This is the best video helped me a ton, however everything worked great yesterday hooking stream port to the Elgato, now today nothing different and I’m getting a wicked buzz that’s louder than everyone talking, I’m using the elgato chat link cable. Just wondered if you had any tips. Thanks for the great video
Ron Stred You need a ground loop isolator. There is an Amazon link for it in the description. It is caused from two different power sources.
RedStogee Gaming so I’ll need to one for the stream alerts and one for the chat link correct? I just looked and noticed the ends of the chat link cable 1 end has 3 black rings and the other has only 2 black rings. I’ll just order double of everything and hope it works lol thanks for the info and great video again
You connect it inline on the AUX cable from the PC.
RedStogee Gaming yes I got that part, I’m not running one to the PC currently just from my tr mix amp to the elgato,
Sounds like it could be a cable thing. Definitely go with the 3 ring option on the cables. Drop me a link for your stream with you get it up.
Can confirm this works! Thanks man.
Glad it helped!
Great clear and informative vide subbed
Glad you liked the video.
Thank you very much man I just started streaming Sunday and I cant get my setup to capture my friends audio now your video made me realize I have cables connected wrong so ima set it up tonight...thanks alot man very helpful would be nice if u linked that humming device from amazon u said that we also need as well
Thanks!! I added the Amazon link for the ground loop isolator that removes the humming. Here is the link anyway...
Good luck with the streaming!! Let me know where you stream and I will check it out.

@@redstogee6393 hey bro i appreciate your video and i will buy that as well im working on all this as i type this keep up the good work
Do you need the A40 model or would a standard a10 work with the mix amp and elgat hd60s?
Great video very thorough!!
Glad it was helpful!
do you have to do anything in obs? I'm still not able to hear game chat
How would I hook up a blue yeti mic with all this? Im on xbox series x and streaming from a legion laptop. I have the elgato capture card and a40s with mix amp. I wanna talk through my yeti mic and having issues getting it to work. I'm new to streaming and feel lost! Any help? Great video btw
My question is how does the stream port to elgato pick up the game chat?
Curious.. so this will stop my Mac internal mic from recording audio? I have the issue of my audio chat sounding echoy..
Not sure about the settings on a Mac. Sorry.
Great video, set everything up according to this tutorial. Yet my stream cannot hear my teammates how would I allow that to happen? Most of my teammates are cross play.
Same issue
@@xocolt4589 what I found is. Open OBS Studio and open the properties to the Video Capture, once the properties are open then configure video. The Elgato Video Capture software should open. In that window ensure that "with analog audio" is checked.
On my XBOX I also went into the astro mix amp control center and muted my mic on the STREAMPORT
If I recall, if you are on console there is an option to turn on party chat. It would come across as a part of the game audio in OBS.
But what about when your using an elgato chat link cable. Using a40 with mix amp pro so I even need the chat link cable?
The chat link feeds back from your audio out on your PC for notifications if you are streaming. It isn't needed otherwise.
I know I'm responding 2 years later. but I cannot get my xbox to assign the headset to the profile therefore it wont work. Any help on this?
This is a great video! I was wondering if you knew the proper setup for hooking up the Xbox Series S as it does not have an optical audio port on the back of it's console.
All I want is to record mine and my friends voices. With the occasional death coms on cod. Why is it so hard ? I have the s/x this same headset w/Amp and el gato hd60s+
@@Bigtasty28 same here and I get nothing
@@TheCannibus420 figured it out. You need your headset no amp. And then you need another mic that records your voice. You need and elgato chatlink that records your friends voice and the game. It's a bitch bro go look up king james video he explains it in more detail. There is no other way unfortunately
My issue is being able to hear my twitch alerts in my headset. Does the video have a solution for that?
With the Elgato if you just want to play and don't want to record does it work as a HDMI link without having to power it/connect to a PC? Can you just connect the 2 HDMI ends and it work or do you need the USB?
Pretty sure it gets its power from the USB connection to your PC. I haven't tried that setup though. The purpose for this it to record/stream video and audio though.
Can this method be used to connect the mix amp to a Focusrite.
can you do the same thing with a razer ripsaw hd?
with this set up can you use your headset mic to speak to chat??
i did this and i still dont have game chat on stream am i missing something with the settings?
You have to unplug your Xbox power cable while it’s on for ten seconds and plug it back up no extra aux needed
What Xbox audio settings do you use with this set up?
My friend you just earned a new sub! Great video! Only question is would you be able to use the mpow on a laptop?
Glad the video helped. I don’t see why it would not work.
@@redstogee6393 cool much appreciated!
When you connect the stream aux, will it send your headset mic audio when you talk to your chat to your obs?
The aux port is used for the PC to send sounds to your headset through the mixamp for OBS notifications.
But i only get the game audio and not the chat , what setting do i have to change on the xbox ?
Great video man!
Appreciate it!
Omg thank you ive been looking for literally hours
I am so glad it helped!!
@@redstogee6393 it was a headset but I got it now. I actually upgraded to the series X and noticed the mic is lower now and people cant understands me. If you have a fix to this please upload
Could you show how you have your audio settings set in astro command center?
I will get a screenshot and reply later this evening. Thanks for watching!
Sorry it took me a little longer to get the ss. My settings in AC are pretty stock.
The ss are located at this Google Docs URL:

When I select the hdmi sound on the elgato settings it is a extremely loud constant buzz, only way to get rid of it was to choose analogue sound. Any advice?
I put a link in the description to use a 3 pole audio adaptor. This is was grounds the connection to keep this from happening.
Does this also work for the Xbox series X/S ?
Hey, I was using this way to stream my party chat/my voice on my Xbox one X and everything was working fine but I just bought a Series X and since I switched there's a huge echo in game audio. Do you have an idea why? I'm seriously at a lost
Unfortunately I do not know. From what I am hearing the interface is a little different on the X than the 1X.
If you are on console and sending it to a PC to stream you should be able to control it in your overlay program. Are you using OBS by chance?
RedStogee Gaming I actually was able to fix it. I had to change audio setting in the game itself changed it from stereo to headset.
Muchas gracias por la información
As of today, so I need to use the optical cable or can I skip that?
If you're playing on a new gen xbox, just plug the usb into your xbox.
Your xbox will automatically detext that a headset was assigned and your mic will work too.
No optical cable needed.
