- Happy Independence Day to my USA Kingdom Followers and RUclips Subscribers. the plan was to relax and do little things on the Adams grader known as Gomez but once i got soaked with gear oil there was no turning back. it was a long day being dirty but all the gear box that control the function of the grader now have new oil and lubed up to work. finished out the day with a big surprise in the steering box. a little thing broken and that will need to be improved with welding and some more welding. thansk
this is a daily updated channel from the Kingdom in Northern Manitoba Canada where every day is a struggle to survive in the new world we now live in. the life style of recycling, re-using, re-purposing plus living with no money is what the Kingdom has been all about for the last 28 years. we have been doing it long before it became a cool lifestyle. thansk

Cheers to all three I'm glad you fixed your grader and THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO
thank you, glad you guys enjoy thansk
Thank you for the Independence day wishes Sir Rodney!
👍🤠
yes his new mic seems to work thansk
Your welcome john
When plagued by a lone mosquito in the bedroom, I just let it bite me then slap it. Easier than trying to chase it down. Thank you guys for the 4th of July wishes! Grader is coming along nicely, enjoying watching it come together. Goodnight all...
thank you, we were not planning on working on the grader this summer but it is turning out to be an interesting smelly project, lol thansk
Great job I definitely put my time in on repairing them back in the 80s I was so glad went everything went to hydraulic cylinders 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
yes the gear boxes worked well at the time but hydraulics is so much better. thansk
Great job! 👍🏽😊❤️🇺🇸
thank you thansk
King🤴,Crown Royal, and I have been celebrating for a while today !☆ The grader looks great. Talk to you later. ☆☆☆☆☆☆
excellent, Crown Royal is the drink of choice or gift not to insult people. Sir Rodney is located not very far from where it is brewed. only 1 place in canada too. thansk
Again the King has filled his video with lots of terrific tips and techniques you can’t find anywhere. The Nut-stopper is brilliant! The only thing close I’ve seen is expensive Hot Rod nut and bolt hardware that is tiny compared to Gomez size hardware.
thank you, the idea of these videos and comments is to get people to learn and working on their projects even if they have no money. 98% of these project is time but the new world thinks you need to buy new of this and that to make a project. thansk
Great video again. Joey, keep up the good work. Thank you for sharing.
thank you, will do thansk
Good evening from Cape Cod ⛵ Happy Independence Day to those of you in the Great White North🎆 thank you for your wishes Sir Rodney, Xena and King Joey 👍 I'm really paying attention as you walk around explaining what you're up to on Gomez, there really was some fine craftsmanship in engineering involved, very impressive piece of equipment. I'm glad to see that it's turning out good for you, yeah there's a couple of broken things here and there but I have faith in you Joey to get it straightened out. Keep up the great work and the awesome content guys ✌️🇺🇲🇨🇦
yes what they did back then and how did they find such gear boxes to work. now we google and look at information and photos to see if it will work. back then they would have to get information in the mail or visit the factory making the items. thansk
Your welcome
Nice, clever video title tonight your highness.
Stayin tuned! 👍🤠
thank you, was to be a relaxing day, lol thansk
Happy 4th to u guys too 😊😊
excellent thansk
Happy 4th of July to you King ,staff and Sir Rodney.
thank you, we enjoyed the day thansk
Happy 4th to my American friends! 🙂
yes thansk
Yes you have to stay hydrated on these warm days. Good idea on using the impact to make things move. Glad to see the staff and Sir Rodney having a good day too🤘
yes drink lots and work slower. get things loosened up means less drama,,,, i hope thansk
When we rebuilt our 1940 car steering box it had the same basic setup as the worm gear and arm. Our pin was held in with tapered roller bearings. Two stacked rows of loose bearings like you have.
good to know that is was a common practice back then. thansk
Morning from Gagetown, happy Fourth of July to all the American followers, 🇺🇸🇺🇸 Gomez is getting closer to running, it’s really interesting to see all the components they used to make it operate, nice that you can figure out a solution to the broken stuff you find. Hope everyone has a great day
yes it was a good 4th of july, a smell i will remember for a while. yes think outside the box and get working on a project even if you have no money. thansk
It’s looking more grader like all the time Joey. I was noticing that there is almost as much welding rod as there is original machine!
I like that angle thingy that you have on your impact, I’ve never seen one before.
yes the rocks and more rocks up here are hard on machines and men so lots of welding in repairs. the 90 degree angle thing was very handy when doing winter road truck and trailer springs. it gives full power compare to the purchased 90 degree impact wrenches. thansk
Hey Joe thanks for the little bit longer video it's great how you show how you can make anything work and explaining things I am so glad to be a part of your adventure keep turning them bolts and make sure you and Jack have a great time lol keep the video's coming Joe we are watching
thank you, our videos are usually 20 - 30 minutes long that way people can enjoy a good nap, lol. me sharing knowledge means other people are sharing back and people are learning too thansk
Thaat looks about size of nissan piolet bushing input to crank shaft just sating cheers guys 😊
it could be. thansk
Hey sir Rodney 😊
Whats up dave
he is awake now thansk
🥂😎
….Your hands must of been really tingling after the hammering from that big impact gun!…..
yes but better then using the big ratchet. thansk
yes old skool old guys rule where thiers a will thiers way in my day were thier was belt thier was motivation
yes old school you could not give up thansk
I’ve used one of those light weight electric pressure washers to clean coveralls and other clothes that had gear oil, grease, and ground in dirt before putting them in the washing machine. Sometimes a little Varsol helps as well, but good luck getting that. WARNING! Higher pressure washers might damage clothes. I have not tried them out, because I don’t have one. Grader is coming along nicely. Looks like it sustained damage falling off a mountain. Had not seen an Adams grader before now. An internet search says they came up with the first leaning front wheels on a towed grader. Keep having fun. We are all learning.Take care.
yes we pressure wash quite a bit of house hold items to get clean here in the Kingdom. the Adams Grader were very popular at one time. thansk
I really like this grader project. Having worked on LeTourneau equipment, this grader just reeks of the crazy man's engineering much like WestingHouse.
thank you, Mr. LeTrourneau has some wild ideas and got quite a few of them built too thansk
Great learning day today, thanks so much.
I can't explain things as good as you, just piss the wife off. 😂
Good day to you King.
Thanks
Rick
thank you, this videos are only edit for length and everything is done in one shot from start to stop with no second or 3rd takes. i am also learning lots through the comments too. thansk
Looking good Joey.
thank you, slowly coming along thansk
Tremclad should sponsor painting your grader. ;-) (said lovingly)
yes and Rust-O-Leum for the big boat, lol thansk
@@kingofobsolete4789 With Leak-Proof Protection Plus! (so the boat will float!)
1st u can't get there before me lol 😊
Unless I have a time machine! lol
yes you are the first comment, have a drink, lol thansk
Cheers mr truth
@@dave-uf8ir Thanks Dave!
@@TruthProvider excellent
Only you know how to fix the steering box that might be a challenge good luck great video as always
yes we will be consulting with Jack Daniels on this one again, lol thansk
Shadey arcers lol😊
different show thansk
I’ve had problems with wash-out with the silver anti-seize over time, so sometimes the copper works better. On those bolts that capture the ball for the blade frame up front, I would use copious amounts of blue lock-tite to prevent vibration loosening and rust seizure. This is based on lessons learned as driller trash. Yep, I buy blue lock-tite in the pint bottle. Thanks for the videos. Take care.
i have used the copper never seize in the past but we are limited on what we can buy and get up here. blue lock tight is popular with us too thansk
@@kingofobsolete4789. 10-4.
That was cool hope i dont sleep in truck like last 4th bag boy lol 😊
yes behave this year thansk
Make a bushing for steerig gear
yes we will weld and weld some more thansk
Sir Rodney might be able to locate new U joints for the grader. Some truck PTO's have a shaft that runs back to the hydraulic pump. Those shafts have U joints. Also Princess Auto may stock a unit you can adapt. I'm so helpful everyone have a drink.😊 AL B.
yes, most likely Sir Rodney has the u-joints in stock and we will wait to be ordering any until the grader runs and drives forward more then 100 feet, lol thansk
In LeTourneau's later years he would have put a diesel generator on board and used 575 3phase and dc motors with no fuses because they blow and are troublesome. This made it easy to troubleshoot , just look for and replace everything that was burned up.
yes he was a head of his time with electric powered motors to drive. if he waited another 30 years he would have had fun because electrical advanced so much thansk
That steering box is nice. Too bad the only funky part is that pin. But you know, as odd-ball as it seems, maybe, Sir Rodney is going to pull off some of his magic and find it to be an off the shelf component that fits some bit of common industrial equipment.
yes that is what we are hoping that there is an upgrade for the faulty pin or improvements. thansk
They should of stayed at 11ft moldboards. They have 16s to 18s now and ours old side roads are only that wide. Works good for snow I guess.
yes wider for snow the better plus harder on the equipment grabbing so much material so far out too thansk
🇺🇸🎉🇺🇸
thansk
King Joey you must like jig saw puzzles
yes it keeps my mind sharp and thinking all the time, lol thansk
Shear pins break because no one lubed anything properly those knucle buster controls wil lift that grader
yes and lots of rocks and more rocks too thansk
I think the stink in the gear oil is from sulfur. Lots of equipment used worm gears. Any chance of finding the pins?
😎
yes it could be the sulfur which has a smell all its own. we think we have the pins thansk
Gear oil had sulfur in it as a pressure additive. I think you need to make friends with someone who has a lathe. That part doesn’t look difficult to make.
yes it could be the sulfur. closest friend with a lathe will be 1200kms to the south which is Sir Rodney. thansk
Almost as wide as my D7 C Blade 11.6
yes, seems to be a standard width back then thansk
them metal buckles wake you up fast lets just say you knew what was expect learn fast right did it right some could get hurt real bad in those days machine got no feelings heat or cold alert and aware or well place boot sure let you know
yes not the easiest machine to learn or operate thansk
I was told that old smelly oil is whale oil. Idk if that's true.
not idea, i don't think there was that many whales back then, lol thansk
😬just about said the f word 🤭. Hate when it just pops out haha
yes and we try to keep this a family channel, lol thansk
Did you eventually consume enuf booze for the gear lube smell to go away?
yes at about 11:11pm last night, lol thansk
Hey king I will have a drink in your honor here in the USA, don't say the F word, Frogs don't like you using their name.
excellent, thank you very much thansk
Did you hear about the queer Canadian Monty who tied up his whistle and blew his horse?
oh my thansk
