Always loving seeing these! These videos are the only place I like to get direct about stuff, so here we go! 4:30 - Lancer doesn't know he and Gilgamesh have the same master. He would assume Gilgamesh's master is Shinji at this point if he saw him. 6:50 - Semantics here, but "best at killing humans" and "greatest natural enemy of regular humans" are two different categories. 8:05 - I feel like their relationship in CP is already what you're looking for lol 12:50 - Saber. 16:24 - in the Fate route Lancer holds off Gilgamesh for a full day before Gilgamesh finally overtakes him. His Protection from Arrows was instrumental in doing so. If you've only seen the Dean adaptation they did that feat really dirty. 17:04 - Please see episode 1. 17:28 - Other way around. Archer's telling Lancer what he's trying to do to Caster. EDIT: You got there! 18:14 - There's actually another layer to this. In Lancer's period of history potatos weren't actually common (or really present) in Ireland. Archer doesn't directly know that. It's a hilarious insult because Irish, but Lancer doesn't respond to it because that particular quip doesn't mean anything to him. 20:30 - Apart from being such a great song, Stranger I Remain says a ton about Archer. We include our Insert Songs only if they both feel right and say something about the characters. 24:10 - Copyright bots do be that way. 24:50 - He's having his first genuine emotion in the show, effectively. 26:50 - In terms of winning the war he's correct. He's assuming that if Kirei is dead then Gilgamesh's overall plan will have changed (and Gilgamesh isn't showing an interest in Saber in this path). 27:50 - Our Archer is from the past Nasu describes him as being from - one similar to the Fate route, where he understood Saber but failed to save her from herself, so she went on chasing her wish. 28:47 - In a previous episode Shirou delcared he was the Robin to Archer's Batman. 33:03 - Seethe. Yes. Yes good. Despair. 35:00 - You might be unaware of the minor detour the anime takes before the battle you're thinking of.
6:50 Another Note: the best Killers of human known are ORT, the Aristoteles of the Oort Cloud (and maybe also Mercury? Still want that answer Nasu) and Primate Murder, the Beast of Gaia that is boosted by comparison of others leading to be capable of limitless power boosts And under the shared gold spot is our bronze medal Angry Mango
- Huh, I actually don't know why I assumed Cu would know he and Gil have the same master. And I know I didn't just assume that for this abridged alone. Guess it must have been fannon I picked up somewhere years ago and never thought about it. - So if those categories are different, who fits the other one. I can think of a few who would make a good running, but anything with ORT seems like overkill, so I wouldn't assume that one. - Saber... Guess my Eresh simp is showing on this one. I'd say that's embarrassing, but that would imply I have shame. - My first Fate series was Deens Fate Stay followed by their Tsukihime. Yeah, didn't even know how dirty they did Lancer. - This is actually the first time I've ever heard about potatoes being rare in Ireland during that time. Cool thing to know, and even more that you worked it into the joke. Well played. - As for detours, I'm definitely not aware. Just means I need to go watch the source material. :)
@@Airier As much as I adore the Deen anime, they do both Archer and Lancer dirty. Archer by having him need to use Unlimited Bladeworks to take on Berserker(as well as not showing more of the fight), and Lancer by having him get taken out way too fast. Also the weird stuff with Caster kidnapping Sakura that was just done to throw a reference to Heaven's Feel because they'd never animate that route.
3:52 yes Cu did accidentally killed his son, because the boy’s mother put a curse on him to never say his name if ask. She was mad that Cu didn’t marry her. Cu had his heart set on marring a different women. 12:55 he means saber , he from the Fate timeline. 16:42 Cu fight Gill for a full day.
Also sorta wrong about him being from the Fate timeline. In the abridged they make it seem like he's from the Fate Timeline but it's more so he's from a completely different timeline that plays out similar to the og Fate
@@SuperSayianWarriorThis is actually canon to the visual novel as well. It's supposed to be similar but different to the Fate route. It's actually kinda interesting. We always talk about Fate, Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel as the only three major timeline splits for the Fifth Holy Grail War, but there are multiple others hinted at. Another unseen possibility is the route that Fate/Hollow Ataraxia is a sequel to, where everyone but Kirei Kotomine survived the Grail War, AND the OTHER route that Hollow Ataraxia is also sort of a sequel to where Caster and Kuzuki had a massive battle with Berserker and Illya at Ryuudou Temple.
27:26 I believe this is the official stance on what timeline Archer comes from: Q: What was the Fifth Grail War that Heroic Spirit Emiya experienced in his lifetime like? Was the Archer summoned there also Emiya? Nasu Kinoko: It was a world where the conditions at the beginning of the war were mostly the same, but something was missing. Shirou summoned Saber and fought until the end, didn't save Saber's heart but understood her, and they destroyed the grail together and parted... that's the image I have. Takeuchi Takashi: Ahh, so something like a Fate route Good End we didn't make in the game?! Nasu: Yeah, probably. After that, it is believed he cooperates with Rin who survived, and heads to London. Q: In the Fifth Holy Grail War that Archer was retracing, were the inner dealings of the Matou clan or Sakura’s circumstances known? If he had known, how did Sakura look through Archer’s eyes in this particular Holy Grail War? Nasu: That Archer only has “memories of Saber” when it concerns the Holy Grail War. When he was summoned, seeing his summoned before him, he started to acknowledge things around Rin as “his own things.” The inner dealings of the Matou clan is something he didn’t know before turning into a Servant, and Sakura’s current circumstances were something he deduced after being summoned for the Holy Grail War. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that he would assist Sakura. Archer is Archer. It’s not the guy. Takeuchi: He remembers just Saber… you’re talking about the opening scene in the original game. Nasu: It’s not that he clearly remembers details. His memories are vague, and at the point where he was assigned as a guardian, his memories are all blended together chaotically regardless of past or future. So, he no longer has the sensation of “what he feels is beautiful” anymore. Just think the “first contact with Saber” was something engraved into his soul as an Art Graph. Also, how that young man met Saber and how he was involved is something completely different from that in stay night.
@@SuperSayianWarrior i mean to be fair, he should have the worst luck of any servant by his legend. given luck in fate is ability to deny destiny. Cu's tale is literally fated to a short but glorious life.
@@ryanwill32 One say that it might be a Fate Route Bad End. One that, even if they defeated Kirei/Gilgamesh, Shirou wasn't able to understand Saber's feelings leading to her not being able to reconnect to her humanity, leading to her probably keep waiting for the Grail or simply dying without fully reciprocating Shirou's feelings and Shirou foolishly clinging to a flawedly idealized version of his dream
27:20 the answer is - Saber in Fate route was stuck in thinking that her wish is the most important thing to her, only rethinking it after learning about Angry Mango (and not even due to learning that). Compared to that, here she switches instantly (at least in Abridged, original UBW took more time too). Also Archer is more or less the same person in every VN route - ever-maidenless protag of almost-Fate route, where Saber didn't reciprocate
16:23 To answer your question, Archer is referencing Lancer's fight with Gilgamesh in the Fate route, specifically in the VN where it says it lasted 24 hours. The Deen adaptation left that out and made the fight last mere moments instead.
@@Airier Remember. In studio Deen stay night. After Gilgamesh kills caster. Shiro went to kerei to talk about the 8th servant. But Kerei plans to kill him. Shiro was injured and saber , Lancer and Gilgamesh gets there. Lancer said he will hold Gilgamesh off untill saber escape with injured shiro. In anime it shows Gilgamesh use chains to kill lancer quickly but didn't go after them because kerei already captured illiya.
@@Airier and rather fitting given his legend given that it took 1. soloing an entire army for several months straight, 2. fighting his best friend/rival Ferdiad mac Roch for three additional continuous days in between soloing the aforementioned army, 3. the jealous war goddess Morrigan crippling him by tricking him into breaking his magic contracts, 4. three spears mortally wounding on top of being crippled, leaving him to slowly bleed out to death 5. and still after all of that he managed to drag himself towards a large rock, and tie himself to it using his own disemboweled intestines, so by technicality he was still standing 6. and even after dying he managed to get one more kill in when his sword holding arm went limp and slashed the one enemy soldier sent to check if he was actually dead yeah original myth Cu was on another level edit:typo
Fun fact: The Causality Reversal is NOT the power of the Gae Bolg spear. It's ONLY a spear technique NP. This is why Scathach cannot use that ability. It's actually just a spear technique at the level of True Magic just like how Kojiro's Tsubame Gaeshi is a sword technique at the level of True Magic. The Spear actually only has two powers: 1- Anti-Healing curse; 2- Curse of Instant Death if the heart is pierced. This curse is powerful enough to defeat Arcueid if she was hit in the heart with it even though she lacks the concept of Death. The spear throw is also just a spear technique, with most of its power coming from Lancer rather than from the spear. And the throw was powerful enough to sheer through Rho Aias.
I've been wondering lately, is there any reason Archer can't trace the reversal thrust? It would have been supremely useful against True Assassin, for example.
@@michaelolaf9968 That’s … A good question, if Shirou with just an arm could replicate god speed by tracing the technique you’d think Archer would have made use of that by tracing the technique from Gae Bolg Then again Nine Lives Blade Works could only perform 8 strikes at Godspeed so something like the Gae Bolg and its ability was probably something that Archer couldn’t make use of
While Gae Bolg itself lacks the reversal of causality, it does actually actually seek the heart when thrown, that's how it's anti-army deployment works. It's scans the amount of enemies, splits into multiple copies for the number of targets verified, then seeks their heart for maximum effect. That's the reason Archer chose to block with Rho Aias instead of countering, he canceled out "seek the heart" with "block all thrown weapons"(think of the unstoppable force vs immovable object paradox). The anti-healing curse is the actually same as the instant death curse. When someone is pierced by the spear, it sends a curse in the form of thorns throughout the target, which prevents healing of the wound. If the targets heart is pierced, the curse can spread throughout the entire body, guaranteeing death.
You skipped the announcement in the end credits. In it they announced that they are going to do Heaven's Feel Abridged after they are done with UBW Abridged.
@@accipiter160 Sakura is implied to mostly be as passive-aggressive as she is due to being aware of herself getting shafted in this route. It may be lessened in HFA. ...but yes, gimme that Dark Sakura roasting. I need it.
27:49 In every Route, Archer comes from the same timeline, he simply approaches the situation differently (out of commision for the most part in Fate, Shirou Hate and Self- Loathing at 500% in UBW and Unkown territory in HF due to the shadow and Shirou's change of heart). The Route from were Archer comes from is most similar to Fate Route, *almost* identical, and even though he and Saber "won the war" by defeating Kirei and Gilgamesh, he couldn't reach her heart, she would keep on pursuing her desire to obtain the Grail and seeing herself as failure. Also, there are lots of moments were (while not saying it flat out) it is implied that Archer holds affection and respect for Saber and his knwoledge of the war matches for the most part the events of Fate Route + the fact that UBW must come after Fate in the reading/watch order is in made for us to realize that Archer is a Shirou that fought alongside Saber: he came to admire and love her, but wasn't able to understand himself and her in a way that would end up in their mutual salvation through their bond. PS: Loved the video man, your reactions are always a joy to see. Keep it up!
I love the fact that Archer and Lancer keep referring to each other by the names they gave each other during their first encounter: "Bite me" and "Mario", even though Archer obviously knows who Lancer is and Lancer knows at the very least that that isn't Archer's name 🤣🤣
16:25 In the Fate route, after Cu learned that Kirei had Gilgamesh as another Servant (among other things), Cu turned on them both and fought Gilgamesh to buy an opening for Shirou and Rin to escape. It was honestly Cu's best moment in that route imo.
2:50 Its a thing from the Original Transformers Movie. The 1986 (I think) one. Optimus Primes first death. Debute of Stan Bush's "You got the Touch" The "universal Greeting" is an old, even for million-years old Robots" greeting that mean you come in peace. Its also a Chekhov's gun
It's also referenced in the Transformers Animated episode "Garbage in, Garbage out", where an updated version of the Junkion Wreck-Gar uses it, with hilarious results. Side note, the use of the greeting from Wreck-gar, and him being voiced by Weird Al Yankovic (whose song "Dare to be stupid" was used as the Junkions theme in the movie) is an incredible multi-layered shoutout to old time fans, at least that's my interpretation.
12:50 in this abridged series Archer is from the Fate Route and said blonde is Saber In the original FSN all three routes are happening simultaneously so Archer wasn't in the timeline until he became a guardian which is a different timeline than the three that are happening in the original version
The fact that he didnt pick up on the fact that Archer barely keeps a lid on his panic when asked about something he actually doesnt know about. And the following statement about being flattered about being called prolly in his own sense a one man army. Absolutely brilliant 😂
16:17 In the Fate route he lasted half a day against Gilgamesh when buying time for Saber and Shirou… though iirc, the anime depicted it as a roughly two minute fight.
27:12 All of the Archers are the same version of Shirou, from a timeline that was very much like but *not* the Fate Route. According to Nasu none of the Shirous from any of the routes become Archer.
10:05 surprised no one caught this one. “You had a perfect woman willing to kick your ass! *Maeve* would be ashamed!” Is another reference to lancers legend lol. Specifically MedB being the person referred to
Am I the only one who actually felt kinda bad for Shirou when Rin became Saber's master? I mean, I get that it was the only way to save him, and at this point in the story the only thing that is different is Saber's Master. Like, the relationship between Saber, Rin and Shirou does not change, but still... I felt kinda bad
Why? shirou would probably be relived over this cause now him dying doesn’t mean saber dies. Plus since she isn’t being fed by his shitty circuits, he doesn’t have to simultaneously feed her prana while also simultaneously tracing. It’s just a massive win overall for everyone involved. Including shirou.
@@destroyercreater98 logically you are correct but I guess on an emotional level if just feels like he's getting the short end of the stick again. Shirou gets shafted a lot in the series and getting his servant contracted with someone else just doesnt sit right. again logically I know its for the best but still.
Not really......he admires Saber but she is not his not number one priority now.Rin now is also not that interested in Saber as well,so i would look at that as a situation when married couple's shares their property.(considering how little hesitance she had giving Shirou her magic crest kinda confirms it)
32:26 usually im all for stopping someone from reaching fulll power or unleashing their ultimate attack but this was just so cool even I'd sit there and let him finish
So fun fact the person who does this cover of brave shine is amalee also he was talking about saber cause he's from the fate route where he romanced saber as for what archer was referring too with lancer her fought Gilgamesh by himself for an entire day or maybe week to by everyone else time to prepare
Ended at the perfect line "I.... .want.......this.............""next episode right now!" I cant wait I'll be rewatching it just to remember all the little bits of there new story just to catch the lil bits
Yo at 16:48 emiya is referring to a timeline where gil and cu where the last servants standing and cu fought gil down for a full 24 hours before losing to his noble phantasm
3:19 your thinking of The Day the Earth Stood Still. and that is Klaatu barada nikto. which is refrenced in many things from army of darkness to star wars. what lancer used was the universal Greeting from the 80's transformers movie.
22:45 no. Archer’s whole plan was to Skrew over caster. Kirei was nowhere in the plan. Even if he was, Kirei barley supplies Cu with anything. all the shit he does is mostly through his own reserves. On top of that, Kirei’s magic circuits are nearly comparable to shirou’s cause not only did he get them through mutation, but he didn’t use them for most of his life. So to compensate his lack of prana output, he uses command seals to super charge his magecraft or blades when necessary.
Funnily enough that is also a reference to how at one point of writing the script Rin was supposed to have Lancer as her Servant. Her predecessor in Nasu's highschool writing had Lancer (although that version was very different, Fate/Prototype in general was a whole other story). This is why the VN hinted good chemistry between Rin and Lancer as a subtle nod to this. Then it became even more blatant when Rin in Fate/Extra has Lancer.
Class advantage is just an FGO gameplay mechanic and has no relations to the strengh of servant, just like rarity who is just an indicator of how much they want you to pay on average for a servant.
3:20 Do you mean The Day the World stood still ? (2008 American science fiction film serving as a loose adaptation of the 1951 film of the same name (which itself was based on the 1940 short story "Farewell to the Master").)
Archer is from FSN timeline, so him preferring blondes is reference to Saber and Cu lasted whole day there against Gilgamesh (although in anime they did make him die quickly).
This archer is from the stay night timeline. So the blonde would be saber, the lasted a day against him was lancer vs Gilgamesh in that timeline. This episode was gold lol.
1.The day the work stood still 2."Blondes" is referring to Saber since Archer is suppose to be emiya from the fate route 3.Lancer fought Gilgamesh in the VN for a full day before Gil killed him.
3:11 Don't know if anyone's said anything yet: "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (1951)??? Also "Bah Weep Granah Weep Ninni Bong" is from the 1986 Transformers movie. God, I'm old.
Haven't finished the video yet so I'm not sure if you end up remembering or not, but if I'm not mistaken, the "no wonder you lasted a full day against him" is a reference to the Fate route. IIRC at one point Lancer turns on Kirei and Gilgamesh to give Saber and Shirou a chance to escape from a confrontation, while Kirei lets it go on without using his command seals because...well...who's going to tell Gilgamesh he can't have his fun? Lancer proceeds to go 1v1 against Gilgamesh for a full 24 hours before eventually being overwhelmed. A good example of how the Hound of Ulster, when allowed to go all out and not being nerfed by the plot, is a pretty freaking impressive Servant.
I think the reference Cu brought up in the beginning is one about his uncle and adoptive father. Conchobar (Cu's uncle), was an ally of Fergus (Cu's adoptive dad) but he betrayed his trust by having his son killed trying to defend Naoise, the lover of Deirdre. (Conchobar's adoptive daughter)
The Archer servant EMIYA is Shirou from a timeline that runs somewhat similar to the Fate route, but where he wasn't able to basically save Artoria's humanity, then went on to continue to follow his ideals, only barely avoiding being like Kiritsugu. Upon his death due to a betrayal by someone he trusted, he made a pact with the world and became a Counter Guardian, but then became frustrated with that and managed to fix it so he could be summoned in the Fifth Holy Grail War. Literally from the moment EMIYA was recorded into the Throne of Heroes is where Fate/stay Night begins because, after that moment, Rin Tohsaka cannot summon any Servant except for Archer EMIYA due to him carrying the pendant Rin saved him with until the day he died, thus ensuring that the pendant would become a summoning catalyst. All of this a long con to try and kill Shirou Emiya to prevent himself from ever existing.
27:50 I think Nasu said that none of the routes' Shirous would become archer, but that the Fate route one would come the closest. So I guess they went with one that was similar with some differences that might make him more like Archer.
I see all the Airier Moments have been addressed by others so I'll just add that Cu is a 5* in a 3* package and this is a hill I (and MANY others) are going to die on. If I had an option to take a lancer to the Grail Front, you bet it was going to be him. Between Herc and Cu there really wasn't much left of the opposition afterwards.
The line "we both drew from the earth a responsiblity we have no way of understanding" is amazing. Because artoria (saber) literally drew excalibur from the earth and shirou(counter force archer)drew a contract with Alaya the will of the earth which they both have regretted doing so.
I haven't seen anyone comment about it (or it's just too deep and I didn't see it) but the cover of Brave Shine the ProMou bois use is a cover by Megami33. It's such a good cover (also helps them with copyright issues so win/win)
It's actually entirely unrelated to copyright stuff. We just wanted to work with her to have it made because we love her work and wanted to inject more of our own energy into the show. Melodies are also copyrighted, and we still have to deal with that when uploading episodes with the cover.
Cu may be a 3-star in GO but he's still really strong, ive heard a few theories that like Arash he purposely lowered his rating to be more available to weaker masters
Around 24:00 there's a desynch ( in the phone it skips completely a to the middle of next scene, in the tv it skips the visuals but the audio keeps notmal so it is now like a minute behind. Ae for the cryptic things Archer said that confused you, remmember that EMIYA Archer comes from a a timeline that mostly follows the FATE Route. So, while he has implete knowledge to this timeline he also knows how things went in the other - When he asked about where where the fourth reinforcement was, he meant Gilgamesh, HE KNOWS Kirei is the master of both, he just "corrects" himself when Cu ask if he refers to his master to keep the façade. - " I prefer blondes" , EMIYA Archer comes from a timeline most similar to the FAYE Route, so his main love interet was saber - when he ask if Lancer has proyectile protection and when confirmed says that explains that's how he lasted a whole day, as well as at the end of the fight when he said to him he desserved better, he reffers to his end in the FATE timeline, where he was betrayed and tortured by Kirei and Gilgamesh - when he reproaches saber about how NOW she recovered her humanity and then cuts himself, is because, although he comes from a timeline most similar to the FATE route, in his timeline he was unable to complete his romantic arc with her, and, in a way, was unable to save her from her own burden and obsession, so it pisses him off both seeing her getting over it in this timeline and doing it for Shirou,
@Airier Archer in this is supposed to be Archer from the Fate Route which is why whenever they have "flashbacks" it shows the Dean Fate/Stay Night Clips which covers the Fate route. Him "preferring blondes" is a reference to the fact that Shirou ends up with Saber in the Fate Route.
If i understand it correctly , Archer is from the Fate route , but failed at the emotional finale with Saber . Meaning while we get the emotional closure , he never gets that far , even if he managed to finish it without dying .
The thing about Lancer lasting a whole day against "him" is a reference to Lancer in the FATE route where he betrayed Kirei, and stopped Gilgamesh from going after Shirou, Saber and Rin for 12 hours of nonstop combat. We don't know how he lost in the end, but it's assumed to either be from having no mana left or from EA. HOWEVER, Gil would've likely gotten pissed off long before the 12 hours mark and would've actually started using the NPs of his weapons soon enough. Gil likely tried to use Enkidu as well, since Cu is a demigod, but it wouldn't have worked either since they function as projectiles.
What are you on about Cu killing Kirei in the Fate route? He get's to do that in the UBW route, a little later than the episodes adapted here. In the the Fate route Shirou kills Kirei by stabbing Kirei with the Azoth Dagger (the very same one Kirei had got from Tokiomi and than used to kill him and that he gave to Rin without her knowing it was used to kill her father), then punching it to release it's power into him.
16:30 Lasted a full day against Gilgamesh. It was in the final part of FSN, Lancer got fed up with Team Kotomine and fought Gil to let Saber and Shirou escape.
I can’t wait to see your reaction buddy. 20:21 I knew Archer sided with Caster to help Rin and maybe Saber, but for the life of me I couldn’t exactly how. Thanks to this I can now tell ya, LOL. Although I think in the original Archer really thought it would hold. 1:38 OH YEAH, hahaha I forget Rin & Shiro are teenagers and thus are prone to freaking out as such, LOL. 2:39 That IS the Universal Greeting, but from the animated Transformers movie from 86. 27:03 I thought Saber didn’t come into her humanity until after she got back to England and died.?.?.? maybe I’m misremembering it. 27:15 That was always my assumption as well.
8:00 see most people don't realise how dangerous Kazu... Kuzuki, whatever his name is, is. If that guy knew how to magic, Kirei would've forgotten about Emiya.
15:53 he is a 3 stars because he is such a bro that he droped 2 stars for us freebees te have one of the best servants. And im not joking this man pulled me trought all goetia fights
As others said - the Archer who appears in UBW is the Shirou from the Fate/stay night timeline who romanced Saber - that's why he prefers blondes XD And the "lasted a whole day against him" line is also from Archer's timeline where Cu lasted a WHOLE DAY against Berserker Herc.
I was waiting for this…now I can finally rest and relax. Also I felt kinda bad for Shirou after Saber became Rin’s servant. Also Cu being the bro as per usual.
2:38 is a reference to the original g1 movie. Bah weep granah weep nini bong. It's said by the Autobot Kup towards some aliens. It has since become a fun uncommon reoccurring joke in all transformers media.
To fair, Lancer has no idea that Gil is Kirei's servant, He doesnt find this out until the basement scene in the fate route and he never does in this route
So with the Blonde comment Archer is referring to his route where he and Saber were a couple, the "last a full day" thing was in Archer's original route where Cu fought Gilgamesh.
So, with Archer prefering blondes, they are eludeing to the first Fate/Stay Night anime where Shirou was in love with Saber. And due to that bond, they took down Beserker in 1 blow. Then Saber made her wish to return to her he prebious life before becoming a hero. Which is why he also stood there like "YES, I did all those things you just said"
Archer, lived through a timeline very similar to the Fate route, however he didn't reach an understanding with Saber in his version of events. Also, from what I can gather he retains memories of being the Archer of the Fate route, as first episode showed a flashback of a bloodied Archer fighting Berserker
That's the weird part, I've heard her version before, but the voice sounded like who says slightly different pitch than I was expecting from her. Maybe it was just a different tuning in the background that threw me off. 🤔
@@Airier Sorry for the misinformation man,it just really sounded like her. I didn’t mean to lead you to anyone that wasn’t the actual singer apologies.
It isn't an alternate version of the same song. It's a different part of the same song. If you listen to the entire song, the one that they're using for this one is the chorus towards the end of the song.
When Archer said he prefers blondes, he meant Saber. Cause the entire abridged, he’s hinting that he is the Shirou in the Fate route that fell in love with Saber and had hot steamy mana transfer.
"I prefer blondes" refers to saber, cause he's from the timeline in the VN where you choose saber, archer is exclusively the variation from fate, in ubw he realizes things are different so he takes it into his hands to try and stop shirou from becoming him, and in heavens feel shirou gives up his dream so he doesn't have a purpose in the war anymore
27:20 it's not cannon in this abridged series Archer comes from the Fate route but cannon Archer came from a timeline where Heroic Spirit Shirou Emiya never came from Fate Route: Shirou still becomes Archer but doesn't regret his decision and ends up in Avalon with Saber UBW Route: Same as Fate except he's more grounded as him and Rin have a sorta One Piece relationship when he starts off the path of Archer Heaven's Feel Route: His soul gets separated from his body and becomes like Zouken except his soul won't be corrupted and he and Sakura kinda live happily ever after
When archer said I prefer blonds he was talking about saber and comparatively she never abandoned her wish in the original fate and was entirely emotionally withdrawn that is what he meant when he said this is the timeline when you come into your humanity
Anyone having an issue where the video and the audio are de-synced? Edit: happens to me when caster dies (specifically after kuzucchini, because the audio is at archer talking about "kuzuki wanting to get his smooch on" but the visuals where at when caster was in the middle of dying (showing her heels) so...)
Ngl I was slightly mad, but after the high I thought "Nah that was an excellent way to end this since the mic drops that happen after the Reality Marble that it'll make the video longer than it should be"
Hey, he's the BEST ✮✮✮ in the game. His damage is the HIGHEST for ✮✮✮ too, and is better than some ✮✮✮✮ servants, not to mention you can solo a lot of content with the man once you've properly upgraded him!
Canonically, all the routes do not have a chronological order, and even if they do, Archer wouldn't be able to piece them together since from his point of view, he's experience an influx of memories from the him of the past, present and future, that's the reason why he is always confused and amnesiac at the start of the grail war, as he needs time sort his memories to a good enough extent to understand the situation. However, as for this abridged Archer, from the content of the dialogue, he might be the Shirou who didn't get enough affection points with Saber in the fate route, and Saber chose the Holy Grail over him during the church scene, and ended with a dead end with Saber cutting him down unintentionally due to her desires overwhelming her a brief moment. It's possible that Shirou managed to survive that with Avalon's regeneration, but, only waking up after everything is over, the exact events that led to that is up to your imagination.
Always loving seeing these! These videos are the only place I like to get direct about stuff, so here we go!

17:28 - Other way around. Archer's telling Lancer what he's trying to do to Caster.

6:50
Another Note: the best Killers of human known are ORT, the Aristoteles of the Oort Cloud (and maybe also Mercury? Still want that answer Nasu) and Primate Murder, the Beast of Gaia that is boosted by comparison of others leading to be capable of limitless power boosts
And under the shared gold spot is our bronze medal Angry Mango
@@Airier Potatoes are native to South America and didn't get properly introduced until the Spanish began being Spanish in the 17th century.
He isn’t talking about them it is saber in a previous episode he assumed Shirou and saber were dating
16:42 Cu fight Gill for a full day.
wrong about his son part, it was Cu who made that request, he didn't find out until it was too late.
Also sorta wrong about him being from the Fate timeline. In the abridged they make it seem like he's from the Fate Timeline but it's more so he's from a completely different timeline that plays out similar to the og Fate
@@TrainHardnett wasn't it his son's geas which makes him more powerful? I don't remember if its a geas (like a binding vow)
27:26 I believe this is the official stance on what timeline Archer comes from:
Q: What was the Fifth Grail War that Heroic Spirit Emiya experienced in his lifetime like?
Quick note, when Archer says he prefers blondes he means Saber from his timeline.
I loved Archer slowly realising throughout his fight with cu how strong he was and the extent of which he got screwed over in his holy grail war
Irish Hercules is looking less like a joke and more like an accurate description. 😁

@@ikonta169 It's explicity the case, according to a q&a with Nasu
27:20 the answer is - Saber in Fate route was stuck in thinking that her wish is the most important thing to her, only rethinking it after learning about Angry Mango (and not even due to learning that). Compared to that, here she switches instantly (at least in Abridged, original UBW took more time too). Also Archer is more or less the same person in every VN route - ever-maidenless protag of almost-Fate route, where Saber didn't reciprocate
Shirou's "This is a timeline?!!" line is priceless!
More so if you realize this was likely him finally clicking in that Archer isn't just future him, but _alternate_ future him.
16:23 To answer your question, Archer is referencing Lancer's fight with Gilgamesh in the Fate route, specifically in the VN where it says it lasted 24 hours. The Deen adaptation left that out and made the fight last mere moments instead.
16:44 in the original VN lancer fought gilgamesh to a standstill for an entire day in the saber(stay/night) route

yeah original myth Cu was on another level
edit:typo
Fun fact:
The Causality Reversal is NOT the power of the Gae Bolg spear. It's ONLY a spear technique NP.
This is why Scathach cannot use that ability.
It's actually just a spear technique at the level of True Magic just like how Kojiro's Tsubame Gaeshi is a sword technique at the level of True Magic.
The Spear actually only has two powers:
1- Anti-Healing curse;
2- Curse of Instant Death if the heart is pierced.
@@michaelolaf9968
That’s
…
A good question, if Shirou with just an arm could replicate god speed by tracing the technique you’d think Archer would have made use of that by tracing the technique from Gae Bolg
Then again Nine Lives Blade Works could only perform 8 strikes at Godspeed so something like the Gae Bolg and its ability was probably something that Archer couldn’t make use of
While Gae Bolg itself lacks the reversal of causality, it does actually actually seek the heart when thrown, that's how it's anti-army deployment works.
Source. Because I for the love of god can't find this information anywhere.

Its a thing from the Original Transformers Movie.
The 1986 (I think) one. Optimus Primes first death. Debute of Stan Bush's "You got the Touch"
The "universal Greeting" is an old, even for million-years old Robots" greeting that mean you come in peace.
Its also a Chekhov's gun
Yep, been a standard and a meme ever since that.
His thought about the movie was trying to remember the quote Klaatu Berata Nikto.
12:50 in this abridged series Archer is from the Fate Route and said blonde is Saber
In the original FSN all three routes are happening simultaneously so Archer wasn't in the timeline until he became a guardian which is a different timeline than the three that are happening in the original version

Not really......he admires Saber but she is not his not number one priority now.Rin now is also not that interested in Saber as well,so i would look at that as a situation when married couple's shares their property.(considering how little hesitance she had giving Shirou her magic crest kinda confirms it)

My favorite tradition. 😁
Help that he’s basically Iron Fist thanks to Executor training. He barely even needs reinforcement magecraft.
I always like lancer has a fondness for Rin, which makes it perfect that he's her servant in Extra
Rin: YES! THIS IS THE BEST TIMELINE!
Saber: THIS IS THE WORST TIMELINE!
Shirou: THIS IS A TIMELINE?
No, the line about preferring blondes is about Saber, who IS a blonde.

@@accipiter160 lol that is "Indeed" a great possibility 😂

The Day the World stood still ?
(2008 American science fiction film serving as a loose adaptation of the 1951 film of the same name (which itself was based on the 1940 short story "Farewell to the Master").)
Archer is from FSN timeline, so him preferring blondes is reference to Saber and Cu lasted whole day there against Gilgamesh (although in anime they did make him die quickly).
Well, he's from a variant.
He fell in love with, but was never able to save Saber.
This archer is from the stay night timeline. So the blonde would be saber, the lasted a day against him was lancer vs Gilgamesh in that timeline. This episode was gold lol.
1.The day the work stood still
2."Blondes" is referring to Saber since Archer is suppose to be emiya from the fate route
3.Lancer fought Gilgamesh in the VN for a full day before Gil killed him.
I love how the timeline joke is basically a quadruple layered joke 😂
Haven’t seen you in forever and got recommended this after watching episode 10 on my own time. Good seeing you again

They used Metal Gear Rising music before. They did Red Sun when Shiro first conjured the two swords a few episodes back.
You know, the only canon time cu chulainn has won a grail war....was when he wasn't a lancer

Ae for the cryptic things Archer said that confused you, remmember that EMIYA Archer comes from a a timeline that mostly follows the FATE Route. So, while he has implete knowledge to this timeline he also knows how things went in the other
- When he asked about where where the fourth reinforcement was, he meant Gilgamesh, HE KNOWS Kirei is the master of both, he just "corrects" himself when Cu ask if he refers to his master to keep the façade.
- " I prefer blondes" , EMIYA Archer comes from a timeline most similar to the FAYE Route, so his main love interet was saber
- when he ask if Lancer has proyectile protection and when confirmed says that explains that's how he lasted a whole day, as well as at the end of the fight when he said to him he desserved better, he reffers to his end in the FATE timeline, where he was betrayed and tortured by Kirei and Gilgamesh
- when he reproaches saber about how NOW she recovered her humanity and then cuts himself, is because, although he comes from a timeline most similar to the FATE route, in his timeline he was unable to complete his romantic arc with her, and, in a way, was unable to save her from her own burden and obsession, so it pisses him off both seeing her getting over it in this timeline and doing it for Shirou,
@Airier Archer in this is supposed to be Archer from the Fate Route which is why whenever they have "flashbacks" it shows the Dean Fate/Stay Night Clips which covers the Fate route.

And im not joking this man pulled me trought all goetia fights
As others said - the Archer who appears in UBW is the Shirou from the Fate/stay night timeline who romanced Saber - that's why he prefers blondes XD
And the "lasted a whole day against him" line is also from Archer's timeline where Cu lasted a WHOLE DAY against Berserker Herc.
I believe it's a reference to the fact that Lancer Held off Gilgamesh for half a day in the Fate Route.
Gilgamesh Sword Spam vs Protection from arrows
Its a similar timeline not the same that shirou went to avalon
@@angel7661 Multiverse theory's a bitch
This is a bad timeline FATE Shirou who didn’t have Saber reciprocate his affections enough to trigger the Avalon ending like main Shirou did
I was waiting for this…now I can finally rest and relax.
To fair, Lancer has no idea that Gil is Kirei's servant, He doesnt find this out until the basement scene in the fate route and he never does in this route
also the "full day" is referring to Cu fighting Gil in the fate route for 12 hours
So with the Blonde comment Archer is referring to his route where he and Saber were a couple, the "last a full day" thing was in Archer's original route where Cu fought Gilgamesh.
Archer was talking about saber, because he's from fate route
16:16 in the fate route Cu fights Gilgamesh for an entire day.
3:46 not sure about the son part but that is how it went in those times
So, with Archer prefering blondes, they are eludeing to the first Fate/Stay Night anime where Shirou was in love with Saber. And due to that bond, they took down Beserker in 1 blow. Then Saber made her wish to return to her he prebious life before becoming a hero. Which is why he also stood there like "YES, I did all those things you just said"
Archer, lived through a timeline very similar to the Fate route, however he didn't reach an understanding with Saber in his version of events.
Also, from what I can gather he retains memories of being the Archer of the Fate route, as first episode showed a flashback of a bloodied Archer fighting Berserker
i think it's less he remembers the fate route as Archer but that he remembers seeing what happened to Archer as Shirou
The alternate Brave Shine is from Amalee a singer, vtuber and VA. Apart from that, keep up the great work, loved the reaction as always.
That's the weird part, I've heard her version before, but the voice sounded like who says slightly different pitch than I was expecting from her. Maybe it was just a different tuning in the background that threw me off. 🤔
@@Airier Still I’m glad that I helped you. Have a good day.
@@Airier I've mentioned on your previous videos, but it's not Amalee. Corrine (Megami33 on youtube) produced that cover for us.
Ah, that explains it. I've listened to her songs, she's great. But I don't know she covered brave shine. 😯
@@Airier Sorry for the misinformation man,it just really sounded like her. I didn’t mean to lead you to anyone that wasn’t the actual singer apologies.
The funniest part about the Nightwing thing is that Batman straight up says he looks to Dick when trying to be a hero.
@Airier The Universal Greeting is from the original Transformers movie from 1986.
Huh, the best transformer movie. Nice. 😲👍
@17:55 He's Irish, speaking to him is fighting words
27:20 it's not cannon in this abridged series Archer comes from the Fate route but cannon Archer came from a timeline where Heroic Spirit Shirou Emiya never came from
Fate Route: Shirou still becomes Archer but doesn't regret his decision and ends up in Avalon with Saber
UBW Route: Same as Fate except he's more grounded as him and Rin have a sorta One Piece relationship when he starts off the path of Archer
Heaven's Feel Route: His soul gets separated from his body and becomes like Zouken except his soul won't be corrupted and he and Sakura kinda live happily ever after
When archer said I prefer blonds he was talking about saber and comparatively she never abandoned her wish in the original fate and was entirely emotionally withdrawn that is what he meant when he said this is the timeline when you come into your humanity
The was a copyright block. Resolving it f-ed up some of the audio. 😑
@@Airier thought so. Thanks.
Ngl I was slightly mad, but after the high I thought "Nah that was an excellent way to end this since the mic drops that happen after the Reality Marble that it'll make the video longer than it should be"
Spent all day refreshing for this!!! Thank you!!!!
3:06 The day the earth stood still.
As Mr. Perfect Cell once told Trunks, “Multiverse Theory is a bitch.”
The reference to Archer I like blonds is his love for Artoria in the fate path and him lasting a day fighting was against Gilgamesh
They’re going to have a hard time topping this one
Technically speaking, Kirei isn't Gil's master here anymore. Shinji is.
12:40 His comment on Blondes is about Saber.
