Motorcycle PDR is a highly specialized niche within the paintless dent removal industry. There just aren’t that many companies out there doing these kinds of repairs. This customer actually reached out to another PDR company about repairing this gas tank and was told that it wasn’t possible.
Dent Hogs repairs tanks and fenders in Griffin Georgia at our home base, however we frequently receive items in the mail from all over the country. This Yamaha Stryker tank was sent to us from NC.
Dang, I was blown away immediately upon seeing the finished result in this video. I can just imagine the customer and how he felt. He must have been doing back flips out of pure happiness.
Man my whole life has been in the motorcycle field and I’m retired now and I’ve never seen work this good, you guys are definitely professionals and I’m keeping your number handy for future repairs and will pass this on
James Polucha I really appreciate that. I’ve been in the PDR field for 19 years now, only been doing motorcycles for about 5. This segment in PDR is starting to grow and more guys are adding it to their business models but it is still a small group of guys in the industry. Thanks for the feedback and for sharing this video with others 👍🏻
I work on motorcycles and I would have said "no way" to fixing that. Amazing to say the least. What is also amazing is the paint didn't crack or chip from the impact.
Mike Smith yea I know, he got lucky for sure
Most gringos will dump the tank haha
So far, you guys look like you're the best at this kind of repair and provide the best looking "after"! I've been watching different techniques all day and this looks like the simplest yet most difficult way to remove dents from tanks and I've got to say, I'm incredibly impressed with your work!
i RageQuitAgain thank you very much, I appreciate that 👍🏻
you are not just stephen, you are THE BOSS. Craftmanship at its finest. i am very impressed. you definitley know what you are talking about. Wow.
Dario Luca Cuter thanks man 👍🏻 I appreciate the compliment.
Total awesomeness! Can't believe you got that all out.
You guys do good work. It is kinda a testament to the integrity of modern paint.
Nimbly for sure, older paint wouldn’t hold up as well with larger damage like this
People....This man is a sorcerer I tell you! ........Excellent job, got to get into a bit of this on the tank of my 75 Honda XL 350. thanks for the upload.
Outstanding work guys, thanks for sharing.
VERY impressive. Nice work, sir.
You deserve all the success in the world.
Shredded Chi thank you!
Wish I was close to your shop, never seen somebody do that kind of work. Great
Nice work fellas, would never have thought that was recoverable!
I own a custom paint shop in Virginia Beach Wicked paint I can say that is a fantastic repair you guys did way to go
john brountas thanks man! I appreciate it. You on FB or Instagram? If so I’ll look you guys up.
Well Done! An outstanding job!
Been nice to slightly pressurize the tank while you were pulling with the glue. Beautiful outcome!
Thank you guys for offering your service great overall job
Nice work guys looks good again
That was absolutely amazing! I did collision repair and vintage auto restoration for years but, wow this is way cool!
Jeff Wyatt thanks man I really appreciate that. Always great to hear from other auto body guys.
Pro PDR of Ga Right on man! I’ve restored and saved rust buckets from the scrap yard turning them to show cars and I’ve fixed brand new train wrecks that needed 30k in work. I’ve done many paint jobs comparable to the one on that tank you repaired.
This dent repair completely blew me away though! I immediately subbed to you if that says anything! Keep up the great work brother!
Awesome man, I appreciate the sub. I’ll keep pumping stuff out there. I enjoy the job and video editing so it’s a good marriage.
That was. An incredible repair.. kudos you guys are craftsmen.. wish you were closer
Blair Stevenson thank you very much 👍🏻 we do have tanks and fenders shipped in for repairs as well.
I wouldn't have thought that was possible! Good job 👍
You guys are good. I wish you would have shown using the tools from the opening. . . It's amazing that pulling on the dent from the outside didn't pull the paint off.
234dilligaf I told the customer of the risk with glue pulling and he said “go for it”. Typically I won’t GP on gas tanks unless there is no other way. If you watch some of my other videos I think I show tooling out a dent from inside.
Amazing work!
You are a true Craftsman . way to go carry on
thats amazing work for sure !!!
Good work lads, I live in England and don't really have any dents in anything, you came up on the suggestions, but I was pleased to watch it
Nigel Perren thanks for checking us out! I was born in Bedfordshire and have family in the UK....there’s a great PDR shop over there called TDN if you are ever in need of PDR.
I felt like I was watching a master at work...exceptional!
Noahmercy -Mann i appreciate that, thanks for checking us out.
well done....great job...love that 'can do' attitude!
“Can’t do” doesn’t get you anywhere 👍🏻
Great work!
i would not have believed it if i hadn't seen it in video. Nice!
holoholo haole no ka oi haha, appreciate it 👍🏻
nineball26 dude, I’m sorry I didn’t video the 8 hours this repair took. Most people like a 2-3 min video. This was never painted. It took hours to fine tune the little details to get the metal slick to the point of wet sanding the clear to being perfect again. I would not claim this as a paintless repair had that not been the case. But I appreciate the compliment, if you think I repainted or cleared it to get these results I count that as a win.
@nineball26 look closely at the decal, still has small crease where dent was
You guys are geniuses.
AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING! Well done!
Very nice job !
Incredible work guys! Well done.
Thank you 👍
beautiful work
Great job guys 👍
Mission Impossible Reload... Great Job. Bravissimo e tanti complimenti! Really inspiring 👍👌🙂.
Great job!!! I’ve seen several people do paint-less dent repair on cars but I never thought about doing it on motorcycle gas tanks.
JOSH DRUMMOND there aren’t that many guys doing it at the moment. At this point it’s a small niche within the PDR industry but it is steadily growing.
Pro PDR of Ga I can understand why. My brother had a sportster a few years back. I think it was a 2012. The insurance company was going to total it for a dent on each side of the gas tank. It had been dropped a couple times sitting still and just because 2 dents it was gonna be totaled. The guy sold it to my brother and he rode it for a while till he got a bigger bike.
JOSH DRUMMOND i haven’t done any insurance work...not sure why. I’m trying to crack that nut through my relationship with the HD dealers around me....time will tell.
Pro PDR of Ga absolutely. I don’t see why the insurance companies wouldn’t catch on but I hope it becomes a huge thing. Best of luck. You really don’t need it because you’re work is flawless from what I see here.
Wow wow great job !!
Amazing job!
I subbed and saved this video on the very very off chance i ever drop my bike lol. In Tucson i had to cross a wash to and from work every day. One day the sand got me. Wasn't paying attention and the bike went down and stalled at the same time. I was going about 4 mph at the time. No tank damage so i don't count that one lol
David Brandt you got lucky, glad you were ok. Thanks for the sub 👍🏻

That was awesome!
Whaaat??? Wow! Awesome work!
GREAT JOB!!!!
wow looks great
I don't have a motorcycle. That fix was incredible!
I'm surprised the paint didn't get messed up.
Lou Fazio you can do a lot with metal as long as you have a heat gun keeping the paint hot.
Me, too, but I was thinking in terms of whatever caused the dent damaging the paint at the same time.
Mike Brown yea I cant remember how he said it happened but I know it was dropped....maybe in the grass 🤷♂️
Very nice, you got the skills to pay the bills.
David Nanze 😆 appreciate it
You are a wizard, really nice job
Exactly what I'm looking for hopefully my Raider is the same way
F***n MIRACLE! Very good!
You guys are awesome
Thanks 👍
Awesome Job !
That's awsome. And wow they dont want u to fix them they want u to just buy new thats why they make it so hard to repair stuff now days. But u guys did it. Good name for yourselves. Good job
Old Blue thanks I appreciate it.
Wow.. That is amazing! Could you please explain why the paint finish remains intact during these PDRs.
W. Apnj as long as the metal isn’t stretched badly and heat is applied to the area, the paint remains flexible and can withstand shaping it from the inside like this. If it’s cold or too sharp of a tool is used the paint can crack, experience is the best teacher
Pdr is good if done right.
WE NEED OONE LIKE YOU, in Europe
Fantastic
Best work ever seen... 👍👌
Im Jadefox thank you, I really appreciate that
@@ProPDRofGa You got some good skills bruh.... #Shout-out
