One of the most reliable ways to find out if your VPN is actually hiding your IP address or current location is to use a coordinate-based geolocation. Make sure you are connected to the VPN and then just go to any search engine (like Google) and ask any of these following questions.
1) "What's my current location?"

@Surfshark Academy Hotspot doesn't work at all from my laptop and desktop. This is with and without vpn enabled. Doesn't work with other devices connected to it either. It's like DNS stops working when connected to the hotspot.

@NoobHacker92 I have no idea. I'm using windows 10. I ended up just giving up trying to use my VPN on my Xbox. The reason why I wanted to do so has been resolved now. Rockstar finally fixed it. My ISP raised a ticket with them and it took them almost a year to respond.
