Absolutely no need to apologise for the swastika; it's historical. I yet have to hear about any Americans upset by the rising sun symbol, or Germans whose relatives died in the Dresden firebombing upset by the stars and bars. We build models of aircraft that were used in wars, to omit any symbols would make the models historically inaccurate.
thanks for the comment! I thought I would rather be on the safe side and mention it just in case, however, I think everyone who watches the videos understand that it is just used for historical accuracy’s and doesn’t connote anything other than that!! thanks again :)
FYI, It’s the “Stars and Stripes”, the First Confederate States of America flag during the American Civil War was called the “Stars and Bars”, but thanks for letting us know!
Thank you for not being a coward and for including the swastika on the tail. No historical model like this is complete without it and screw anyone who says differently
You are correct about the armored glass in the cockpit windscreen. I believe this started with the later ME 109S and translated to the FW190. the USAAF had bullet protection glass, I believe the RAF did also. Hope this helps.
Tip with the masking fluid on canopies, use tape just to mask the borders and fill the rest with the masking fluid! Doesn’t really require you to feel the edges that way :)
I can't get enough of a 262. I just love the way they look the shape is so shark like n one of my top planes of all timeand you've done them justice my friend. I've recently heard that if you use VERY HOT water to soften tamiya decals then they go down a lot better but I'm not sure if it's true or a tamiya a myth.
thank you! I thought I would rather be on the safe side and mention it just incase… but I think everyone who watches the channel knows it’s just for historical accuracy and doesn’t actually connote anything! thanks again :)
Don't apologise, good build, but I take your point about the canopy. Still doesn't look perfect, but you did a good job of getting it back from where it was.
Dude, I build German planes as well and I NEVER apologise for the markings. They are historical representations of the actual birds that flew. Please do NOT give in to the woke idiot cancel culture. Don't let them dictate what YOU or I build. This model has inspired me to build yet another 262. So thank you sir for that inspiration!! Agin don't ever apologise for what you do!!! Keep up the GREAT work!!
Thank you so much dude! It’s always a fine line that I walk on in regards to those sort of topics so i’ll have to rethink next time I do it, Thanks again😁
Thank you! So the trick for ammo is to shake them like a madman! But once in the airbrush I usually add another 20% of thinner to it to really help it to flow😁
Nice painting! Although wouldn’t the shell ejection at the bottom of the plane have ammunition marks? Like small little black spots showing shooting and small wear and tear?
thank you!! ooo that’s a very good point i might have missed that, i’ll maybe try and art that with some pastels i have around, thanks for point it out :)

This came out very nice, makes me want to get the kit now. You should have a look at the Amusing Hobbies ME262 HGIII in 1/48 to go along with it. It's a concept of what the 262 could've been.
thank you very much! so for general weathering I mainly focussed on streaks and also some small tonal variations using the white… so, no I didn’t use a panel wash however now that you say that maybe it would’ve looked a little better with one!! thanks for the comment :)
I wish I had the skill to paint it, but I really suck at it, besides where I live no one does that kind of stuff. I'd like to build one someday, but just having it all gray, discourages me from doing it. Great video anyway.
The additional glass is armoured forward windscreen mate. I always agonise over the swastikas. Historical accuracy dictates it should go on. But being a Holocaust educator, i end up vascilating between using it or not
thanks for the comment! I hope in this day and age everyone could appreciate that in this use it’s just for historical accuracy but I thought I would be on the safe side just in case :)
10:00 - I'm sorry, but this is the worst shit I've ever seen - align areas with the scalpel in your way! You can automatically putty it then and sand like crazy...
Thanks for the comment! No need for the language though, definitely an interesting technique I’ll be the first to admit but was all part of the learning process for me! Don’t think I would do that on my current models😁🤙🏻

@@bobsmodels123 Is Stars and Bars not also a slang reference to later US roundels ?
@@shootmcrunfast Yeah the USAF roundel
Being offended is a choice.
Tamiya kits are second to none. Been building those since the early 70s. Great job.
Thank you very much! I absolutely love a tamiya kit, always allows you to focus more on the paint and the finish rather than filling etc!

Thank you for the comment buddy! In complete agreement👌🏻
Great build and a good tip about making the tape less tacky in order to stop paint peel 😀
thank you!! glad the tip might help you avoid any headaches :)

Luke! Not only is the build fantastic, you also made me feel better about my bad masked canopy!
haha thank you dude!! hopefully we can both learn from this video🤣

Thank you mate! I’m also a huge fan of how it looks… so agile and sleek looking! I’ll have to give that a go on my next kit as it’s Tamiya!
Can you please tell me where you got that sanding stick, thing, I spending a good 2 hours looking for what is called please help me.
I believe the one that I use currently is called the ammo mig multi sanding stick! Hope that helps🤙🏻
And I got it from hannants in London!
Thanks man❤

Looks great, the color scaling is really convincing
Thank you bud! Definitely a rather effective little technique sometimes😁
Don't apologise, good build, but I take your point about the canopy. Still doesn't look perfect, but you did a good job of getting it back from where it was.
thank you!! i definitely learnt a lot from this build about canopies🤣
If someone gets offended over a marking then they shouldn't be watching a video on a German aircraft
i do agree it’s a very slim chance someone would be offended… but I felt it was better not to risk it!

One question please the ammo product you use to cover the canopy you just apply it then let it dry
that blue gooey stuff would be “ammo’s masking fluid” however lord of manufactures make a very similar product :)
Excellent video. A question. What percentage of dilution do you use with Ammo paints? My airbrush always gets stuck 😭
Thank you! So the trick for ammo is to shake them like a madman! But once in the airbrush I usually add another 20% of thinner to it to really help it to flow😁

First time German camouflage.Bravo!
thank you very much!! i’m sure it’ll be my first of many :)
Nice final result 👍 Masking fluid has it`s use but not near the edges, also learned the hard way once. From then on masking tape only.
thank you! yes, i have definitely learnt from just using just masking fluid… next time it’ll just be used for larger areas!!

Great build, congratulations. Quick question, what do you use to thin those VMS clear coats?
thank you dude!!! the thing i love about the VMS varnish is they are pre thinned!!! no need to worry about thinners :)

i like that quote!! very good :)
@@machmodels I told my friends; Winston Churchill and George Santayana and they liked it too. I said they could use it. 👍
Is there a list of all the paints you used?
I believe for this kit I used colours in the ammo mig paint set for late luftwaffe planes! Hope that helps😁
Thank you for a great video 👍
thank you very much!! glad you enjoyed it :)
Quite impressive build. I’m fascinated by the Me 262 and your work gives it justice. Did you panel lining your kit with a wash or something else?

Pro tip: You can add the nose gear strut on the Tamiya and Hobby Boss Me 262s after assembly. There's enough space to do so. Nice build!
