Great tutorial, worked perfectly. For all those who can't get online I will explain. VPN makes your internet drop, so if you already have bad internet you wont be able to get on. The DNS is to boost your internet faster, but the DNS isnt strong enough at times. So to cut it short.... If you have shiternet forget about the VPN.

Hello Sir! I got pretty the same setup, but i use macbook pro on win 10 with usb/ethernet adaptor connected to ps4. The questions is - it work with proton vpn, download speed is ok(higher then 65mbps) but upload speed is not higher then 4 for some reason... if i use ps4 without vpn (as i do most of the time, because i use it only to play nba2k with vpn) my down speed is 95-100 and upload speed the same. I used to use the Kaspersky VPN for this on my Xbox one and it worked fine. The Kaspersky VPN is powered by Hotspot Shield. Recently it stopped working. When I go to the console it says NAT type unavailable and it's saying it cannot find a teredo IP. I went to look at my computer and now it is saying no internet access when I look directly at the connection that's being shared. Wouldn't you have to get the DDoS protection addon too though? Otherwise they could just DDoS your vpn IP and attack the vpn server so you go offline from the game until you disconnect from the vpn.. Or what am I missing here?

Most of the time it's people in parties who know each others IPs so it wouldn't matter if I use a vpn or not unless it's got DDoS protection. PIA has around 3gbps on their servers but it happens way too often that I run into kids with botnets and for that I need something that can withstand at least over 20k. I'm a university student and just got gifted an xbox one console. The university does not allow game consoles to connect to its network but does allow the us of VPN's. I was wondering if maybe I used a wireless network adapter through my used 2014 macbook (running sierra) to create an access point or hotspot could I run the VPN through it and thereby enable internet access to my xbox one s? Also, the university only allows wireless connection. There are no hardwire ethernet options in dorms or anywhere else on campus.
That would most likely work, I've created my own hotspots multiple times in similar situations. The only issue you might run into with any console is it not connecting immediately, you might have to go to a university web page and log in or accept their ToS.

you need a router that supports vpn settings! If you use your standard isp modem your pretty screwed, you would have to buy your own modem and connect it to your isp modem!
yes, i have an asus dsl-68u ac1900 that is a router with a built in modem. if you are on fibre/cable you can put that into modem only mode and buy a seperate router....the best on the market are asus and have vpn capabilities built into them....they are excedllent!

rashed - I don't know if you have solved your problem yet but here goes. Your best shot at a VPN in India would be VyprVPN, but you could also try using a smart DNS server, they are cheaper than VPNs and have good DDoS protection.

its probably because of your protocol, pptp is extremely slow and unstable try using a different protocol it should be somewhere in your vans app

I Connect My ethernet cable to my xbox and pc then go to sharing and share the vpn to the ethernet cable and nothing happens

you have to connect your Xbox and laptop through RG cable and the laptop wifi should be ON and laptop is connected wirelessly to internet
