MentalOutlaw is one of the few RUclipsrs whose opinion on VPN services I can agree with.
Two more things about VPNs and encryption.
    1. If you did not create the keys yourself, they do not belong to you.
    2. It's hard for me to imagine that NORDVPN and Netflix don't have some secret deal.
I know how sophisticated Netflix's geo-restriction checks are.
They check your latency, hops, DNS, network, and whether your IP belongs to a data center where you might be hosting.
They could easily prevent any NordVPN user from viewing geographically restricted content.
I bet there's a lot of money involved.

Hey Muta. I hope you see this comment.
Here in Iran we're facing one of the most strict internet censorships of the current times. Instagram, Whatsapp, Twitter, and even RUclips (yes, I'm using a VPN right now), are all blocked by the government. Usually there's always a free VPN that works for some time, and then gets found out by the government and their addresses get blocked. Oracle needs a working CC to identify you, but here in Iran we do not have access to any services that provides us with a globally accepted CC. Is there any way to consistently get around internet censorship here in Iran (for free)? It's fine if the IP isn't masked. I would really appreciate a comment on this, or even better, a video for the people around the world facing internet censorship in third world countries.
Best regards, and thank you in advance.

The trick to getting great download/upload speeds is to not go with previous generation hardware and instead choose an Ampere VM (VM.Standard.A1.Flex shape which is free tier eligible). You get 1 Gbps bandwidth per Ampere OCPU so just get more OCPUs! You get 4 OCPUs and 24 GB of memory in the free tier. The other trick is to not use OpenVPN and instead set up a Wireguard server. I have one Ampere VM with 2 OCPUs and I can pretty much max out my ISP bandwith for download (400 Mbps) and get 88-90 MBps or higher for upload.

Yeah, I have a free tier on Oracle, but they decided it was time to reclaim resources even though I was using mine for a Discord bot I was testing on Ampere. But then they royally fucked me so hard that I could no longer login to the server as it instantly booted me out. I had no issues prior to logging into it before, then all of a sudden, I'm no longer allowed to log into it.
I've thought about using my OVH server that I pay for to route some connections through, mostly as a more comprehensive adblock and mobile VPN connection. Still thinking about it, but I'd have to do a lot more setup though because I run Debian on that VPS, rather than a pre-made image that Muta showed in this video.

If you create your own vpn you miss out on the benefits of having your traffic mixed in with everyone else's traffic on the same IP Address... I'd recommend either a stealth vpn or at least trying to get 40 to 60 other people onto your private vpn to make it look like the IP Address of a small office. The most tricky bit is how to cover the cost of bandwidth which usually requires a large benefactor or small membership fee.

Access the servers on my home network. 3. Get ad blocking with my own DNS server on my phone while on the go. I don't have a static IP address, but my router has a built in Dynamic DNS service to bind whatever my IP is currently to a domain name with it's own SSL cert.
If I'm doing something where I actually need to obfuscate my IP address I'll just use the free VPN that is included with my Google One subscription, but it's rare that I need to do that.

Hey - Great video - Just one small thing I'd change.
Oracle have recently been pushing ARM-based CPU's since they use far less electricity, and so have rather crazy limits on their Always Free tier for it.
Instead of choosing AMD, use Ampere (VM.Standard.A1.Flex)
You can then shoot the specs up quite high (Freely speaking), whist still remaining 100% free.
    OCPU count: 4
    Network bandwidth (Gbps): 4
    Memory (GB): 24
As you see, this spec is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than the one you have set, and is "priced" the same.
For users attempting to use this for anything more than just a basic VPN box, just note that you need to ensure your software is ARM (aarch64) compatible. Whilst some older software may not be, quite a bit of modern software is releasing ARM-based versions for this purpose - Especially things you'd find on server-based infrastructure.
That said, I've managed to get Steam (x86) AND a Valheim Server (x64) running on it using emulated architecture just fine, although that's not something your regular end-user will easily be able to set up.

    IP addresses and information derived from IP addresses, such as geographic location;

Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! This time we take a look at the second iteration of MutaVPN. With so many companies offering security and privacy is there not a way you can achieve a significant amount of their offerings with a little bit of hard work on your own part? Let's find out! Thanks for watching!

It's a good guide to create a private vpn , but would be better if you can explain the detailed working like ssh or subnet . Ofcource we all can google these terms , but your tutorial would bring a practicality and a better idea to what those things do . Tutorial is great for those who just want to create vpn.

"Always free" isn't always free in Oracle environment. Oracle is known to use credit card once you've exhausted you free tier. Their customer is service isn't great either. I feel Oracle quite a "rude" company when it comes about money.
