This video, as well as a few that will be posted in the near future, employ significantly less editing than my prior reaction videos on this channel. This is being done in an attempt to gauge how effective/necessary said edits are for my videos' success. While I honestly somewhat enjoy making the edits that I do, if they are found to be largely unnecessary then discontinuing them would free up a *_substantial_* amount of time allowing me to upload noticeably more videos each week.
If you have an opinion regarding the editing (whether to stick to the old way of doing things or to continue lazy editing to allow for more videos), please let me know that in the comments here! Please *DO NOT* Dislike the video as a means of trying to inform me about the editing in some way. Disliking tells me _nothing_ about what a viewer actually didn't like or what their opinion is on the video and can also have a strong detrimental effect on the way RUclips views my video and the extent to which they show it to others. Thanks ^.^
too much editing, not enough of the actual reaction, most of the moments I looked forward to have been cut
I'm referring to edits like zooms, cutaways, and similar transformations which can be seen in my other videos. Most reaction channels don't post their full reactions on RUclips, and like those other channels, I have a Patreon where you can see the full reactions with a timer to sync up the show alongside me if that's something you're interested in 🙂 (I will say that this reaction isn't on Patreon just yet because I do tend to prioritize the RUclips versions of videos over Patreon while trying to grow; it'll probably be up in a day or two)
That all being said, I'm surprised to hear that I cut "most of the moments" you were hoping to see 🤔 It's still a fairly long video after all, haha
The crater wasn't anything special, it was just a gaz explosion like in fuyuki city. Lol
By the way, the Gil vs Enkidu clash was actually more tame in the anime. It was crazier in the manga and novel.

If youd only watched Babylonia fully, youd be waaaaym more hyped for Enkidu!
The old man and the giant spider that was mentioned at the end also are quite a huge presence in Nasuverse. If you're curious about them, just search up Zelretch and ORT Giant Spider. No other information about them you will ever get in any Fate anime anyway, if you want to clear up some confusion in your mind.

Doubt youll see this but fun fact. Fate earth is seperated into different realms/Layers. Gil's Ea has the power to destroyed one of these layers meanwhile Enkidu's own version of Enuma Elish puts it back together. So, when everything went white the first time Gil was destroying that layer of the plant while enkidu was fiting it.
So Gilgamesh has the power to destroy the (Earth/animation) layer with all the colors on it. Huh, weird 🤔😆

Was rewatching this video a bit, one thing I thought would be good to know: the master of assassin MIGHT be a true ancestor. I don't know for sure either because I'm a complete anime-only when it comes to strange fake, but true ancestors is a concept introduced in other works. Basically, there are vampires in this universe (and he has sharp teeth as you notice). There are also the true ancestors, which are particularly powerful. Mind you, in the timeline Fate operates them True Ancestors are very scarce afaik (reason for that goes way back to Zeldritch, the guy in the post-credit scene) but it seems like in the Strange Fake timeline there is at least one of them. Normal vampires are more like animals, and require blood to survive, that doesn't necessarily apply to True Ancestors. However, they can draw power from blood and blood also is kinda addicting to them so yeah, if it helps and tastes good, why not indulge in it. He consumed all of the mages in the episode too. Power-wise, a True Ancestor should be on the level of a servant, it depends.
I got this info from Tsukihime, which is another work in the Nasuverse which hopefully gets an anime adaptation at some point. One of the main characters there is a true ancestor, but she is that strong that she is considered the 2nd strongest entity in the entire Nasuverse, if not the strongest, not exactly sure anymore, but power levels even between true ancestors are very uneven, just to give an idea.
These series certainly do have a lot of lore that can be hard to pick up on for anime-only fans I've found 🤔
@@RiverReacts maybe they explain it in the upcoming TV series too, but yea, for anime-onlies it's impossible to know about true ancestors as of now. They're not really a thing in the Fate timeline (Tsukihime is in a timeline completely different from Fate works)
You really should watch HF if you already watched F/Sn and UBW, it's a final missing piece of the story and of course they are pretty good movies in general. I don't think that they are renecessary for Strange Fake, but Narita is a very big fan of TypeMoon and he put a lot of references and cameos in this light novel. Some characters are pretty obscure but honeslty even if you know who they are that's not gonna help you understand what's happening here. This fake HGW is insane rollercoaster, can't wait to see the whole thing.
Yeah I know that Heaven's Feel is supposed to be like the adaptation of the 3rd and final path of the original visual novel, so it definitely makes sense for me to watch it given the other series that I've seen, like I said it's really as simple as having not gotten around to it once I realized that all 3 parts were available, haha. I think I may well end up watching them before the Fate/strange Fake TV series starts airing since this kind of reminded me that I should get back to them, but I also figured I'd take the opportunity to try and probe for interest in doing reaction videos for them here 🤭
And since you seem to be a fan of the light novels for this series, thanks for alluding to more things to come without actually spoiling anything ^.^
Heavens feel is the peak of fate anime
I think a lot of people would say so, which makes me excited to watch it eventually 👀
I think the lyrics of the OP sum up how this story feels for Fate fans well enough, "Based on an overestimated armchair theory, you pretend to know the story, but youre wrong"
Absolutely no "normal" Master/Servant pairs here, except for maybe Ordando and Caster, that summoning probably went according to plan - but even then, Orlando is planning to use a group of humans as his fighting force, not his Servant directly
Absolutely love starting off with a huge setpiece fight like that, it really builds hype around the show and animation, shows us the relationship between Gil and Enkidu, and finally lets us see how Gil fights when he is not holding back and also can tap into a full supply of mana from a very powerful Master
Would love to see you watch HF!! Maybe split each movie into two videos so you can show more footage? And make sure you refresh yourself on the beginning of UBW, because since it's an alternate timeline it starts pretty similarly, and they save time by skimming over the parts that are the same. It is a really cool story you'll love it!
That's a fun point about the OP, haha. I'm sure the fight did a lot to hook most viewers, but for me I think it's more so just about how much I want to see more of the characters! I would say this special definitely delivered on what I was hoping for from a Fate series by Ryohgo Narita 😄
And seems I'm taking another tentative RSVP for a Heaven's Feel reaction! You may be right that it would be good to re-watch a little bit of UBW beforehand just to ensure I'm up to speed on the basic facts of the universe prior to experiencing a diverging timeline. Not sure if I would split the reaction video or not. While my initial instinct with RUclips videos is that shorter videos generally do better, I think the success of this video shows that sometimes it's quite fine if they're a little longer 😂 Sounds like a decision for future me 🤭
@@RiverReacts oh this video is not long to me haha, most Heaven's Feel reaction videos I have seen that put a whole movie in one video are 40-50 minutes (I generally won't watch very short reaction videos to anything tbh, I want to hear thoughts and commentary not just a few clips of immediate reaction)
I get you. If the media being reacted to is like an hour or two long then I think it makes sense to expect the reaction video to be longer, however that still makes it a longer video relative to videos that are like 10-15 minutes reacting to a regular length episode, you know. I like to think I provide a good amount of commentary while I'm watching the show, which is probably for the best since my current analytics are yelling at me about how people stop watching when the show's over 😅 Gotta play nice with the algorithm to grow a channel 😂

Gilgamesh and Enkidu together… yup, definitely not an ordinary holy grail war. We're messing with DIVINE level power. I would not dare get myself involved in this fight even if the holy grail is the real deal.
Honestly can't wait to see more from the other Servants, because they're gonna have to keep up somehow right? 👀
If you watched Fate Grand Order you would know something about enkido and other future servants to be summoned in strange fake. because in Fate babylonia many of the servants there are gods and goddesses including gilgamesh.

That old man in the end is the Kaleidoscope Zeldritch ojisan, u can see him in prisma illya and heavens feel hes the founder of clock tower and the one who helped the 3 families Tohsaka,Matou and Einzberns created the holy grail war, also (S)ayaka master of saber both series is also the protag in Fate/Prototype (anymore info would be a spoiler)
All Servants and Most of the masters here are all OP Broken asf specially when the Dead Apostle also joins this chaotic holy grail war.
I don't think I made any mention of it even in the full reaction, but I was aware that the Professor was Waver Velvet-kun all grown up ^.^
And certainly sounds like there'll be a lot to look forward to in the full series!
Enkidu is Gilgamesh's only friend (he mentioned in Zero that there was only one person who he would ever acknowledge as a "friend). So they're basically the world's first and oldest sidekick, and the two are roughly equal in power.
Also Enkidu is genderless so people usually use they/them pronouns.
to an extent Enkidu's "real" pronouns are "It" since it is a weapon of the gods, it doesn't have a soul per say nor gender, it's just living clay
Gil refers to Enkidu as "Him"
I will simply say this, out of all of the fate stay night content (plus zero) the heavens feel trilogy is easily the best of the bunch, fantastic fights, fantastic characters, and a fantastic tone. And unless this series manages to rival it when it comes out, its easily considered the fan favorite. I GUARANTEE youll love it.

Yeah I was trying to feel out what exactly Flat's deal was throughout the special and kind of landed in the boat of, "this kid is way too powerful for his own good". Not sure if his attempt at casually jaunting through a Holy Grail War is gonna get him into some serious trouble or if we're gonna see a bit of a darker side of him emerge, like how Jack the Ripper said he thought Flat would act the same silly way after killing someone 👀
@@RiverReacts yea flats one of the driving points of how fucked up mages can get and tsubaki is another case.
This was taken out of the anime but when tsubaki parents were at the hospital after the doctor explained what was wrong with tsubaki that left her in a coma their first instinct was to ask if she can still have kids.
The doctor was so shook she thought they were just traumatized when in actuality they were just gonna marry her off so they could continue theyr bullshit wuth their grandkid
I think that pretty much all of Fate/Zero did a good job showing that 😅
They didn't really expound much on everything that was going on with that family but it was clear that _some_ sort of crazy stuff was at play. I think because things were so unclear I didn't speak to it too much (and what little I did I think I cut from the RUclips version 🤔) but I definitely didn't get the impression that they were a couple of concerned parents wanting to participate in the Grail War for the good of their daughter or anything 😂
@@RiverReacts the thing about grail wars is that mages don’t necessarily care for them which is the funny thing. Usually mages who participate either do it because it’s generally their biggest chance of improving their status ( since wish granting device and all) or like kayneth who participated purely for a flex.
Outside f that the clock tower only just wants to make sure that if you’re doing stuff like that don’t snitch in magic

I think you should watch Fate Grand Order Babylonia more to get the deeper understanding of Enkidu with Gilgamesh.
Hmmm, like I said I tried watching that before and got several episodes in before dropping it due to disinterest. I imagine they'll expand on the pair's relationship at least a bit more in the actual TV series, so I think at the moment I'll keep this more so as a consideration for something to follow up on after watching more Fate/strange Fake if their dynamic is something I want to see more of at that point in time 🧐

@RiverReacts well, the ones that matter are from ep. 17-21 essentially the main battle. But it definitely is worth the slow build up to it, I would say give it a chance if anything.
