- A special rendition of ''Les Misérables''' hit number "Bring Him Home" has been recorded to celebrate the NHS.
Alfie Boe, Ramin Karimloo, John Owen-Jones, David Shannon, Alistair Brammer, Fra Fee and Rob Houchen, who are all former cast members of ''Les Misérables'', appear on the track, alongside hit foursome The Barricade Boys.
The video is introduced by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on the set of ''This Morning'', with Schofield saying: "Our NHS have always been our guardian angels, selflessly taking care of us when we need them. What they are expected to do now requires superhuman talent, strength, care and total commitment. Yet there they are, on the frontline for us, battling with everything they have to try to save us.
"That’s why I’m behind this and any other project that collectively forms a nationwide, deafening chorus of 'Thank you, you are incredible, we appreciate every single one of you and we will do anything we can to help you through these unprecedented times'."
Scott Garnham, founder of The Barricade Boys says: "Music has this incredible power to make people stop and listen. "Bring Him Home" will resonate with so many people - it’s a trying and scary time for everyone but we still have a lot to be grateful for, in particular, our incredible NHS. This is just a very small way of saying thank you."
John-Owen Jones: "Bring him joy... he's only a boy"
I felt that.
This must be what heaven sounds like.
Barbara Lafferty I got chills when I read this
It's gotta be
Yeeeesssss
Actually
You are so right: I hope!
No charging of a few hundred bucks a ticket. No lights, sets, costumes, not even a stage. Just a group of Valjeans, in everyday dress, reaching out from their own homes to bring a story of hope in tough times to the people going through such times, themselves included. Victor Hugo would be very proud.
Top comment. Victor Hugo ethics are alive and well. May this terrible global cataclysm remind us of their enduring truth. We humans are more ‘we’ than ‘I’.
Need Colm though 🤗
@@hannyhawkins7804 Thanks, and hear hear.
@@JakeToolson Agreed. I was genuinely surprised to not see him there: "Okay, this was lovely, but where's Colm? This is his signature song."
Alicia Nyblade Perhaps he declined in order to avoid making this about him
Alfie Boe: "God on high..."
Me: * reduced to tears *
Thank you. Such an apt song for the current situation. So beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Aida A Cahyaningwidi Same, girl. Same. ♥️
Me too
Crying like a baby 😭😭😭
Same here
I don't have taps for tear ducts - I've got open drainpipes it seems 😭😭🤣
I saw ramin and thought what a voice. But then came John Owen-Jones and his voice blew me away 😬 no wonder they were the Phantom 😍
Both men are incredible
When John started the tears started!
Exquisite
The first time I saw Phanton in London John Owen-Jones was Phantom and Ramin was Raoul. Talk about luck! :)
@@camillahempel-jrgensen8871 OH MY GOSH I would love to see Ramin live SO MUCH. I appreciate John Owen-Jones too but Ramin just has a special place in my heart!
Every one of these performers: angelic, understated, quiet, reflecting.
Hugh Jackman: screaming at the highest vocal register and waking the entire barricade.
Alfie, John, Ramin! My favourites all in one video!
Alfie Boe's voice is like hearing an angel sing
It would have been my grandad's 92nd birthday today. This was the last song I ever sang to him. Thank you for releasing this today, I still cried, but I needed this today xx
So sorry for your loss, stay strong and safe every one 🙏💪💖
You were able to sing this to your grandad? Bless you!
sorry for your loss.
It's a beautiful song for you two.
stay safe and we are not alone.
Sorry for your loss. It's painful, I know, and hopefully through this song, it can help heal your heart.
karend169 : This has been my experience, too. I know your heartaches. Sing in his memory, I believe your beloved grandad will hear you. Bless you, dear.
No matter how many times I’ve seen the stage presentation or the movie, when this song is sung, I cry like a baby. These vocalists were fantastic! Thank you for sharing your magnificent voices with us.
Same. My tears were so hot that they steamed up my glasses within 5 seconds of Alfie starting to sing.
Chellie Beaudot I’m Ugly crying 😭!
Alfie Boe, Ramin Karimloo, and John Owen Jones are 3 of my top 6 favorite Valjeans😆 (The other three being Nick Cartell, Patrick Dunn, and of course, Colm Wilkinson).
My favourite Valjeans are Alfie Boe and John Owen Jones
Yup..Colm Wilkinson 👍
Zachary Walker Owen Jones was outstanding. Such depth of voice
JOJ is so underrated. Love him. Love this. All of them were awesome
back in time 1000%. I’m such a JOJ fangirl now after I saw him in London.
He's is my first valjean... And though the others are brilliant... No one sings bring him home, with so much passion and pleading in his face, like he does. Goosebumps everybloody time
He's not really underrated, though? He's among most fans' favorite Phantoms and Valjeans.
But yes, he's incredible. ❤
I'm only just starting to see how awesome JOJ really is!
I'm a big Ramin's fan but there's something so indescribable on JOJ's voice, he sings to my part of the soul I didn't know I have.
To me, this is a close second to seeing all the ValJean’s performing at the 25th anniversary, but goodness those harmonies make it a close fight 😍😍
Absolutely!
oh yes!
The 25th anniversary performance, when Alfie Boe goes really high as he joins the rest of the Valjeans is nothing short of magical.
@@ginat.8064 I will never forget it. That was my first time watching Les Mis 😭
Joshua Watters Alfie will forever be my favorite JVJ! 😍😭🎭🎶
John Owen-Jones! Saw him play Phantom in London many years ago; love his voice. Makes me tear up no matter what he sings. Beautiful song.
John Owen Jones! ❤
Great singer Tegid!
yes!
Oh no.. why did I watch this 😭 I wasn't ready.. this is just so beautiful. I'm an ER doctor and I thank you all for this 🙏🙏😭♥️
No, THANK YOU! What you and your colleagues are doing for us is heroic. Please know that you are in all our thoughts and prayers.
Never more relevant to me, my brave dad is in hospital suffering with Covid-19 and has pneumonia. Absolutely beautiful, cried like a baby but such incredible voices. I've seen the musical twice and hope to come again when you're open again. Love to you all and all your families, keep these coming to keep us home! Shelley x
Shelley Tsur sending all the love - if you need anything let me know 💖
God bless you and your dad. I don't mean to offend if you're not religious but i said a prayer for your dad ❤️🙏 xx
Best of luck to your Father, Shelley, we're going to get through this x
Prayers to your dad and you and all your family.
😔😢💖🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Is this being released as a single to raise money for the NHS? Because it should be!
I suspect not. It appears to be virtue signalling. These "Barricade Boys" are using this as a significant self-promoting opportunity too. It's a shame.
Given that they organised it, why not? Like many organisations and companies and artists they are keeping themselves in the public eye but at same time entertaining and moving. Shame you are so cynical.
@@cpmatthews This is what they do for a living. This is their way of giving back. Music is where their talents lie. I highly doubt anyone is self-promoting.
Please ,please , release for our Heroes ❤
@@cpmatthews How are they doing that exactly? By sharing their talents and getting their friends to help out? LOTS of different artists and musicians are coming online doing lots of great things and arent here to self promote anything. Get off your high horse. We are all in a time of great need and the arts are helping us get through it
All amazing, but my gosh Ramin's voice is sent from the angels!
So beautiful
Agree. I see him and I hear his angelic voice singing Wandering Child from Phantom.
This should really be released as a single - wow goosebumps
Modbury Mission Community Yes, I was just thinking the same thing ... and maybe all the proceeds could go to the NHS for purchasing more PPEs for healthcare workers?
Beautiful!!!!
With that audio?!?!
Paramedic in the US- thank you for sharing- been a horrible 12 months. Godspeed to all in NHS and beyond. Peace be with each of You.
I met John Owen-Jones at Les Miz vs Phantom rugby match many years ago and he was the kindest man ever! After a few years, when I knew he was Valjean on Broadway, I got to see him in the dream role. Magical night on broadway 😍
😭 this is why Les Mis is better than anything Else. Wow
Allie Pena My absolute favourite of all time. I started crying on the first note they sang. I don’t think it will ever be replaced.
agree
Allie Pena I’ve seen it several times, and even when I just listen to the soundtrack, I sob
Imagine living next door to Alfie Boe and hearing him sing this!
Alice and John at 2:51 are not just singing they are performing. Wow. Alfie’s rendition is my favorite out of everyone. He doesn’t over sing. It’s smooth and subtle and you just hear his amazing technique as in this.
WOW...when John Owen Jones came in, I sat up straighter.
I see Ramin and I click. OMG this was amazing! Now I’m curious as to how many of them have also played Phantom as I know Ramin and John have. I’ve noticed that actors will play Valjean and Phantom.
Most of them
I thought I saw Ramin in the thumbnail so I clicked hella fast
David Shannon was Phantom, with Gina Beck as Christine. He was also in Come From Away, for the first year, in London. Don’t know about the younger men, sorry.
Did Alfie Boe ever play Phantom?
But some are Marius. Not all are Valjeans in this videos
Incredible talent and lovely message BUT I can’t help but feel it’s missing the heart of the Les Mis Alumni, Colm Wilkinson. 💚
I totally agree Dawn.
Last time I heard him sing was as the bishop in the 2012 movie. It's possible that this song might be too much for him these days. Still, it would have been nice.
Same!
Colm...my very favourite JVJ...and saw him the perform the role beautifully many times...he was magical! However these gentleman are also incredibly talented...saw Alfie last year in London...fabulous! The most beautiful song to me!
Probably they only chose West End stars
ramin is so beautiful i want to cry
As he's singing bring him home, you are singing "Take Him Home"!
I cried my eyes out listening to John Owen Jones
Absolutely wonderful. Amazing voices. John Owen-Jones has a beautiful voice. Sat crying, so emotional these days but who wouldn't cry after hearing these angels. Love to hear Colm Wilkinson sing this too
I love Alfie's backyard view. This collaboration is goose-bump marvelous.
Just lost my brother in law tonight from CoronaVirus. I’m crying.
You have my condolences
I am sooo sorry. Deepest condolences. You poor family.😰
My condolences to you during this difficult time.
My thoughts and prayers are with you
So sorry for your loss. Sending prayers and hugs to you and your family. May you find solace and peace in this song and in your memories of your brother in law.
Nick Cartell’s performance of this in Seattle about 6 years ago is the single most moving musical experience I ever expect to have. His performance was so good, you could feel the audience growing more silent, with absolute awe as it went on. Upon its conclusion, before the applause eruption - which took a second because no one wanted to make any sound that might step on that magical voice - you could hear murmurs of ‘wow’ ‘oh my god’….and as I scanned the crowd, not a dry eye in sight, including my own, as I was a shuddering weepy ball of melancholy. Goosebumps sharp enough to hurt somebody. What a gift to hear that…
This song was played at my Dads funeral 13 years ago. Love you Dad ❤️
On a similar note, I couldn’t stop thinking of the 13year old that Britain lost yesterday to this hell of a virus. My sister has the virus. To everybody, take care, stay safe, support our NHS . Please think of others. ❤️🥰🇬🇧
anytime John Owen Jones sings i automatically cry just a little
I thought that was so moving. I would pay for that if it goes towards the NHS
Oh WOW...goosebumps time. They are all singing beautifully but has anyone noticed that JOJ is the only one who is actually "being" Valjean?
Yes I thought the same. He is gorgeous and with an excellent voice.
I already watched Alfie and Ramin live in Tokyo. They were really gorgeous.
This march JOJ was supposed to come but cancelled because of corona.
Rescheduled this August. Can't wait !
I saw Ramin on Broadway and John Owen Jones in London. I thought I had tickets to see Alfie Boe in London but honestly John Owen Jones is now my favorite- aside from Colm Wilkinson, of course.
This has torn my heart to shreds. Love these guys, especially Ramin Karimloo.
First three words on a normal day and Im toast but in this climate, on this day when I found out another friend is on a respirator fighting this, I am a puddle. Thank you guys
Gloriously Imperfect 💗🙏🏻
Hope your friend gets better x
John Owen Jones is the best Jean Valjean in my opinion. Absolutely breathtaking. His version of bring him home always makes me cry ❤️
Especially when he sings the Die parts.
3:05 this moment with John and Ramin. 😩 Perfection!
The voices are spectacular but it is the emotion of each performer that made me weep.❤
Im simple I see Ramin Karimloo and John Owen Jones. I clicked 🥰
This was the song we played at my grandads funeral, my god what a version! Please release
Wow wow wow !!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Me and my Nan love this song so much that when she passed this was played 2nd to last at her funeral I never got the chance to sing it to her hard times
as soon i saw alfie boe and rob houchen i was weeping
Wow, what a moving song. I am litterly in tears as today marks the first week since my moms funeral and 2 weeks on Tuesday, of her death from leukemia. It is hard now going thro all her things trying to find the right papers. And, with this lockdown, the person u want to speak to isn't at work, very frustrating ❤️❤️
I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom a year ago, and the waves of grief still wash over me at unexpected times. The paperwork and settling the estate, etc. can be daunting, but you WILL get through it. Just take it one day at a time, and know that some days will be better/easier than others, and that's perfectly normal. The most important thing right now is to give yourself permission to grieve in all the ways you need to, and to practice extreme self-care for yourself. Be gentle with yourself and others, and don't forget to ask for help as you need it. Sending you much love and hugs, and prayers for you and your family as you navigate through this difficult time.
@@deborahbustin9861 thank u so much for the message. It a real msg of hooe and something I csn hang onto. As u say..... I go inti ny mom's room ti empty her cupboard take a few things out then stop. It like I csnt just get rid of the things yet. And I know there ppl out there needing the winter clothes as we headed into a very cold wet winter, by the looks of things. I know I had to let my mon go but in time I will be able to sort thri her things. Tomoro I have to close her bank accounts......so hard ❤️😊thank u once again and I also will think of u as u come to terms with your moms anniversary, it always hard to think of♥️
Wonderful demonstration of how Zoom can facilitate duets, quartets, harmonies, collective emotion without the performers having to be in the same physical venue. Very moving, and a technological miracle. Beautiful.
From Jamaica with love, bravissimo! astounding! awesome! extraordinary! remarkable! glorious! an outstanding performance. More! More! More! This is therapeutically healing, this will soothe some souls. More... More.... Encore.... Please bless our ears with one more performance
Extraordinary !!!
Thank you so much. Alfie: sitting down too. Crikey
Alfie Boe is a Angel on high - LOVES his voice & John-Owen Jones, is amazing
I was not expecting Fra Fee to be in this, holy shit!
Tbh I only found out about this through Fra Fee’d insta
What's a Fra Fee?
@@shawnpavlik1293 same
@@shawnpavlik1293 He played Courfeyrac in the Les Mis 2012 movie
Didn't notice that when I watched the movie, but he's got a nice voice.
As someone who had a severe Covid illness and was intubated for six weeks I was not aware of all this activity ..it moves me to tears...
Magnificent. When this is all over, I want to go see Les Miserables on stage again. And I want ALL of these wonderful people there! ❤️
Beautiful ❤❤❤
Ive died and gone to heaven. That was simply amazing, thank you all xx
Very beautiful
I’m working as a nurse in Japan. This makes me feel much better at the end of the day. I really want to thank you all, and wish you all be safe at home .
John Owen Jones, I don’t know you but you are sooooo goood!!! Great job guys!
He's always been my favourite Valjean. I've seen Les Mis many times with him in the lead. Just gorgeous.
I have no words...
This is so heavy to the heart but so beautiful.
Well. That's me finished. Superb.
This is gorgeous. The cabin fever in me wishes they'd altered the lyrics to "Stay at home", but I'm cool with this.
I watch this over and over again 😊 🎶 👍🏻
Well, wasn't planning on a good cry out at 7:30 with my coffee, but thank you for this. Bravo! Well done! 💕👏🏻
God Bless and keep safe and well all caregivers. 🙏 God Bless everyone affected by and fighting COVID-19. ❤️
Remembering my beloved son Chris Packala (1966-1993).
Fra Fee and Alistair Brammer, my favorites!!💗
Wonderful 💕💕💕💕
Goosebumps, just beautiful. Saw les mis in London at end of feb. Prob one of the last shows till lockdown. This song made me cry and my 10 yr old son just squeezed my hand. It’s a beautiful song. Thank. You for reminding me only 4weeks ago everything was normal. Won’t be long and it can be normal again #stayathome
Just wondering who was playing Valjean when it closed? Best friend saw it and said it was phenomenal but couldn't remember the name of who played Valjean.
yjrb1324 as far as i know it was Jon Robyns who played him, and he was amazing. I saw it 10 yrs ago when Alfie boe was playing him and I didn’t think anyone would top that. To be fair though Jon Robyns came extremely close!! 😀
This is beautiful and full of soul! Do yourselves all a favor and listen to it with your eyes closed so you can't see the singers, only hear them. It will blow you away. I listened to this about 8 times, then decided tonight to listen again with my eyes shut. What a difference! It was beautiful before, but just listening without watching made it heavenly. No distraction from watching faces or background. Amazing harmony as they sang parts together, and poignant, sweet purity of sound as they sang their individual parts.
Thank you all for this wonderful gift to us.
That was beautiful. Thank you all so much for sharing your talent. To all who are sick, afflicted or far from home, I pray God will lay His healing hands upon you and bring you home safely.
God Bless All These Talented People!
I imagine this is what heaven sounds like........
Wow. I mean .... so many amazing tenors!!!!
I'll be attending my mother's burial tomorrow (not from COVID) and I can't sleep. This is so beautiful.
snemelka And my mother, who died a few weeks ago, was supposed to be honored at a memorial Mass and luncheon today, but it all had to be cancelled due to the current restrictions on gatherings. I could not sleep last night, either. My condolences to you.
Sorry for your loss... Its a reminder that though this virus is affecting, and killing, the other things are still ongoing sorry for your Loss
The only thing missing from this masterpiece was the master
COLM WILKINSON
Just discovered the video now and thought the same thing.
This is... Just the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. 😭
Love Ramin and his voice! He's great in Holby City playing Kian!
I missed hearing the wonderful Dean Chisnall on this but they were all stunning singers and i am in tears due to their amazing performances xxx
Never forget.
With the tragedy in Ukraine and the many men and women, children and seniors at catastrophic risk due to the Russian invasion, I find this collective piece of musical brilliance more essential and more moving that at any other time in our generation's time. Support the Ukrainian right to their homeland. Share this message across borders if you can.
So lovely....lifted my spirits...78 year old with the virus.
get well please!
oh my goodness, I want the full video of Alfie Boe singing this. For that matter, share all the full, unedited individual videos!
You can find Alfie singing it on youtube pretty easily.
My favorite version of Alfie's is in the Les Miserables 25th Anniversary concert (on RUclips).
One of the most beautiful and divine prayers.
Thanks.
ALL of the feels... goosebumps on my goosebumps. Absolutely breathtaking and so so beautiful. Well done guys!

Sadly Michael Burgess very recently passed away so in tribute and along with Colm, please you tube

Then please RUclips

Truly powerful...!!!
Ramin, John Owen and Alfie!!!! Where is Colm? Beautiful!!!!
Ohmygoodness. Deep breath here. I wisely removed my glasses at the start of this video because I know this song to be beautiful and am quite the emotional being lately. Indeed I got to the center or bit past, the beauty became so exquisite I overflowed into sobs. Gorgeous. Thank you SO MUCH! /applause
