    Over the years the Jeep Wrangler has been one of the best ways of getting your off-road thrills on no matter where you go. For 2018, the legacy continues only this time with a much more modern, yet simplistic approach. From it's body-on-frame design to the fully updated interior and exterior, the Wrangler continues the march it started back in the 1980's, but is it enough to still attract the same fanbase and stay competitive in the SUV market? Watch the review to find out!

    I got this jeep a while back and modded the heck out of it. I was hesitant getting a newer one for the type of mudding that I do but I love it. Vehicle is 10/10 and the video was well presented, also a 10/10.

    Great review. Just traded in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler JKU. I had 90,000 m . Never had any mechanical problems. Very well made. Just purchased a 2”18 Jeep Wrangler JLU Sport S. What a difference! Jeep listened to the Jeep community. So far I’m very impressed. Look forward to driving it. Agin thanks for a awesome review!!!

    I have a Sport S in the same color with the soft top. Ive taken it through Ocala National Forest, forded steams, and gone through the sand. The JLU Sport S is a capable machine.

      What's the best resource for where to take that beast in Ocala? I've been having issues with finding out where I'm actually legally able to drive it off road there. 76" wide basically rules it out for nearly all the 4WD trails...

    Thank you for this review. Most reviews are on the Sahara or Rubicon and this is the only one I can find on the Sport.
    There is also a model named the "Sport S" and I would love to find a comparison of the two.

    You don't need to be in neutral to put in 4 high. And you can do it while you're driving under 45 mph.

    It always has had command track 4wd shift on fly transfer case. Since 1987. No clunk. Ok up to 55 mph. Really. 4low, yes be barely rolling.

    • @gregf7103
      @gregf7103 5 лет назад +5

      bossman.... you’re dealer is correct. It’s shift on the fly, do it all the time. From the owners manual:
      “ 2H To 4H Or 4H To 2H
      Shifting between 2H and 4H can be made with the vehicle stopped or in motion. The preferred shifting speed would
      STARTING AND OPERATING 329
      be 0 to 45 mph (72 km/h). With the vehicle in motion, the transfer case will engage/disengage faster if you momen- tarily release the accelerator pedal after completing the shift. Do not accelerate while shifting the transfer case. Apply a constant force when shifting the transfer case lever.
      4H To 4L Or 4L To 4H
      With the vehicle rolling at 2 to 3 mph (3 to 5 km/h), shift an automatic transmission into NEUTRAL (N), or press the clutch pedal on a manual transmission. While the vehicle is coasting at 2 to 3 mph (3 to 5 km/h), shift the transfer case lever firmly to the desired position. Do not pause with the transfer case in N (Neutral). Once the shift is completed, place the automatic transmission into DRIVE or release the clutch pedal on a manual transmission.”

    Absolutely crazy! $36,000 for a basic sport unlimited with only automatic, limited slip diff, and hardtop......still get manual windows and door locks. 😱 No way in hell it should cost that much. For that same $36,000 you can get a Tacoma double cab trd off road 4x4 or 4Runner sr5 4x4!!!!! Literally the same cost but sooooo much more refined. And equally capable off road. Probably more capable compared to this sports weak front dana axle and gearing. Crazy that people are spending that kinda money for this horribly outdated wrangler. Prob a lot of buyer regrets out there realizing they spent that much on a bucket that rattles and vibrates like crazy, wind noise and cheap feeling like crazy. Or if they encounter the death wobble. I test drove one and then drove a 4Runner and Tacoma. Wrangler is stuck in the 80s. And it felt like it. Driving experience was horrible. Anyone on the fence, do yourself a favor and get a Tacoma or 4Runner.

      I feel like maybe his msrp was 37 but doesn't sell for that... go look on cars.com and for 37 you can get auto dual zone ac, heated seats and steering wheel, power windows, 7" display, etc

    • @cdub.91
      @cdub.91 5 лет назад +2

      Same can be said about a Tacoma TRD off road double cab short bed 4x4. Long names ,I know 🤦🏻‍♂️ msrp is $36k and you get everything. 4x4, touch screen, alarm, push button start, etc. and it’s so much better built then a Jeep. Once you drive them back to back it’s insane and the difference is big. The wrangler has steering wheel shake, rattling interior, etc. it drives like crap on road. the Tacoma is MUCH more refined for daily driving and is just as capable off road. The only edge the wrangler has is extreme rock crawling due to clearance. But that’s it. And if your rock crawling all the time to get the most out of your wrangler, it’s not gonna last long. Same goes for the 4Runner. 4x4 SR5 for $36k and a much more solid vehicle. Except it doesn’t come with push button start.

    • @Airsoft1287
      @Airsoft1287 5 лет назад +3

      Nah if you look at the actual stuff in taco interior it is nowhere near as nice.. the upgraded interior options in the wrangler are used in many FCA vehicles and those parts are consistently rated one of the best modern interiors. I went shopping for a taco with my friend and couldn't buy it due to how basic the interior was and I hated the UI

    • @cdub.91
      @cdub.91 5 лет назад

      SiccBmw I mean, this wrangler has roll up windows for crying out loud. If you’re happy spending $36k on a vehicle with a weak Dana front axle and roll up windows then go for it. But there’s much better options and it’s under the Toyota tent. Then again you like BMWs. So you’re not very smart.

    • @Airsoft1287
      @Airsoft1287 5 лет назад +3

      @@cdub.91 the wrangler trans 8spd is used from everyone from FCA to bmw/audi so I call horse on the trans issues. The toyota interior is so bland and not feature rich in comparison.
