    Whilst I understand Mullenwegg's concerns, Automatic are surely guilty of letting many commercial plugin developers play fast and loose with licensing.

    Not a fan of Automattic but they did wp engine right. That company is apple of wordpress environment.

    WP Engine I never used either. Too expensive and seems just way too locked down and predatory pricing, no thanks
    However, doesn't seem like WP Engine did anything wrong though

      mostly, it does sound they edited an open source plugin to get revenue from the installs versus you know the developer who made the plugin. license wise its kosher but its kind of a dick move if your using it.
