The A7 iii is the Swiss army knife of cameras at this price range. Sony just killed it's competition.

I’ve had mine a few weeks and am very happy with the overall package and experience (I’m a hobbyist who shoots a mix of stills and video of family and friends and came from the A7Rii).
Video is much better and no screen dimming or crop is excellent. Full frame is a major improvement. Although the record button is positioned better, I do wish it was more tactile as it can be pressed without invoking Record mode.
As for the monitor and EVF I find them fine to use. Sure, extra resolution is nice to have but it doesn’t change my framing choice, the settings I use or the final RAW file so no qualms here. And it may just add a few more shots from the battery.
Overall it’s hard to look past for the price. Waiting on the 28-75 2.8 Tamron in 4 weeks to see how that works as a walk around lens - are you in line for that too? Thanks for the content.

Perhaps a little late asking this but your comparison videos are easily the best on RUclips so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Could you do a video comparing the A7iii with the rx10iv. I'm torn between the 2. I would love the A7iii but with that's is tons more money in lenses when the rx10iv is pretty amazing camera all in one. Thank you.

Hi There! on the spects on the A6 Series* (that record video on 4K*) they also do a downsample from 6k to 4k. Heck I'm still reluctant to sell my A77M2 to get a mirrorless again : (. well. see you around!

That empty slot is where the battery charger comes, mine came with one.

Thanks for your work. I also had been in the back ordered line at B&H for awhile waiting this camera and thankfully it arrived a few days ago. However, upon booting the camera and starting to set up the menus I thought I would would look at the shutter count. Surprisingly it the count indicated that there were 2500 raw files taken and 90 minutes of video. Pretty shocking. Called B&H and while they seemed surprised offer to give me 50.00 off. No thanks will be sending it back.

Were you upset because of the 2500 shots (which are still extremely low considering the shutter durability of the camera is rated in the 200’000s, or simply because you bought a new camera and it turned out to have been used?
Hello I finally unbox my camera that I paid overpriced from abesofmaine, when I opened the box camera already not cover with the bag like your , I dont find the batteries like you have it too from inside the box they give me on the side the brand is ultimaxx , my question when we buy the body only did we should get original batteries from Sony? Beside i buy also the lense Sony 28-70 mm. Thx u for answering my question

I think the Panasonic G9 makes a lot more sense because of quite a few advantages that it has over the A7iii
- Faster burst rates
- Dual IS which works better
- Better EVF
- Dual UHS II slots
- Fully Articulating LCD
- Better weather sealing
- It has a proper charger in the box and can also be charged on the go
- Flash Sync
- 80MP high res mode, etc.
- Costs only $1700 for the body right now
You are clearly biased towards full frame but the way Panasonic does MFT, the image quality is excellent making G9 a clear winner for almost every type of user
Wasn't really a first look. Too much comparing to other cameras which detract heavily from this one. Ended up being a boring video
